Many of the Hollywood elite maybe be worried about their children being given the often-negative label of being a “nepo baby” – but not Angelina Jolie. In fact, she is using her star power to pull any strings she can to make sure her six children can be as successful as they can.

The 48-year-old actress is mum to Maddox, 22, and Zahara, 19 – who she adopted from Cambodia and Ethiopia respectively – Shiloh, 17, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15, who she shares with ex-husband Brad Pitt, and Pax, 20, who the couple adopted from Vietnam together. Brad then went on to also adopt Maddox and Zahara.

The term “nepo baby” has been linked to negative connotations in recent years, with stars such as Dakota Johnson, Zoe Kravitz, and Lily Rose-Depp coming under fire as some claim they are only successful due to their famous parents.

But Angelina is far from afraid that her brood will be targeted, with a source telling Closer, “Angelina has no qualms about her kids getting labelled as nepo babies, that’s not going to stop her from opening whatever doors she can for them. She’s in the position to pave the way for them in the world of entertainment and she’s planning to do just that.”

This has been showcased recently when Angelina’s youngest daughter, Vivienne, joined Angelina at the premiere of Broadway musical The Outsiders – which they both worked on.

Our insider adds, “Angelina has meticulously guided her kids and encouraged them to focus on their passions and what they’re good at. And her efforts are paying off in a big way because they’re all blossoming and showing signs that they’ll be hugely successful in the very near future. Making them rich isn’t the driving force behind this for Angelina, it’s more about helping them become well-adjusted happy adults, but the money they are bound to make will come in handy and keep her in the style she’s accustomed to.”

Despite her net worth being reported at a hefty $120million (£96million) in late 2023, it’s no secret that Angelina has had to spend a lot of money in her ongoing divorce battle with Brad, which has lasted almost eight years so far.

Our source continues, “With all the money she’s earned she’s still getting drained dry by all the legal fees she’s had to pay over the years, and she’s not exactly had a ton of box office hits to make up for all the money she’s had to fork over. She tries not to worry about running out but it’s certainly a concern, so having kids that can be successful in their own rights will be a huge help.”

“Vivienne’s passionate about theatre, she wants to work on Broadway, but rather than just send her to theatre school like most parents would, Angelina opted to produce a Broadway show so that she could hire Vivienne and put her in a position to learn the ropes,” the source says.

“She’s not making her the star of the show, but she’s certainly given her access that no other teenager would have. It was Vivienne who fell in love with ‘The Outsiders,’ she was the one that begged Angelina to take her to see it and as soon as she expressed an interest in working on it, Angelina stepped in and used her money and star power to make it happen. That doesn’t mean Vivienne has no work ethic or talent, but it sure as heck gives her a huge boost compared to other kids her age.”

And Vivienne isn’t the only Jolie-Pitt kid Angelina has helped get into their field of expertise.

“Angelina has done the same thing for both Maddox and Pax and hired them on her films and put them in positions that far outweigh their experience,” the source says, “She wants them to work hard and prove themselves once she opens the door, but they definitely have a huge advantage. Maddox and Pax both worked in the assistant director department on her latest movie Maria, jobs they never would have gotten without her help.”

Pax even had a starring role alongside his mum when he had an interest in acting, with our insider explaining, “When Pax was 13 he wanted to try acting so she got him a voice part in her movie Kung-Fu Panda. The next year she made him the official still photographer on her movie ‘First They Killed My Father’ and raved about what a great job he did. She’s convinced he’s going to be a top Hollywood director and she’s doing everything in her power to make it happen.

“Maddox gets the same star treatment from her, she even made him an executive producer on ‘First They Killed My Father’ and gave him a ton of power. He’s got the brains to be a scientist and did very well at University, but lately he’s been more interested in a Hollywood career and Angelina is more than happy to make that happen for him.”

Meanwhile, Zahara is more interested in success away from Hollywood, which Angelina is also helping out with.

“Zahara is doing brilliantly in college right now and has a keen interest in philanthropy and humanitarian work so that’s the path Angelina’s grooming her for,” the source continues. “She’s setting her up to come straight out of college into a top job running her own non-profit, assuming she still wants to do that when she graduates. Angelina is very proud of her and always makes a point to bring her along to meet politicians and other dignitaries. She’s totally paving the way for her and sees nothing wrong with using her connections to help her daughter.

“Shiloh’s got all sorts of offers rolling in for modeling, for movies, you name it, she could be the next big thing in Hollywood at the snap of her fingers but so far her big love is dance and Angelina totally supports that. She’s got her enrolled in the best classes in L.A. and has said that if she ever wants to move to New York to pursue it more seriously she’ll set her up with her own apartment and introduce her to all the right people. Dance isn’t Angelina’s thing but she knows plenty of people that can help and if Shiloh says the word it’s likely she’d produce a show or movie for her to star in, that’s just the kind of nepo mom she is.

“Knox is still discovering his path so right now Angelina is just focused on exposing him to as many opportunities as she can. He’s in martial arts, he’s in computer programming classes and he’s been taking flying lessons since he was nine. He takes music lessons as well, he’s very bright and Angelina is sure that whatever he settles on for a future career will be successful because she will do everything in her power to make sure of it.”
