It’s been just over a year since Jennifer Lopez was forced to scrap her ‘This is Me…Live Tour’, reportedly due to a combination of dealing with the breakdown of her marriage to Ben Affleck and struggling with low ticket sales.

But while in recent months our fav diva, 56, has thrown herself into a full-on revenge tour, complete with snogging, sexy outfits and some seriously raunchy on-stage antics, last fortnight she was dealt yet another devastating blow after it was revealed that she had been ‘dumped’ by her record label, BMG.

The news came after her much-anticipated comeback album, ‘This Is Me…Now’ struggled in the charts, only reaching number 55 in the UK and number 38 in the Billboard 200, and was widely considered a commercial flop.

And now a source tells Closer how, for the first time in her high-flying career that has spanned over two decades, JLo is feeling ‘vulnerable’ as she fears she could be on the brink of a flop if she struggles to grapple back fans.

An insider says, ‘She’s under an enormous amount of pressure right now and the truth is she’s feeling very vulnerable. The European dates left her deflated because she expected more positive feedback and instead she was dealing with wardrobe mishaps and harsh reviews.

‘Getting dropped by her label so recently has been another blow to her confidence and she still has not wrapped her head around why it happened. She has to soldier on with life and paste on a smile and work like nothing has happened, although right now it feels like nothing is going the way she’d like.’

Now, as an independent artist for the first time, it was reported by a US publication last week that JLo is in a ‘really tough place’ as her team struggle to shift tickets for her upcoming residency at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, which is due to commence in December and will span across the New Year.

The run marks the first time JLo is set to return to tour in the US since cancelling her tour last year, and while her sales have reportedly been slow, Dolly Parton’s stint at the famous hotel, which runs for two weeks before JLo, is said to have sold out within a day, with resale value now as high as $10,000.

And to add insult to injury, when JLo headed out to enjoy some retail therapy last week, she was also shockingly turned down from entering a Chanel store in Istanbul after sales assistants failed to recognise her.

Now the source says that after an incredibly difficult year personally and professionally, her latest setbacks are beginning to wear JLo down.

The insider says, ‘Now she is throwing herself into this Vegas run but the numbers are not where they need to be and that is eating at her. She knows Dolly is selling out instantly and she can’t help but compare, even though she would never admit it publicly.

‘Then being turned away from that fashion house event stung more than she let on because image is so important to her. There’s a real sense that she is trying to do too much at once and it’s starting to wear her down.’

And eight months on from their bombshell divorce, and a week ahead of what would have marked their three-year wedding anniversary on August 20th, the source says that to top all of her career woes, JLo is still struggling with her split from Ben, 52.

‘She tries to hide it but she’s far from over their divorce. All she wants to do is get in bed and hide under the covers for a little while but she simply can’t because she has her Vegas stint coming up next,’ they tell us.

‘She does her best to put on the most glamorous face possible in public, but the truth is when she’s not in front of the cameras she’s very sombre and still breaks down about Ben.

‘She can’t accept that things are really over, it makes her head spin how fast it all changed. It’s like emotional whiplash. He came on so strong and said all of the things she dreamt of hearing and then suddenly he swung just as hard the other way and just walked out and she was left to pick up the pieces.’

Back in May fans also slammed JLo as ‘embarrassing’ after she kissed both a male and female dancer on stage during a steamy performance, which was pegged as the ultimate ‘revenge’ on her ex.

Then again during a performance on her birthday (July 24th) in Poland, JLo’s gold tasselled skirt fell to the ground to unveil a pair of shiny gold hot pants. And while she styled out the mishap, throwing her skirt into the crowd and joking ‘I’m glad the skirt was reinforced, I usually don’t wear underwear’, fans were quick to raise their concerns.

‘I actually feel bad for her. She’s clearly going through some stuff and not making the best decisions for herself,’ commented one fan, while another added, ‘This is the most purposeful “accident” I’ve seen all week.’

But JLo’s over-sharing didn’t stop there. Just days before her wardrobe malfunction, the mum-of-two took to the stage at the Cook Music Fest in Tenerife and simulated several sex positions with a male dancer on stage.

In the same week, JLo then performed in Italy, where talks with fans between songs became very intimate as she shared her preferences in the bedroom and suggested her sex drive had ramped up due to her age.

The outspoken star told fans, ‘I have to be honest with you, sometimes I get in different moods at night. I don’t know about you but I do, and sometimes I like it hard.’

She then added, ‘Other days, I am feeling a little romantic. You put on candles and soft music. On those days, I like it real slow.’

And while sources recently told us how JLo’s loved ones, including her twins Max and Emme, 17, have been left ‘wincing’ at her antics, the source says that behind her raunchy stage performances, JLo feels ‘traumatised’ and fears she’ll struggle to find love again.

The insider says, ‘She is very traumatised by the experience with Ben because she feels as though she can’t trust her instincts, let alone another man, ever again. She doesn’t want that to be the case, she still wants to find love, but it’s very hard for her to imagine how it will happen. The only man she really wants is Ben. As hurt and angry as she is, she still says he’s her dream guy.’

They add, ‘She’s praying ticket sales for Las Vegas will pick up, she really needs a big win at this point to soothe her heartbreak. She’s just so demoralised – this has been the hardest time in her life ever, no doubt about that.’
