They raised plenty of eyebrows when whispers of them dating first emerged back in April 2023, but now two years on and unlikely couple Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner appear to be going from strength to strength. 

So much so, that rumour has it that smitten Timothee, 29, has already chosen an engagement ring and could be set to propose to Kylie, 27, in the coming months. However, reports last week emerged suggesting that there could be trouble in paradise for the loved-up pair, with a source revealing that reality star and influencer Kylie has been left feeling ‘mad’ at A-lister Timothee’s on-screen sex scenes. And the source says that, after some ‘tense’ discussions, Kylie is placing her beau on an on-screen sex ban. 

The insider said, ‘Timothee has no problem being intimate in movies, but Kylie doesn’t like it. It has been the main source of tension between them lately, and it’s something that has been deeply bothering them.
‘She doesn’t appreciate all the details and doesn’t want him to film any more sex scenes moving forward.’ 

The news comes as Timothee is in the midst of filming his latest movie, Marty Supreme, which sees the Wonka actor take on the role of Marty Reisman, a professional table tennis player in the 1950s. 

Based on a real person, one who was once reportedly chased with a shot-gun by his lover’s husband, Timothee’s Marty embarks on an affair with his rival’s wife, played by Gwyneth Paltrow. 

Gwynnie, of course, has a habit of speaking out a lot about sex – solo sex, sex with her husband Brad Falchuk, sex with her exes (in this case Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck, naturally). She’s even released a candle smelling of her vagina for anyone who may be curious about having sex with her. 

And during an interview with Vanity Fair last month, Gwyneth, 52, did not hold back, teasing, ‘I mean, we have a lot of sex in this movie. There’s a lot—a lot.’ 

Gwyneth then goes on to reveal how she and Timothee told the ‘intimacy coordinator’ (someone who is brought on-set to make the actors feel comfortable and to co-ordinate sex scenes) to ‘step a little bit back’, reportedly telling her, ‘I think we’re good’. 

She then added, ‘I was like, ‘Girl, I’m from the era where you get naked, you get in bed, the camera’s on.’

Kylie’s sex ban, however, could be a seen as a little hypocritical after sources revealed just last month how Timothee has been left feeling ‘worried sick’ that his sex life will become the subject of reality TV fodder after Kylie has reportedly been unable to stop bragging about their ‘red hot’ relationship between the sheets. 

A source recently told us, ‘They love being out with friends but usually by midnight, or shortly after, they’re ditching the entourage to go back home together, or to a 5-star hotel, for one-on-one time.

‘Kylie has bragged about how incredible the sex is and says no one has rocked her world the way Timothée does. They seem to be taking pride in how hard they can party while keeping it all together. It’s their thing, and once the drinks start flowing, their libidos heat up even more. With a buzz on, they can be a lot less inhibited with each other.’

But now, while Kylie’s ‘sex ban’ may be understandable to her fans, who are no doubt aware that the green-eyed monster can emerge in all of us, the source revealed how Timothee’s team and close friends and family are now further questioning the actor’s compatibility with Kylie, and fear her latest request could damage his rapidly rising star. 

Already in December last year, ahead of the release of Timothee’s film, A Complete Unknown, in which he plays music legend Bob Dylan, sources shared that Timothee’s team had discouraged Kylie’s presence on red carpets and were urging the actor to focus on his role, not his relationship. 

A source said at the time, ‘Timmy’s team wants the focus to be on him and the transformation he underwent for the role, not Kylie.’ 

However, while Timothee’s own sister Pauline, reportedly ‘can’t stand’ Kylie – joining a long line of fans and reportedly friends who have criticised the make-up mogul for ‘using’ Timothee, with one fan urging him to ‘run away as fast as you can’, their disapproval has only seemed to strengthen the bond the couple clearly share. 

Not only was Kylie very much by her man’s side at the 2025 Oscars – schmoozing with the A-list guests only when they were able to pull their hands away from each other, but Timothee has also reportedly already splashed out £225,000 on an engagement ring that he picked up in Paris. 

He’s also said to have moved into the LA mansion Kylie lives in with her two children – Stormi, seven, and Aire, three, who she shares with ex Travis Scott, and the pair are hotly rumoured to be house-hunting in Europe, focusing on Paris and Milan. However, while Kylie, after being declared a billionaire at the age of just 21, appears to be finally letting her hair down amidst the whirlwind of being a young mum teamed with global superstardom, critics of the couple still fear that their romance could be ‘doomed’ by their conflicting interests. 

While Kylie’s sex ban has the potential to seriously affect the roles Timothee is able to take on, Kylie’s ‘momager’ Kris Jenner meanwhile, has been reportedly urging Kylie to convince Timothee to appear on KUWTK. 

A source said recently, ‘Having someone as prominent as Timothée could be a game changer for The Kardashians, as Kris is desperate to revitalize interest in the series.’ 

And it seems the shadow of Kylie’s family could also prove to create further tension between the couple, with other insiders sharing that Kris has warned Kylie that she must get an ‘iron-clad’ pre-nup if she and Timothee tie the knot. 

But the insider reveals that, with what feels like the world on their back, Kylie and Timothee could prove to be Hollywood’s most modern of love stories after all.

They added, ‘Kris worries she might do something crazy and run off and marry him before they can get this agreement signed.’
