Just weeks after confirming their romance after weeks of speculation, Tom Cruise and Ana De Armas have been fast-tracking their relationship this summer. 

The new couple, who were first linked in February, have been spending time in Vermont – where Ana owns an off-grid ‘sanctuary’ – and we reported earlier this month how smitten Tom has already been scouting for their perfect ‘family home’ in the English countryside, as well as seeking advice from his legal team about organising a discreet pre-nup. 

However, on-screen, there is no sign of Ana, 37, settling down to life as a country wife. Last week, the trailer for her latest movie dropped, showing her engaging in a very steamy threesome with two of her co-stars. 

The movie, Eden, which also stars Jude Law and Sydney Sweeney, sees a group of unusually beautiful people escape to a ‘paradise’ island before they descend into pure savagery, with Ana playing one of the leads – a glamorous baroness hell bent on controlling the island, seemingly through her deadly sex appeal. 

But far from deterring her new beau, Tom, 63 – who has famously never spoken about his love life, god forbid his sex life, since that Oprah Winfrey interview when he first started dating ex Katie Holmes in 2012 – a source reveals that the actor wants in on the action. Film-making, that is…

It’s been 26 years since he starred in Eyes Wide Shut alongside his then-wife, Nicole Kidman. The movie, which was made by legendary director, Stanley Kubrick, was so racy at the time in 1999 that some of the sex scenes had to be blurred out when it hit cinemas. 

It did, however, further confirm Tom and Nicole’s status as one of Hollywood’s biggest power couples, and the insider says Tom – who also shared steamy scenes with Nicole when they first fell in love on set of 1990’s Days of Thunder – is ready to ‘push the boundaries’ again with Ana, who he feels is on the verge of a huge breakthrough in her career. 

The source tells us, ‘Tom is absolutely fixated on the idea of working with Ana in a project that pushes the boundaries. He feels like the timing couldn’t be better because she’s riding high on all the praise for her latest role and he wants to capitalise on that momentum. 

‘He’s telling people that just like his movie with Nicole [Eyes Wide Shut] put her in a whole new league, the right project with him and Ana could do the same for her. Tom has his heart set on making another career defining film and he feels like Ana has the talent and beauty to be his perfect co-star and that they could go down in Hollywood history.’ 

And although he is famously dedicated to his craft, the source says another exciting new project could also attract adventure-obsessed Tom because it would provide not only the opportunity cosy up to Ana on as well as off-set, but the chance for him to show off his own pecs-appeal, too.

‘He’s in phenomenal shape and sees himself as more attractive than ever,’ the insider says.

‘And Ana, in his mind, is the sexiest actress of her generation. He wants a story that lets them showcase that raw attraction on screen and he’s encouraging her to embrace that side of herself more.

‘He’s telling her that audiences are hungry for something provocative but smart, and that they can give it to them and reap the rewards. He doesn’t want anything trashy, he wants to make art with her, the way he and Nicole did.’ 

While two of his most famous sex scenes involved Nicole, who he was married to for 11 years until 2001, Tom has also been engaged in several other racy on-set romances, including with Kelly McGillis in Top Gun and Renee Zellweger in Jerry Maguire. 
Ana, too, is no stranger to making ‘art’ with her co-stars, having met ex Ben Affleck on the set of erotic thriller, Deep Water, in 2020. 

Ana, who played Ben’s sultry and antagonizing on-screen wife, who had numerous extra-marital affairs, embarked on a romance with Ben at the time, ending it a year later in January 2021, reportedly over his failure to commit. 

And while, at 53, Ben is still seen as one of the sexiest actors in Hollywood, the source says Tom, with the help of Ana by his side, is determined to prove he can still be a ‘sex symbol’. 

The insider says, ‘He’s ready to surprise and shock people. He’s in his sixties now, he’s very aware that people are expecting him to slow down but he’s nowhere near ready for that. 

‘He feels like he still has decades of work left in him and he doesn’t see why he can’t still be a sex symbol. He’s been talking a lot about how ground-breaking Eyes Wide Shut was when it came out and how it turned him and Nicole into the sexiest couple on the planet and he’s convinced he can do that all over again, this time with Ana.’ 

Now, with the Mission Impossible franchise behind him after the action thriller’s final instalment premiered in May, Tom is set to begin filming underwater thriller, Deeper, alongside Ana this autumn. 

Opening up about preparing for the role alongside Tom, Ana described spending time with him as ‘so much fun’. 

And now our source says she is ‘totally on board’ with filming a racy new project with Tom, who they say is ‘obsessively’ hunting for the right script. 

The source says, ‘The first order of business is finding the right script, his team is under a lot of pressure to bring something in that wows him. When Tom gets an idea he does tend to get very obsessive, it’s part of why he’s so great at his job, he hyper-fixates. 

‘He’s saying he wants a script that’s erotic and cerebral, not some throwaway thriller, and he’ll spend whatever it costs to make his vision a reality.’ 

They continue, ‘Ana is totally on board for it, she loves to push herself and of course she’s seen Eyes Wide Shut and agrees with Tom that it’s a masterpiece. The fact that he wants to create something similar with her is a huge compliment, she’s thrilled.’
