The Kardashian who refuses to be friends with Meghan – but what has she done wrong?

As Kris Jenner primes Meghan’s appearance on The Kardashians, not all of her daughters are behind her

After Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner was pictured with Meghan Markle’s mum last summer at a swanky celeb bash in LA, fans began wondering if Meghan could put in a cameo appearance on the family’s long-running hit reality show as part of her well-publicised plan to crack Hollywood.
Then last week Meghan’s husband Prince Harry, 39, reportedly enjoyed a skiing trip with Kris’ boyfriendCorey Gamble. A source claimed Kris, 68, is still keen to get Meghan, 42, on screen at their famous Calabases home, fuelling rumours that the family still have that masterplan up their sleeve. But while momager Kris is keen for a sprinkling of royalty, the same can’t be said for some of her daughters.
An insider reveals, “Kris is thrilled to have Meghan Markle on speed dial and in her future plans now, as we just reported – but other family members aren’t so sure and are urging their mom to focus on family first instead of helping someone they consider a major competitor.
“It’s a big win for Kris and she’s excited and can’t wait, but for the girls, especially Kim and Kourtney, this is alarming. They see Meghan as a threat.”

The source adds that Kim’s shapewear brand isn’t doing as well as it previously has and Kourtney’s lifestyle brand Poosh – branded as ‘the modern guide to living your best life’ – would be in direct competition with Meghan’s new website, so it would be a kick in the teeth to have Meghan steal their limelight.
“SKIMS is in a tense position right now, Kim’s really trying to push it to that next level and is planning to go down the home décor road so the last thing she needs is another lifestyle competitor snapping at her heels and learning all the tricks of the trade from her mom,” they say.
“And the same goes for Poosh, the website Meghan is launching is going to be a direct competitor for Kourtney’s site so she’s pretty stunned that her mom would do this, she’s taking it very hard and accusing Kris of trying to sabotage her. It’s a small space and there’s just not enough room to collaborate, not the way Kris thinks. As far as Kim and Kourtney are concerned, it’s madness to team up with Meghan. They have nothing against her personally, but they see her new venture as direct competition and they’re not looking forward to welcoming her into the fold.”

Last August, Meghan’s mum Doria, 67, and Kris beamed for the camera at Amazon boss’ Jeff Bezos’ party.  Doria’s appearance at the star-studded event came three months after the Duchess of Sussex was spotted hiking in Los Angeles with a bodyguard, who is believed to have been involved in protecting Kim Kardashian in 2016, after she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris.
Earlier this month, Meghan – whose Spotify deal with Harry was unceremoniously axed last summer – officially relaunched her Instagram account with a 50 second long video, four years after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s official account was closed down following their exit from the Royal Family. The new account has been named American Riviera Orchard, and has been confirmed by Archewell as a genuine account. Within hours, Meghan had more than 200,000 followers.
The brand’s trademark filing application includes cookbooks, tableware, linens, a range of spreads and preserves including jellies, jams and nut butters, alongside table place card holders specified to be “not of precious metal”.

A second application includes stationery, textiles, string bags, yoga gear and a range of pet-related items such as leashes, collars, feeding mats and bird seed. The brand has also launched a website, with a joining waitlist.
While Kris believes an appearance from Meghan on her family’s show would give it a huge boost, her daughters – apart from the youngest, Kendall –  aren’t so sure.
The insider says, “They’re not worth as much money as people might think, certainly not Khloe or Kourtney, and even Kim worries about her finances because her expenses are just so outrageous. This is a very hard time for everyone, even the Kardashians are feeling the crunch, so they’re extra upset that their mom is talking about putting her energy towards the Sussexes when they feel like they don’t get enough of her help and attention as it is.

They add, “They admire their mom as a businesswoman, and they understand that she sees an opportunity with the Sussexes, but they’re still against it. Kylie wasn’t paying much attention to her mom’s plan until she heard that Meghan’s got her eyes on launching a make-up line, that sent her into a meltdown, and she’s joined in on her sisters’ campaign to put a stop to this whole thing.”
Model Kendall is said to be the only one not “feeling threatened.”
“The way Kris is talking she’s making it sound like she’s going to give Meghan and Harry the keys to the kingdom and a lot of investment that the girls feel could be going towards their own brands. Poosh has been a moderate success but by no means has it taken off to the level Kourtney hoped it would and she’d love to see her mom invest more time and money into helping it grow. Khloe hasn’t had much traction with her brand either, at least not compared to her sisters.

“You can’t really say the same about Kim or Kylie but that hasn’t made them the least bit interested in sharing, for them it’s never enough. They fight over their mom all the time as it is, they’re stunned that she wants to add someone new to the mix and very jealous. They’re such an insular tight knit family so the idea of bringing in outsiders to feast off their connections is so offensive.
“But that’s Kris for you, she’s always loved stirring up competition, she sees it as a way to get the best out of her kids. In her eyes it’s another way to motivate them and she doesn’t have a whole lot of sympathy, especially because she’s looking at the Sussexes as another way to bring in money and prestige for herself. She might be the ultimate momager, but she still puts herself first.”
