He was a heartthrob in the 80s and 90s due to the huge success of the Crocodile Dundee trilogy and Paul Hogan – who stars as Mick Dundee in the films – is ready to date again at the age of 84.

The actor, who’s known to friends as Hoges, has been through the mill the last 10 years, after divorcing his first wife Linda Kozlowski in 2014, struggling with ill health and also keeping his son with Linda, Chance, on the straight and narrow. But he’s now on the lookout for love.

An insider reveals, “Paul’s been down on his luck for a few years but now he’s mobile again, his son’s doing better, and he wants to get out there and date. He’s putting the word out among his friends and even willing to do online dating. He’s always talked a good game of meeting somebody and spent a long period in his 70s dreaming of that fairy tale stardust romance, he even had a crush on Kris Jenner, but now he wants companionship, someone who understands him.” 

Paul was married to his first wife, Noelene Hogan, between 1982 and 1989 and shares five children with her. A year later he married Linda, 66, after meeting on the set of the 1986 film, and they were together for 24 years before she filed for divorce in 2014 citing irreconcilable differences. In 2015, the Australian actor’s manager, Douglas Urbanski, revealed Paul had his sights set on Kardashian ‘momager’ Kris Jenner. 

“He told me that if anyone asks about his love life, to tell them truthfully that he wants to date Kris Jenner,” Douglas told a US magazine at the time. But sadly that wasn’t meant to be as Kris, 67, had already started dating Corey Gamble, following her divorce from Bruce Jenner.

In 2017, Paul was said to be “stunned” after his ex Linda married her Moroccan business partner Moulay Hafid Babaa, who she met shortly after divorcing Paul. A mutual friend at the time said, “He wants Linda to be happy, but probably wishes she was with him. There is still a part of him that will always love Linda and he maybe thought they’d still end up together.”
Paul’s love life hasn’t been a focus for the actor the last few years. In 2022, the star revealed he had been diagnosed with retroperitoneal fibrosis – an inflammatory disease which strips the body of fat. 

“I’ve lost all my body fat and the muscles all shrank and the strength hasn’t come back, because it left me feeble. I get Chance to open jars for me,” he said.

The actor was prescribed corticosteroids to shrink the growth, but as a result, shed a lot of weight.

“They shrink your muscles and [they’re] supposed to make you fat, but I got thinner and thinner and thinner,” Paul revealed. “I’m now in the business of trying to put a bit of fat on… because you feel the cold too much when you’ve got no body fat.”

He admitted the devastating impact on his health has left him wanting to return to Australia and leave the $3.5million Venice Beach home he shares with Chance. Paul – who now has a pacemaker – described himself being ‘held together by string’ while attempting to work his way back to full health. But now, he is ready for romance again.

The insider says, “He has a cordial relationship with Linda [Kozlowski, his ex], but what she’s got with her Moroccan tour guide [Moulay Hafid Baba], he wants. He thought a long time about going to Australia, but the Southern California lifestyle and sun are most convenient. However, spending days in front of the TV is getting tedious.”

They add, “Paul doesn’t want to die alone. Just because he’s 84 doesn’t mean he’s passed it. He was quite the stud back in the day and feels he’s got something to give. For a long time after his divorce from Linda [in 2013] Paul said he wasn’t looking for love, but that was because he was hoping it would just come to him. He’s finally admitted that he’s lonely and he wants to meet someone. He still has plenty to offer and he’s in darn good shape for his age, it’s hard to believe he’s 84.

“He’s still full of energy with an incredibly optimistic and positive take on life and he’s got a fantastic sense of humour, he’s always up for a good laugh. He’s kind, he’s generous, and for all his success he’s stayed very grounded, he’s not some ego maniac like a lot of these Hollywood types.”

Along with his own health battles, his son Chance’s wellbeing has also been a cause for concern for Paul. He recently revealed the 24-year-old was ‘doing a lot better’ after an emergency trip to the hospital last October.

During that time, a concerning video emerged of Chance sat in a car covered in cuts and bruises and wearing a pulse oximeter on his chest, with his friend smoking in the back seat. Chance, who is an aspiring musician, has a history of erratic behaviour and was reportedly fixated with the devil years ago, before his parents teamed up to get him back on track.

Paul said in a recent interview, “The only family [Chance has got] is me. All his friends, his band, musician mates, girlfriends, everything – they’re all American. He only has me, whereas my tribe at home, they’ve all got each other.”

The source says, “Since Paul’s divorce his main focus has been looking after his youngest son Chance. He’s been such a devoted dad and been there for him every step of the way. It has not been easy, Chance has a pretty rebellious streak so keeping him in line has taken a lot out of Paul, a lot of late nights, a lot of pep talks. He never doubted that his son would get back in line and all his efforts have paid off because Chance seems to have found his way at last, he’s in a much better place. The breathing room has given Paul time to think more about what he wants for his own life and that’s a big part of why he’s on this push to date again. 

They add, “He’d love someone glamorous but he’s very clear that good looks are not the be all, end all.  What he wants is a decent woman he can have a laugh with, someone he can share the simple things in life with. Everyone would love to see it happen for him, even Linda, who has a ton of respect for Paul, they still have a great relationship. He’s a great guy and there’s no reason he shouldn’t be able to find a partner.”
