Being Tom Cruise’s girlfriend is one hell of a whirlwind and has recently seen actress Ana de Armas accompanying the A-lister to David Beckham’s birthday party, on a yacht off the coast of Menorca, and now, at an Oasis gig in London.

They were first linked back in February as Tom, 62, appeared to wine and dine Ana, 37, on Valentine’s Day in London for what was reportedly a ‘professional dinner’. While neither have spoken publicly about their relationship, the pair have seemed almost inseparable for the past few months, often travelling by helicopter to far flung locations with sources telling us Tom is ‘madly in love.’

But with that kind of high-profile romance, comes high levels of scrutiny. And fans recently uncovered a shocking truth about Ana after she seemed to take a social media swipe at one of Tom’s famous exes.

On an Instagram post by account ‘Celeb Mess’ – which posts unflattering pictures of celebrities – the Cuban actress had ‘liked’ a post which showed pictures of Nicole Kidman from 1996 and 2024, appearing to call out her denial of any surgery. Under the post, the caption read, ‘when you keep it real’, also sharing quotes from a 2007 interview with Nicole in which she said she was ‘completely natural’ and denied having had Botox.

While it’s not clear exactly when Ana ‘liked’ the post from February, fans on Reddit picked up on the clear swipe this week with some calling out her behaviour as ‘rude’ and ‘absurd’.

One wrote, ‘Having a one-sided internet beef with your boyfriend’s wife from 20 years ago this openly is just absurd lol,’ while another commented, ‘Lol let’s see what she looks like at almost 60’, referring to Nicole’s 58 years.

Another responded to the apparent dig at Nicole’s looks by saying, ‘It fascinates me when people in their 20s and 30s are rude about people ageing. Like where do you think you’re headed? And do you know what the alternative to ageing is?’

Pointing out that Nicole and Ana have something in common, one Reddit user wrote, ‘Dating a senior tom cruise when Nicole is free… but sure Ana, you’re the winner here lmao.’

Tom and Nicole met in 1989 on the set of Days of Thunder and fast-became Hollywood’s ultimate golden couple, marrying just a year later. The couple adopted a son and daughter but split in 2001 and seem to have done everything in their power to avoid each other since their split.

When their daughter Isabella married in 2015, neither Tom nor Nicole were present, with Nicole – who shares daughters Sunday,16, and Faith, 14, with husband Keith Urban- not having been photographed with her children since 2007. In 2023, Tom is also said to have ditched the Oscars to avoid an ‘awkward run-in’ with Nicole.

In a series of heart-breaking admissions, Nicole has admitted that she is mostly estranged from her children after they chose to live with Tom and be raised within the Church of Scientology.

In April 2005, Tom began dating Katie Holmes and the couple were engaged just seven weeks after meeting. They welcome a daughter, Suri, in April 2006 and were married in November of the same year.

And while their Hollywood romance appeared to be a real-life fairytale, Katie and Tom announced their bombshell divorce in 2012 after seven years together and six years of marriage. Their split spelled the start of years of speculation over Tom’s ‘controlling’ and ‘creepy’ behaviour.

Rumours circled over his ‘auditions’ for a new wife and several conspiracy theories surrounding the Church of Scientology – a new faith whose followers believe in trying to rid humans of alien parasites and ‘auditing’ out trauma through a device called an ‘E-Meter’ – hit headlines.

At the time of their first date, rumoured to be just weeks after she split with her former fiancé, Chris Klein, Katie had been 27 and Tom, already a hugely successful Hollywood star, was 43.

It was only after their divorce that speculation mounted that Tom’s ‘team’ at the Church of Scientology had been scouting the US for a ‘new wife’ for Tom following his 2001 divorce from Nicole Kidman.

And in a twist of fate, Seventeen magazine had interviewed Katie just a few months earlier, a chat in which she had quipped, ‘I used to think I was going to marry Tom Cruise.’

A source recently told Closer that Katie knows better than anyone how easy it is to feel swept away by Tom and is concerned about how fast his relationship is moving with Cuban actress Ana.

‘He really does go all out in the courting process,’ the insider says.

‘He makes it hard for anyone to resist, especially as he’s such a model gentleman who makes his girlfriends feel like they’re this central character in an old fashioned romance movie.

‘Back when Katie was in the same position as Ana, she too was treated like a total princess. So by the time Tom got down on one knee and proposed she was totally blown away and under his spell.’

Much like Tom’s date with Ana just ahead of her birthday earlier this year, when they flew to London on board his private jet and shared dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant, Katie’s first meeting with Tom was also rumoured to be on his jet.

Within weeks, he and Katie made their first public appearance during a romantic getaway to Rome, again drawing comparisons to Tom and Ana’s trip to Madrid, despite the pair working separately.

Now the source adds, ‘The way Tom’s romancing Ana is almost identical to how he was with Katie during those early stages.

‘Sure, he may be based in England now but he’s still operating with the same old tricks: Treating her to flights on his private jet, wining and dining her at all the fancy places in Europe; lavishing her with compliments and helping with her career.’

It isn’t clear at which point Tom and Katie’ relationship took a U-turn, but Tom has since confirmed that Katie had ‘asserted’ that one of the reasons behind their divorce had been ‘to protect Suri from the Church of Scientology’.

Before filing for divorce, Katie was reportedly forced to form an ‘escape plan’ which included a ‘gateway apartment’ in New York and a ‘burner phone’, so that she and Suri couldn’t be traced.

Now the source says Katie struggled with the ‘other side’ of Tom, away from his public persona of a Hollywood heartthrob.

They say, ‘Tom might come across as this knight in shining armour at the beginning, but anyone who’s been with him long enough can attest to the fact that he’s a very intense and difficult partner.

It’s clear Katie has since put her past behind her, but the source says she wishes in some way she could warn Ana.

The insider explains, ‘Katie has somehow managed to get past those horrible memories after finally plucking up the courage to break free and file for divorce.

‘She isn’t going to reach out to Ana or try to stir up unnecessary trouble, because many years have passed, but it’s safe to say she’s not envisaging a happily ever after for Tom and Ana – or anyone else he winds up with, for that matter.’
