Britney’s ready for book two – if she can find the right team

As Britney Spears’ autobiography is about to be released, the popstar has already started work on her next book – and plant to include a lot more detail about her exes

On 24 October, Britney Spears will release her tell-all memoir, The Woman in Me. It is set to cover her rise to fame, her tense relationship with her family and her experience living under a legal conservatorship for 12 years, which was terminated by a judge in 2021. But before it’s even reached the shelves, Britney has already put pen to paper on her second book, which is set to cover the highs and lows of her failed relationships, including ex husbands Sam Asghari and Kevin Federline, father of her two sons Sean, 16 and Jayden, 15, in a lot more detail. But a source says the popstar, 41, will struggle to find a team to help her because of her constant indecisiveness.

A source revealed, “Britney Spears is keen on a second memoir – mainly to lash out at Sam Asghari, Kevin Federline and her other enemies – but she’s going to struggle to find a ghost writing team, since the current crew for Part One are all in a state of recovery having dealt with her ‘antics’ for the first instalment”

They added, “Britney put her team through the wringer and made the job ten times harder than it had to be. She constantly changed her mind about what they could or couldn’t put in the book.”
The source went on to say that once a chapter was completed, Britney would “tear it apart” and contradict what she’d said in a previous meeting.
“No one could call her out on it, obviously, so they’d just have to redo it. And that happened constantly,” they explained.
“She did the same with the photos, she was just all over the place. They’d set meetings with her and she’d pull no shows so they’d have to start hours later and waste the whole day.
“There’s a reason the release date kept getting pushed. They’re all thrilled to be done with the project and have all said they can’t imagine doing it again, they’re exhausted.”
Last week, Britney appeared to confirm book two was in the making. She told fans, “Riding ‘n writing!!! All I’m doing at the moment… volume 2 coming after 1!!!”
Since completing book one, she has split with her husband of one year, Sam, who she sadly suffered a miscarriage with shortly after getting married in June 2022.

A source at the time said the former couple, who got together in 2016, had a “huge fight” over cheating allegations, leading to Sam moving out of their shared home in Los Angeles. Model and actor Sam shared a statement on Instagram on August 18 saying, “After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together.
“We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always. Shit happens. Asking for privacy seems ridiculous so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful.”

In early 2022, Britney landed a deal for her first memoir. According to reports, the deal was “one of the biggest of all time, behind the Obamas”. The former president and First Lady signed a multiple book deal with Penguin Random House in 2017 for an estimated $65m.
Jennifer Bergstrom, Gallery Books’ senior vice-president and publisher, said, “Britney’s compelling testimony in open court shook the world, changed laws, and showed her inspiring strength and bravery,” referring to Britney’s court appearance to advocate for the end of her conservatorship following a much-publicised mental health crisis in 2007.

Since then, the Slave $ U singer has continued to voice her difficult and turbulent relationships with family members including her parents, sister Jamie-Lynn, ex Kevin and her two children on social media. Just recently, fans called police to her home to check on her, most recently after she filmed a video of herself dancing with knives.
She told her 42.4million followers, “So unacceptable for cops to listen to random fans and come into my home unwarranted.

“The officers came to my home and said they would not leave until they spoke to me as people did four-minute performances with knives. I am getting an apology. I’ve been bullied in my home for so long now, it’s enough.”

The source says a second memoir is on the cards because there are lots that wasn’t covered in book one.

“Britney wanted her first book to be a take-down, she went into her writing sessions with the intention to lay bare all the horrible things that were done to her by her dad and the rest of her family as well as her exes and even people in the music business,” they say.

“Unfortunately, a lot had to be cut out because it was deemed too legally risky to publish. She tried to fight back but got shut down and she’s not happy about that at all, she feels like she was muzzled.

The source adds Britney is looking for a publisher who will print everything – warts and all.
“She’s saying she’d look for a publisher with the guts to go all the way, lawsuits be damned. She says she won’t be out to skewer anyone, she’s just going to share the facts of what happened so she doesn’t see why she shouldn’t be allowed to do that,” they say.

They explain that she feels that if it was legal to treat her that way, then why shouldn’t it be legal for her to write about it. “She’s pissed that she was talked out of going all the way with her first book,” the insider reveals.

“Britney has a lot of scores to settle and could probably write a half-dozen books if she wanted to, it’s just a matter of finding a team that will really go to bat for her on this and let her write her full truth. She also has a lot she wants to correct about Sam and their divorce. And not just because she’s angry, although there’s plenty of that.

“She’s been through this huge phase of personal growth since they split up. She’s having to totally stand on her own feet. For the first time in her life, there’s no man telling her what to do. She’s evolving more every day as she recovers from the complex trauma she suffered at the hands of her dad and the conservatorship. She has more she wants to share about her journey.”
