It’s been over two decades since Britain’s biggest power couple, David and Victoria Beckham, had their perfect image shattered when claims of an affair between Becks and his former assistant, Rebecca Loos, emerged. 

And while mum-of-four Victoria, 50, recently posted a slew of loved-up snaps of her and David to celebrate his upcoming  50th birthday, the sensational claims have haunted the couple ever since. 

Now, in a new TV interview, Rebecca, 47, has once again spoken out about her alleged affair with David, doubling down on her promise that she has always told ‘the truth’ – a bombshell we are told has left Victoria fearing that this ‘nightmare’ will always rear its head.

Opening up about what she claims was a four-month affair between her and David, which took place back in 2003 when he joined Real Madrid from Manchester United, Rebecca, 47, told 60 Minutes Australia of her decision to go public: ‘…It was a very brave thing to do to go up against them. I have stuck to the truth. I’ve never exaggerated. I never lied about a single thing.’ 

Rebecca also, somewhat cruelly, claimed she had woken up in David’s hotel room – with Victoria’s toiletries still in the bathroom – with a ‘huge smile’ on her face after the first time they slept together.

Going into details about how she had initially joked with David to ‘f**k off’ when she claims he asked her to come back to his hotel room, she then described how he ‘kept looking at me…it’s the way he looks at you, it’s hard not to [give in].’

Meanwhile, a source tells us how Vic has been left heartbroken all over again. They say, ‘Every time Rebecca opens her mouth, it’s like another million daggers to Vic’s heart. Rebecca speaking yet again just reiterates the fact she will never escape this nightmare no matter how hard she tries.

‘The new revelations she made about the affair made her feel physically sick and while she tries not to let it affect her and David, it’s difficult not to feel intensely angry and resentful at him and start quizzing him all over again.’

They add, ‘No matter how much of a good place her and David are in and however much they try to ignore it, Rebecca comes back when they least expect it with yet more bombshells – throwing their marriage into further chaos and putting untold tension and stress on them every time.’ 

Rebecca has since left the fame game behind, swapping her life as a Dutch glamour model and celebrity assistant to marry her doctor husband, Sven Christjar Skaiaa, with whom she shares sons Magnus and Liam. 

The family live in a remote village in the Norwegian mountains, where Rebecca practices and teaches yoga and meditation – a world away from the storm that wreaked havoc on her life back in 2004 when she first sat down with the now-defunct News of the World and made the shocking claims of her affair with David. 

At the time, the footballer, who was at the peak of his footballing fame, was dad to four-year-old Brooklyn, now 26, and baby Romeo, now 22, and he and Victoria had been married for four years. The couple later welcomed son Cruz, 20, and daughter Harper, 13.

Now, Rebecca explains that the reason she went public about their affair was the ‘heartache and pain’ she suffered, adding, ‘I felt the way he treated me was unfair, what he was getting away with – that two-faced life. He was golden balls – he was the man – ‘pat him on the back’…It was Victoria’s fault, it was my fault. All the blame was on us.’

Vic meanwhile, finally spoke out about the accusations in David’s 2023 Netflix documentary, saying, ‘It felt like the world was against us. And here’s the thing – we were against each other if I’m being completely honest.’ 

David, without mentioning any details on names, added, ‘It was the first time that Victoria and I had been put under that sort of pressure in our marriage.’ 

And while the Beckhams may have hoped that by speaking up and taking some ownership and control of the situation themselves they might have dampened the rumours, it seems David’s further denial of Rebecca’s claims, calling them ‘horrible stories’, has only stoked the fire.  

And a source tells Closer that Vic is at her wits’ end. While she wanted to keep her distance and hoped Rebecca would leave them alone, she’s now telling David that, as a last resort, she’s prepared to have a showdown with Rebecca once and for all. 

The insider says, ‘Vic’s convinced that Rebecca is hell-bent on tearing them apart and won’t be happy until she sees them divorced – insisting she needs to step in and do something drastic to stop her, or they’ll forever be haunted by her, not to mention lose each other even after all these years.

‘She’s on the brink and is at her wits end over what to do, but at this point she is convinced the only way to end this once and for all is to have a sit down face-to-face with her.’

Revealing how Vic plans to appeal to Rebecca as a mother by detailing the effects the allegations have had on the whole family, we are told, ‘Posh knows that this isn’t the last time she’ll hear from Rebecca this year, as she knows that Rebecca will no doubt speak out again once her Netflix show has aired later this year – like she did with David’s. 

‘While it’s her worst nightmare, Vic feels that the only way to make Rebecca stop will be to physically see the pain it’s causing not only her but her children and as a mother herself, it will give her the wake-up call she needs to finally let this rest. David has begged Vic not to do it and insists it’s a huge mistake but she’s saying  it’s the only option she has left to make Rebecca go away for good and end this on-going nightmare.’
