They were pictured looking more loved-up than ever this week, packing on the PDA at the premiere of Ben’s new film, Air.

And while Closer has previously reported that Ben Affleck, 50, and wife J-Lo, 53, are hoping to have a baby via surrogate, insiders now say that Jennifer has been delaying plans in a bid to find the perfect candidate.

A source says, “Jen and Ben have been interviewing potential carriers for many months now, but right as they’re about to sign papers Jen keeps changing her mind and putting it on hold for one reason or another. She’s methodical in everything in her life, but she seems to be really overcomplicating the situation and stalling.”

Bennifer – as they’re affectionately known to fans – were the ’90s IT couple, and got engaged in November 2002 after meeting on the set of Gigli a year before.

But the couple called off the wedding in January 2004, with Ben going on to marry actress Jennifer Garner, with whom he has children Violet, 17, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel, 11 – while J-Lo tied the knot with singer Marc Anthony, welcoming twins Emme and Max, 14, in 2008.

Ben and Jen rekindled their romance in 2021 and had a lavish wedding at Ben’s home in Georgia last summer.

And reports have claimed that the couple are over the moon with their sweet blended family, but would love to add to their brood.

The insider now concludes that Jen isn’t quite ready, saying, “Jen does want a baby and insists that it will happen in due course, but everything has to feel right and, from her point of view, there’s absolutely no sense in rushing into this. They have the very best agencies at their disposal so they’ll have no issue finding the right candidates. Ben’s telling her that what will be will be, but it doesn’t help that she’s being super-picky and non-committal.”
