Amanda Bynes makes emotional confession after joining OnlyFans
It’s a case of new beginnings for the former child star – but fans worry her dramatic latest move is going to end in yet more heartbreak
After a difficult few years Amanda is said to be heading back into the spotlight
Two decades ago she was one of the hottest young talents around. She’d made the cover of Vanity Fair, was listed in Teen People’s ’25 hottest stars under 25’ and already had clutches of awards for a TV career that began when she was just seven.
And then… it all came crashing down. When Amanda Bynes hurled a bong from her 36th floor apartment window in 2013, it signalled the end of the dream and the beginning of a nightmare.
Now, after years of dealing with the terrifying effects of bipolar disorder, Amanda is trying to pick up the pieces of her shattered life, though longtime fans have expressed their concerns that all is not well.
News that the former child star, now 39, has joined the OnlyFans platform provoked worries over the kind of content that she might post on the site, which is notoriously populated with pornographic material.
Her move onto OnlyFans has caused alarm – but she promises ‘no sleazy stuff’!
Fans expressed concern over the move, with one posting, ‘I wish her the best, but I doubt this is a good move’. Another wrote, ‘She’s had a tough life and some people are more prone to emotional issues that others. None of us know what she’s gone through but she obviously hasn’t been well for a long, long time, I hope she manages to get better’. A loyal fan referred to the battle she’s endured with her mental health, posting, ‘The hell this woman has had to go through is UNTHINKABLE.’
However, Amanda was quick to reassure her followers that there was no need to worry. Launching her new move, the She’s the Man star said, ‘I’m doing OnlyFans to chat with my fans through dm’s. I won’t be posting any sleazy content. Excited to join’.
Sources have revealed how she wants to use her OnlyFans as a place for a ‘meet and greet’ with fans – who’ll pay $50 a month for the privilege – and though she understands the ‘stigma’ around the platform, she intends to keep things safe.
Amanda is also said to see this move as a way of dipping her toes into making a comeback into the spotlight, embracing OnlyFans as the start of her ‘career renaissance’.
Amanda’s going on Ozempic to lose 40lbs – and insiders say it’s part of reviving her career
Along with this, she’s shared with fans that she’s beginning a mission to lose 40lbs with the help of Ozempic slimming jabs.
Revealing the emotional reason for her weightloss bid, she explained to her fans, ‘Oh, I’m going on Ozempic. So excited. I’m 173[lbs] now so I hope to get down to like 130[lbs], which would be awesome so I look better in paparazzi pictures. I’ll post about my Ozempic journey of course.’
Amid talk of a career comeback, insiders have revealed that she’s hoping for a new reality show as a chance to open up about her time on Nickleodeon, which featured on a documentary Quiet on Set last year detailing some of the toxic and sexually inappropriate goings on behind the scenes of some of the biggest shows on kids TV.
Amanda in 2005 – she won armfuls of awards as a child TV star
Amanda’s descent from in-demand young star into being held for 72-hours on a psychiatric ward began when she became hooked on Adderall, after reading how it had become the new ‘skinny drug’ back in the noughties. She claimed she’d faked the symptoms of ADD to get it prescribed and then abused the drug. Not long after, she began to withdraw from the spotlight and quit her movie career. Looking back on that time, she’s said, ‘I’d been working my whole life and [now] I was doing nothing. I had a lot of time on my hands and I would ‘wake and bake’ and literally be stoned all day long. I got really into my drug usage and it became a really dark, sad world for me.’
What followed was a slow-motion train wreck. Brushes with the law, being placed on 72-hour psychiatric hold and a conservatorship under her mother that lasted until 2022.

Since then, Amanda has given hope to her fans. Graduating from fashion school, she seemed to have found a new niche in artistic endeavours. And now fans are clinging to hopes that her return to the spotlight won’t cause her more pain.
Following her latest move, one posted, ‘I remember watching The Amanda Show with my then young children early 2000s and she was sassy, funny, full of life and entertaining, they loved watching her. Such a sad lady now, she just doesn’t seem to have had the mental health support she should have had. I wish her well however she makes her money, but she really needs some love and kindness to try and turn things around.’
