Ryan Gosling is the latest A-list man being slammed for bad surgery

An aesthetics doctor has had his say on the work he thinks Ryan Gosling has had done to retain his youthful looks

He transformed into Barbie’s best friend Ken in last year’s hit movie, but fans are now wondering if Ryan Gosling believes life in plastic really is fantastic as they notice constant changes to his face.

The 43-year-old actor recently raised eyebrows at the premiere of his latest movie, The Fall Guy, as he sported a fuller face, which seems to have changed drastically over the past few years.

With speculation rife over whether the heartthrob has gone under the knife or simply changed with age, aesthetics doctor Dr Jonny has now had his say.

The practitioner took to his TikTok page to give his opinion on Ryan’s changing face, telling his legion of followers that he believes the Canadian star has had dermal fillers injected.

Dr Jonny said of Ryan in the video, “Looking back to 2011, he’s always had very masculine looking features, well structured cheekbones, a square jawline and a wide chin.

“There’s a certain part of his face which is very characteristic of his appearance and that’s his mid-face flatness…You can see this where the face has a sunken-like appearance.

“Most patients that I see for dermal filler treatments need some form of mid-face restoration and I carry that out by placing dermal filler aiming to restore the cheekbone structure and restoring volume,” he demonstrated by pointing next to his nostrils and in the higher part of his cheeks, in line with his earlobes.

Dr Jonny explained that it is “likely filler treatment started” for Ryan in 2021, noting there was a change around his eyes and upper cheeks which “looks much fuller and less sunken.”

He mused the work taking place in 2021 would have been “perfect timing” for the promotional shots of Ryan starring as Ken in Barbie, which were first released in 2022.

But Dr Jonny is of the opinion that Ryan has continued to have the fillers put in place, and has since looked “overfilled.”

“It’s clear to see the change in his facial proportions and the fullness to his mid-face and cheeks,” he says. “This is further exacerbated on dynamic movement of the face when someone smiles and this appearance is classic of what I see when someone’s had too much filler put in this area.”

Some fans are not convinced, however, with one asking online, “Please explain how it’s not weight gain or alcohol? Some people just get fuller in the mid face, like me.”

But another replied, “I think it’s partially that you can see the ‘edge’ of the filler, in some pictures it looks like there is something under the skin that doesn’t smooth like it would do normally,” as another chimed, “[Ryan] has abs, which requires you to keep your body fat % very low.”

“I’ve always thought he was so handsome! I noticed the change right away and I’m sad about it,” another disappointed fan commented.

Another agreed, “He’s always been a handsome man and he could just age naturally and still look great.”

Of course, Ryan is not the only Hollywood hunk to have changed his appearance in recent years – with more leading men than ever getting fans talking about their appearance.

Eagle-eyed fans speculated earlier this year that Brad Pitt, 60, has had a facelift after noticing a mark behind his year.

Cosmetic practitioner Amar Suchde, from AMS Aesthetics told Closer, “He has what most of my male clients seek – they ask for more structure and add a bit more width to their jaw to add dominance to the face.

“However, it does look like Brad has had some work done in recent years. It could very possibly be that he’s had a face lift, as you can see a tautness and an uplift around the ear, which is a tell-tale sign.

“I’d also say he’s had Botox, as the lines on his face have smoothed out. I’d also suggest he’s undergone some laser work to regenerate the collagen and resurface the skin.”

Amar believes that Tom Cruise, 61, has had a similar procedure to the one Ryan is speculated to have had, despite the actor never admitting to having cosmetic work done.

Amar says, “He seems to have had some dermal filler to give some structure back to his face. It’s possible that this filler placement has pushed that superficial fat compartment a little bit more, so it’s made him appear more puffy.

“I’d also say, potentially, Botox, but he’s left some lines on his face to make it look natural. He may have put on a bit of weight, which has made his face look puffier. And ageing too has naturally changed his face.”

Drawing his attention closer to home, Amar has commented on how footballer David Beckham, 48, has managed to keep hold of his youthful looks.

“It looks like David is a fan of Botox, but makes sure that it’s administered in a subtle way,” Amar says. “He’s kept some lines around his eyes to give him a more rugged and natural effect.

“I’d also say he’s had a bit of filler to enhance and rejuvenate the cheek structure. As we get older, we tend to lose a lot of deep fat and our face structure can deplete over time. So I’d say he’s subtly used fillers to enhance some of that lost buccal fat to keep him looking young.”

And somebody else who has had people talking about his appearance in recent years is Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell, 64.

Giving his opinion of what work Simon may have had done, Amar says, “Simon has has various different looks over the years – some far better than others. I’d say he’s using fillers, but in a more subtle way.

“He’s lost a lot of weight in recent years, so fillers would help prevent his face from looking sunken here too. He definitely uses Botox to soften the ageing lines, and this long-term use has definitely helped prevent his ageing process.”

Amar concludes, “His change in lifestyle – him quitting alcohol and overhauling his diet and fitness – will have changed the way he looks too.”
