Most of us would be delighted to be half as hot at half her age, but Demi Moore’s not feeling so sexy these days. The 60-year-old actress has told friends that despite being asked out on dates by the most eligible of Hollywood’s bachelors, she’s just not feeling the dating scene these days. In fact, she’s happier cuddling up to her pets and hanging out with family and friends than getting laid…

“There’s no denying how great Demi is looking these days,” says a source close to the star, who became a grandma in April and is also mum to Rumer, 34, Scout, 32, and Tallulah, 29, from her marriage to actor Bruce Willis. “You’d never believe she’s in her seventh decade – she looks younger than her daughters and their friends! She’s constantly being hit on and asked out by captains of industry and famous actors. But all those guys get flatly denied. Demi always says no, telling everyone she’s more interested in being at home with her pets, or spending time with her family and gal pals. She just doesn’t have an appetite for romance and dating isn’t a priority for her anymore at all.”

Last week the [GI Jane] actress was spotted enjoying a holiday on a $500million superyacht, as she and friends sailed around the Greek Isles. Headlines screamed about Demi’s “perfect” and “incredible” figure as she swam in the Mediterranean and sunbathed on deck. She later shared pictures from the trip with her beloved chihuahua, Pilaf, calling it “paradise”, and adding, “Basking in the sun, playing in the water, naps with furry friends, and a good book…” Her 4.7m followers rushed to compliment her, with one commenting, “You look fantastic Demi and you always have”, while another declared, “Greece got one more mermaid!!! A gorgeous and superb one!!” One male fan even cheekily asked, “Have to ask, are you single and free for a date?”

But he – and anyone else desperate to date the gorgeous movie star – are out of luck. “She’s been married three times and she says she’s been-there-done-that when it comes to the Hollywood dating scene,” our source says of Demi, who was also previously married to musician Freddy Moore in the eighties, and actor Ashton Kutcher in 2005. “She’s sick of these smooth talker men, who are there for the thrill of the chase or to add another notch on their bed post. She can smell those types a mile off and has always found it the ultimate turn-off. It makes her cringe to see so many of her peers get conned by these slimy dudes who wind up being a disappointment and a colossal waste of energy.”

Her friends say it’s a U-turn for the star, who has previously embraced the dating scene. We’re told, “Demi’s attitude is surprising, not just because she’s so drop-dead gorgeous, but because she’s always made no secret of how important sex and intimacy is to her. She’s had plenty of flings, especially right after the divorce from Ashton. There were several girls-only vacations down in Mexico where she’d enjoy some no-strings hook-ups with hot young guys. There were one or two guys who got to stick around because they had more depth and intellect about them, but mostly Demi was just enjoying herself after a difficult marriage.” In her 2019 autobiography, [Inside Out], the [Indecent Proposal] star opened up about the split from [Two and a Half Men] star, Ashton, which came shortly after the now 45 year-old was pictured on a night out in a hot tub with a group of women. Demi – who is now sober – described abusing alcohol and prescription drug, Vicodin, later having a seizure at a party. After the divorce she went to rehab for addiction issues and an eating disorder, admitting, “Part of my life was clearly unravelling. I had no career… No relationship.”

But these days, sources say Demi would rather spend time with her loved ones, including ex-husband – and still close friend – Bruce, 68. The sad news broke earlier this year that the legendary action hero film star is suffering with dementia, with his wife, Emma Heming updating fans last week that she is “not good” since taking on the role as his caregiver. In February, Emma – who has two children with Bruce, Mabel Ray, 11, and nine-year-old Evelyn Penn, nine – released a statement, along with Demi and Bruce’s five children, confirming the Hollywood icon is battling frontotemporal dementia (FTD). It affects problem-solving and emotions, with symptoms including obsessive behaviour, problems speaking and personality changes. The family confirmed this as a progression of aphasia – a neurological condition Bruce was diagnosed with last year – adding, “While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.” The group statement went on to offer “our deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love, support and wonderful stories we have all received since sharing Bruce’s original diagnosis,” and called the star, “our beloved husband, father and friend”. Our source explains, “Demi’s focus for the last few years has been on Bruce and his declining health. It takes up a ton of Demi’s emotional energy because of how much she loves him and wants to protect him.”

In fact, all her family and friends are taking priority over men. “Dating is definitely taking a back seat to her loved ones – which includes Demi’s pets!” says the insider. “She has an awesome squad of girlfriends who she’s been friends with for 25 years. They’re really good at cheering her up and diving into the spiritual topics she loves to explore in her downtime. But it’s very weird to see somebody that effortlessly hot shun the idea of romance entirely! She deserves a partner as sexy and confident as she is, and right now she’s not doing anything to find that person. No amount of nagging or attempted match making – even by her own daughters – seems to be making a difference. Demi’s feeling perfectly secure and contented on her own right now. She made a conscious decision in the last decade not to worry about her romantic life anymore. If someone incredible comes along, she’s open to it, but she’s also absolutely A-okay if they don’t! Romance and sex are not a necessity or something she’s craving – she’s happy with her life as it is right now.”
