When it comes to Hollywood friendships, Taylor Swift and Blake Lively’s has spanned over a decade and the two superstars’ lives have become so intertwined that they are more like sisters than pals.

Until now, that is, after it was revealed last week that Taylor, 35, and Blake, 37, ‘aren’t speaking’ – four months after the ‘Don’t Blame Me’ hitmaker was unwillingly embroiled in Blake’s on-going legal storm with former This Is Us co-star, Justin Baldoni.

The bombshell status update on their friendship came just days after Taylor appeared on boyfriend Travis Kelce’s ‘New Heights’ podcast to reveal her October release of her album,‘The Life of a Showgirl’, including the title of the tracks she’s set to drop.

The first track, ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ led fans to speculate over whether it bears any relation to Blake’s character of the same in the 2012 film Savages, but it was the album’s sixth record, a clear ‘diss track’ named ‘Ruin the Friendship’ that set the internet to explode.

One social media also questioned whether her track, ‘CANCELLED’ could also relate to Blake’s plummeting popularity, writing, ‘Who else thinks Ruin The Friendship and CANCELLED! are about Blake Lively. Taylor Swift…please….’

Perez Hilton agreed, adding, ‘”I think we might be getting more than one song about Blake Lively. Yes, more than one. The obvious: Ruin the Friendship, but also CANCELLED!’

And now a source tells us how the Gossip Girl alum is still desperate to change Taylor’s mind and fears that being turned away from her inner circle could turn her into a bona fide Hollywood pariah.

The insider says, ‘Blake is heartbroken, it’s not something she can just shrug off. She adored Taylor and thought their bond was unshakable, so to be cut off so abruptly has left her reeling. 

‘The song is like a knife in the heart, she can’t help but feel it’s about her, and if she doubted that all she has to do is go online and she sees everyone else saying it’s about her, so there’s really no escaping it.’

While the pair have been friends for ten years , love bombing each other on socials, supporting each other at several high profile events, as well as spending special occasions and holidays together, their friendship appeared to come to an abrupt end in April, when Taylor’s name was dragged into Blake’s legal war.

The actress is currently suing Justin, who starred as her on-screen love interest in the adaption of Coleen Hoover’s romance novel, This is Us, for sexual harassment and a subsequent smear campaign against her. 

With both parties now collecting evidence ahead of the court date set for next March, Justin’s team alleged that Blake had used her friendship with Taylor to her advantage, reportedly asking Taylor to attend a meeting with Justin and requesting that Blake’s changes to the film script be honoured. 

They further produced a text message which Blake had allegedly sent to Justin in which she refers to herself as Game of Thrones’ ‘Khaleesi’, AKA the Mother of Dragons, and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, along with Taylor, as her ‘Dragons’. 

At the time, sources said that Taylor ‘was really hurt’ by the implications and that their friendship had ‘halted’. 

But now, after the release of the track list to Taylor’s album, the insider tells us that the tables have turned and Blake has been left feeling ‘totally abandoned’ after it was reported In June that the two had gradually begun to build on their friendship again. 

They tell us, ‘She never expected Taylor to be this cold or to hold onto a grudge for this long. The worst part for Blake is the silence, it’s so bewildering and she feels totally abandoned.

‘Blake has tried getting their mutual friends to intervene, it’s not her style to ask for help but she’s desperate and has reached out to pretty much everyone. It’s pretty well pointless though, because most of them have jumped onto Taylor’s side. And the few that are trying to stay more neutral aren’t going to risk getting on Taylor’s bad side to help Blake, so she’s very much on her own right now.’

And after a poll earlier this year revealed that Blake’s popularity has plummeted by 54.5% from last year, the source says Blake is now ‘sick with worry’ that her prospects in Hollywood could diminish without the influence of Taylor’s friendship. ‘The loss of her best friend is bad enough but on top of that she’s terrified over the professional fallout,’ the source says.

‘Taylor’s influence is enormous, if Hollywood is high school she’s the captain of the cheer squad and now that she’s decided Blake is out there’s no telling what impact that could have on bigger picture decisions.

‘Now Blake is sick with worry about how this looks and what it might do to her in the long term as far as getting new movie roles and brand deals. Ryan’s been telling Blake not to panic but she can’t help it. She sees how these things snowball. Taylor’s fan army is relentless, and Blake knows they’ll never stop speculating, it’s humiliating.’

Ryan, 48, has also been brought into the furore, with Justin accusing him of turning ‘benign comments’ into accusations that have been the base of Blake’s sexual harassment claims, as well as alleging that Ryan has led a coordinated smear campaign against him.

Ryan was also previously under Taylor’s umbrella, with the singer calling the actor ‘one of my best friends on the planet’ while promoting his movie, Deadpool and Wolverine, last year.

However the source now shares Blake’s fears that his reputation could also be in jeopardy, adding, ‘Blake’s worried about what this could do to Ryan’s career too, the stakes feel very high. Blake would do just about anything at this point for another chance, but Taylor’s just totally turned her back.

‘She has Ryan and her sisters to lean on but her social circle has been decimated by this. The feeling is that the sooner she accepts things are done with Taylor forever, the sooner she can move past it and start rebuilding her life.’

But the source says that on a personal level, losing a friendship that has spanned over a decade, and one which led to Blake and Ryan asking Taylor to be the godmother to their children– daughters James, 10, Inez, eight, and Betty, five, and son Olin, two – has been keeping Blake awake at night.

‘Blake can’t do it, this is consuming her. She still can’t fathom how one stupidly worded message imploded her entire friendship, it’s truly haunting her,’ the source shares.

‘You’d think at this point she’d be furious with Taylor but she’s still telling anyone who will listen that she loves her and just wants her back in her life. She feels crushed.

‘Sadly the chances of that happening are about a one in a million because Taylor is not the type to look back, once she’s made up her mind, she’s ruthless about sticking to it.’
