While Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruise has a string of famous Hollywood starlets behind him, including ex-wives Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes, there’s no doubt that his daughter, Suri Cruise, is truly the Woman Who Got Away in the Mission Impossible actor’s life.

Notoriously private, and incredibly powerful in Hollywood, his relationship with Suri, 19, who is a doppelganger of her mum, has remained his biggest challenge, with reports suggesting that the father and daughter have not met in over a decade, despite Tom’s reported hopes for a reunion.

Yet while the chasm between Tom, 62, and Suri appears to be ever-growing, with his youngest daughter changing her surname to her mother’s middle-name ‘Noelle’ last year – his relationship with another prominent woman in his life, new ‘girlfriend’ Ana De Armas, appears to be heating up.

While those close to Tom initially insisted his relationship with Ana, 37, was ‘work focused’ after they were first spotted enjoying dinner in London together on Valentine’s Day, their romance has sped up in recent weeks, with Tom pulling out all of his dating tricks to woo the actress.

Earlier this month, after jetting Ana into London from Madrid on his private jet before taking her to a Michelin-starred restaurant with a lavish private dining area for her birthday, the couple inadvertently went public when they were spotted leaving Tom’s close pal David Beckham’s 50th birthday party together.

However, while we previously reported that Tom’s older adopted children – Isabella, 32, and Connor, 30 – from his marriage to Nicole Kidman, had already met and ‘approved’ of their dad’s new girlfriend, sources now tell us that Tom has placed a ‘blanket ban’ on Ana ever bringing up Suri’s name in conversation.

The insider says, ‘Tom runs a very tight ship when it comes to his personal life and he’s made it clear to Ana from the start that if she wants to be with him, there are rules, and the biggest one is ‘Don’t bring up Suri’.

‘He doesn’t want to talk about her or have anyone even ask questions, it’s just totally off-limits.’

According to reports, Tom has barely had any contact with Suri since he and Katie, 45, split while she has remained loyally close to Katie, who famously was forced to rent a ‘secret’ apartment in New York and purchase a ‘burner’ phone so that she could flee Tom’s Church of Scientology and start a new life in New York with her daughter.

It isn’t clear at which point Tom and Katie’ relationship took a U-turn, but Tom has since confirmed (in court documents) that Katie had ‘asserted’ that one of the reasons behind their divorce had been ‘to protect Suri from the Church of Scientology’.

Suri was six years old at the time, and rumours of children being sent to Scientology schools and being ‘drafted’ into the Church’s ‘Sea Org’ organisation – in which children as young as 12 are allegedly forced to sign a billion-year pledge to the religion – had hit headlines the previous year.

It is alleged that to finalise their divorce as rapidly as possible, Katie – who has always protected her daughter like a lioness –signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement, which would keep her forever silent on what really happened.

Now the source says that for Tom, who is believed to have ‘mellowed’ over the past few years amidst his growing physical distance from Scientology’s LA headquarters whilst he filmed in the UK, his past with Suri is still too ‘painful’ to address.

Our source says, ‘His inner circle all know not to bring Suri up under any circumstances, he won’t ever talk about her. Fact is, it’s a very painful topic for Tom and he can’t stand being vulnerable or feeling weak, so he just won’t ever go there, and he won’t tolerate anyone who tries to dig into it.’

Meanwhile, his new romance with Ana appears to be at a critical turning point – one , it could be argued, that his exes know all too well.

In the first throes of romance, his pattern of behaviour, including whisking Ana away on his private jet and dining at top restaurants, is eerily reminiscent of his first date with Katie on his private jet back in 2005.

We previously reported that Katie has concerns over his new romance, with sources saying, ‘Tom might come across as this knight in shining armour at the beginning, but anyone who’s been with him long enough can attest to the fact that he’s a very intense and difficult partner.’

And now our insider says that with their new relationship now public knowledge, Tom will be doubling down on his demands for discretion in his private life, which demands that any partner he has must abide by his ‘rules of dating’.

The source says, ‘Tom doesn’t do casual, if you’re with him it’s full commitment and full discretion. He’s incredibly charming and generous, but there’s a serious structure to his life and anyone in it has to respect that.

‘He’s very particular about everything, from what they do in public to who they’re seen with.

‘He prefers they travel privately, avoid high-profile events, unless it’s part of a calculated rollout, and she’s not allowed to post anything about him on social media.’

Now, after Victoria Beckham inadvertently outed their romance after posting a picture of her husband, and Tom’s close pal, David’s private 50th birthday celebrations earlier this month, with Ana spotted clearly in the background, the insider says Tom is now tightening up on his privacy plans.

The source says, ‘He has very strict rules about what she can and can’t say about him in interviews, privacy is everything to him.

‘Tom is extremely calculated about his public image. Every photo, every appearance is deliberate, if he and Ana are seen together, it’s because he approved it.’

They add, ‘She’s had to get used to a whole new level of secrecy. Tom’s people manage everything, it’s like a machine, and if you’re not in sync, you’re out.’

And as part of Ana’s undoubtedly extravagant new lifestyle, which reportedly saw Tom splash over £8,000 just to charter his jet to take Ana to Heathrow Airport, the source says she’s also expected to keep up with Tom’s intense health schedule.

They add, ‘He’s very intense about his health regime and wants her on the same page. That means no alcohol, 5am morning workouts, and clean eating – Tom expects whoever he’s with to take care of themselves on the same level.

‘There are a ton of perks that come with dating him, but it’s definitely intense. It means living in his world, on his terms, and that includes leaving some parts of his life permanently off-limits.’
