The ultra-healthy celebs who secretly love a smoke!

We all know puffing on a cigarette is bad for us, right? Well, try telling that to these health-obsessed celebs…

Katy Perry
She’s the first to admit that she’s no gym bunny – but her dynamic stage routines would still leave an athlete gasping for air. Katy Perry’s preferred methods of keeping fit revolve around swimming, snowboarding and, you guessed it, dancing. She’s also sung the praises of Ayurvedic gut cleaning (don’t ask!) Frankly, it’s a miracle that she doesn’t sound puffed out from her full-on performances as Katy’s smoked in the past and reportedly managed the strain of her ridiculously extravagant and ill-fated wedding to comedian Russell Brand in 2010 by reaching for her faithful packet of cigs.
More recently, in 2020 she spoke about how she packed the habit in during her pregnancy with daughter Daisy, saying, ‘When you stop drinking and smoking and start creating a baby your body is like ‘well thanks for treating me nice’.’
And as she hits the road for an enormous world tour, the 40-year-old admits she’ll have to keep on being nice to herself. ‘I’m really trying to stay in the best shape, give my body breaks, look after myself so that I can show up every night and give as close to 100% that I can.’

Jennifer Aniston
She’s barely aged a day since she found worldwide fame in 90s comedy Friends and much has been made of how Jennifer Aniston’s punishing health regime has helped her hold back the years.
Whether it’s the 15-15-15 (that’s 15 mins each on a bike, cross-trainer and treadmill), the handfuls of supplements or the ultra-careful diet – something is clearly working because she’s still smoking hot at 56!
And it’s not just her looks that are smoking – over the years, Jennifer has supplemented her health kicks with an occasional cigarette.
Despite her flawless – and age-defying – looks, in her early days she was known to enjoy a smoke.  Though she was rumoured to have quit completely, the veil of secrecy around it seemed to have slipped when her ex, Justin Theroux, posted an image to his Instagram a couple of years ago showing the Friends star lighting up on her birthday – though suspiciously it was very quickly deleted. There’s no smoke without fire, huh?

Gwyneth Paltrow
She’s the grand dame of the celeb wellness scene – so it’s kinda wild that among the macrobiotic mushroom soups and the sachets of vitamin enriched ‘superpowders’ Gwynnie allowed ciggies to enter her ultra-healthy lifestyle.
Her followers have lapped up Gwynnie’s mantras for a long life – dry brushing, morning meditations, 10,000 steps a day, infrared saunas, intermittent fasting – you name it, she’s preached it.
But away from the cameras, she was lighting up her life in a different way.  These days, Gwyneth, 52, claims that she’s given up completely, but admitted, ‘I miss the cigarettes’ during a podcast chat recently. Previously she’d spoken of how she allowed herself just one smoke a week, calling it, ‘my one light American Spirit that I smoke once a week, on Saturday night’.

Dua Lipa
When she’s not Levitating, Dua Lipa has a pretty down to earth attitude to keep fit. The singer has revealed that she keeps those enviable curves toned up with the world-famous Barry’s Bootcamp – and she likes to start her day sculpting those elegant limbs with the 8.30am Sculpt by Ella class as well as Pilates, boxing, yoga…
However, it’s not all inspirational stuff. The party-loving singer has been spotted smoking on several occasions, though she reassured fans she’d given up the ciggies to help preserve her voice. But Dua, 29, was caught out in February 2025 while in Paris with her fiancé Callum Turner where they were both pictured enjoying a crafty ciggie. It seemed to be at odds with her claims on Late Night With Seth Meyers in 2022 that she’d given up for the sake of her vocals after suffering a bout of laryngitis. Speaking on a podcast after that time, she said, ‘I had laryngitis in December and that kind of kickstarted me quitting smoking a month earlier than I was supposed to. But I did it and I have stuck to it.’  Yeah, right, you naughty minx!

Kate Beckinsale
Actress Kate is such a huge fan of the benefits of yoga that she once gave a class on live TV in America. And it’s not the only form of Eastern fitness that she uses as she’s also a practitioner of qigong – which focuses on breathing through poses. But it’s not all ‘chillout’ in Kate’s fitness world. Her rock-hard abs have been chiselled through a six-day workout regime, which includes boxing and resistance training. On top of that, she ‘eats clean’, prioritising veggies and protein and stays away from booze – which has given the 51-year-old the looks of a 20-something, and she’s regularly fawned over by followers. Now for the bad stuff…Kate says she’s a smoker! In pictures she posted to her Instagram while filming in Italy last year, she even had a ciggie on the go. She’s previously opened up about her habit, saying, ‘I try and take lots of vitamins and I don’t drink. I do smoke, though, I’d be insufferable if I didn’t smoke. You’d have to push me off a balcony I’d be so boring!’

Kate Moss
She’s quite possibly the most super of all the supermodels of her generation – and even at 51 those trademark cheekbones just won’t quit.
So it’s no wonder so many followers want to know how Kate Moss manages to keep her looks. She’s been only too happy to share, telling fans that each day starts with a cup of ‘Comoss dawn tea (from her own wellness brand) and a guided meditation’. She also likes to start her day with a ‘green juice and I do [nutritionist] Rose Ferguson’s five-day plan…’ On her youthful good looks, Kate says, ‘My trick is to plunge my face in iced water and cucumber slices.’ All very holistic. Now for the gritty side – Kate was a smoker and is still occasionally caught with her ciggie – though you won’t find them on her wellness shop. Most recently she was spotted enjoying a smoke as she walked through chilly central London in March. It’s one way to keep warm!

Bella Hadid
Open up Bella’s bathroom cabinet and you’ll be amazed by the number of supplements and potions that she uses to maintain her flawless looks, as revealed on TikTok as she recently took fans through her morning routine.
But sadly, for Bella, her uber-healthy regime is also part of her self-care following a diagnosis with Lyme disease in 2013. The fashion icon recently shared her 10-point daily wellness ritual, which is so complex we literally don’t have the room to detail here. In a nutshell, though, there are lots of tinctures, gut support liquids, nutrient gels and trace minerals.
Although she was famously pictured lighting up a cigarette in the Met Gala toilets in 2017, apparently model Bella moved onto e-cigarettes in a bid to be healthier but has since spoken of her desire to quit those and has spoken about how difficult it is to give up what she calls ‘Juuling’ (as in, the e-cig brand JUUL).
