It’s now been four months since Tom Cruise first raised eyebrows over his working relationship with actress Ana De Armas, and last week it was again reported that the duo have been enjoying ‘intimate’ meals together in London.

While insiders have said their romance is in the ‘very early stages’, having first been spotted out dining together on Valentine’s Day, a source revealed last week that the Mission Impossible star, 62, is ‘smitten’ with Ana, 37.

So much so, an insider now tells Closer that falling in love again has completely changed Tom’s outlook on life, and after 24 years of reportedly very little contact, he has reached out to his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, whom he divorced after 11 years in 2001.

According to our source, Tom will meet with Nicole, 58, and their adopted children – Bella, 32, and Connor, 30 – when the actress travels to Europe this summer and, in an unlikely twist, has even suggested that her husband, Keith Urban, 57, join their family reunion.

The source tells us, ‘There’s no doubt it helps that Tom’s madly in love with Ana and that’s shifted his perspective on everything in life because he’s just so darn happy right now. It’s made him a lot more magnanimous and he’s seeing things through a very different lens.

‘When Nicole’s in Europe this summer she’s planning to spend time with Bella and Tom and maybe even Connor too and it just makes sense for Keith to be there. Tom’s fine with it, he’s ready to put the past behind him and has even said he’s looking forward to a fresh chapter.’

Nicole, who shares two daughters, Sunday,16, and Faith, 14, with country legend Keith, has respectfully kept her silence for years over the breakdown of her marriage to Tom.

Amidst rumours that Tom’s Church of Scientology tapped into Nicole’s phone to monitor her influence on one of its most faithful and famous members, the pair appear to have led very separate lives since their split.

Nicole has also been estranged from her children, who were just eight and six at the time of the split, after they chose to live with Tom and be raised within the Church of Scientology.

But after enduring undeniable heartbreak, Nicole was swept off her feet by Keith in 2005 when they met at an event, with the pair marrying just a year later.

And now the insider says Tom has come to realise Keith’s role in helping Nicole to heal.

The source says, ‘Tom used to be incredibly dismissive of Keith. He saw him as some hillbilly crooner who wasn’t good enough for Nicole and couldn’t believe she’d ended up with a guy like that.

‘But over the years, Tom’s perspective has shifted. He’s come to respect that Keith’s been a steady, loving partner andTom acknowledges that he’s helped Nicole through some really tough times.

‘He’s now able to admit he hasn’t always handled things the right way when it comes to Nicole, or Keith. There’s been a lot of unspoken resentment and pride on all sides, but Tom’s ready to lay it to rest.’

And Tom’s relationship with Ana hasn’t been the only one to help build bridges, with Tom and Nicole’s eldest child, daughter Bella, reportedly having reached out to Nicole.

In 2016, the estranged mother and daughter are reported to have enjoyed an ‘emotional’ reunion, with Nicole meeting Bella’s husband for the first time after being absent from the Scientology wedding due to their religious differences.

It was previously claimed by former scientologist Leah Remini that, following Tom’s wedding to his second wife, Katie Holmes, in 2006, Bella had remarked, ‘Our mom is a fucking SP (a Suppressive Person who is against Scientology).’

Nicole further touched upon the conflict in 2018, explaining, ‘They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists, and as a mother, it’s my job to love them.’

Meanwhile, Keith has praised Nicole as ‘an excellent mother’ and the source says Bella and Connor have also grown to see Keith as a great partner to their mum.

Last year insiders also revealed that Bella had formed a bond with the couple’s eldest, Sunday Rose, and that the siblings remain in contact.

Now the insider says, ‘Bella and Connor have spoken very highly of Keith, which has really helped to soften Tom and Bella has grown a lot closer to Nicole over the last couple of years.

‘She’s been encouraging this meeting behind the scenes, not only working to soften Tom, but also Connor too, who’s very much a daddy’s boy.’

And the source says that after years of estrangement, with many critics blaming Tom and his religion for the chasm in their family, the source says the Top Gun star is now ready for a new chapter in his life.

‘He’s told friends he doesn’t want to be the kind of guy who holds grudges forever and he sees this summer as a real opportunity for a reset,’ the insider says.

‘They are now in a place where everyone is agreeing that a reunion with all of them together is what’s needed to ease some of the tension that’s been hanging over the family for so long.

‘Tom just wants everyone to get along and be on the same page for their kids’ sake.’

Meanwhile, the source says an emotional Nicole now feels she has the chance to fulfil her dream of having a happy blended family.

They say, ‘Nicole is pretty blown away by this shift, it’s something she’s been hoping and praying for so to have it finally come to fruition is very much a dream come true.

‘That being said, she’s managing her expectations but is taking this as a very positive sign. All she wants is to have Bella and Connor in her life more and if having peace with Tom comes along with that she will be absolutely thrilled.’

They continue, ‘Nicole is not the type of person that likes any sort of conflict so being able to put this bad blood with Tom behind her once and for all will be such a massive relief.”
