We recently reported the blossoming bromance between Brooklyn Beckham and Prince Harry after the duo were said to have ‘double dated’ after Meghan Markle invited the eldest Beckham offspring and his wife Nicola Peltz over for a dinner at their Montecito home. 

Now, as he becomes increasingly separated both emotionally and physically from his parents David, 50, and Victoria, 51,  in a heartbreaking situation which draws many similarities to Harry’s own estrangement from the royals, a source tells us that Brooklyn, 26, sees Harry, 40, as a ‘mentor’. So much so that he’s already planning on following in his footsteps and penning his own bombshell memoir. 

The insider says, ‘Brooklyn is seeing Harry as something of a mentor these days. He really looks up to him and admires the way he’s stood up for himself and Meghan and that’s got him fired up to do the same. 

‘Brooklyn feels very misunderstood, so treading the same path as Harry and sharing his truth is very appealing. He just wants to get his side of the story on the record. For him, it feels like the only way to heal and take back control.

‘Of course it will be a huge blow to his relationship with his parents, which may already be hanging by a thread.’ 

After missing David’s 50th birthday party with his family, held at their Cotswolds home earlier this month, it was reported last week that despite numerous efforts from David and Victoria to reach out lovingly to their son, Brooklyn has had ‘no contact’ whatsoever and ‘doesn’t seem interested’ in making amends.

While the rumoured rift has been simmering behind the scenes for years since actress Nicola’s refusal to wear her mother-in-law’s own design for her wedding to Brooklyn in 2022, their feud has exploded in recent weeks, with Brooklyn making it very public earlier this month when he ‘refused’ to see David, despite being just minutes from the Beckham’s London home during a trip back to the UK.

On the other ‘team’, insiders say Brooklyn’s younger brother Romeo’s girlfriend, Kim Turnbull – who briefly dated Brooklyn back in 2016 – is being ‘used’ by Nicola, 30, as an excuse to further the rift and to distance herself from the family.

Now the source says, ‘All this talk about how David and Victoria and the rest of the family are blaming Nicola for the whole feud has only added fuel to the fire because Brooklyn feels like she’s being made the scapegoat, when all she’s done is stand for him. 

‘Brooklyn’s convinced the real issue is that his parents can’t control him anymore. The way he sees it they’re just angry that he’s making his own way in life and isn’t under their thumb anymore and they’re blaming Nicola for helping him find his voice.’

Now, as they distance themselves further from Brand Beckham, the couple are said to have been growing closer to Meghan, 43, and Harry, with Nicola and Meghan reportedly bonding over their grievances with their respective ‘in-laws’.

Meghan and Harry first stepped down as senior working royals in 2020 – two years into their marriage – with the pair later hitting the monarchy with a series of damning allegations including racism and bullying during their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey. 

And while the source now makes it clear that aspiring chef Brooklyn does not have any heinous moral crimes to lay at the feet of his family, he could be set to share his ‘truth’ in a tell-all TV chat. 

The source tells us, ‘It’s likely he’ll do a TV interview first and then, depending on how that goes, follow it up with a book. He’s not out to trash his family, he loves his parents, but he feels like his side of the story has never been told. 

‘The pressure that came with growing up as the oldest son of David and Victoria Beckham was so intense. It was like living in a fishbowl, everything he did was scrutinised.’ 

Brooklyn’s tale of growing up within one of the most famous families in the world  will undoubtedly draw comparisons with Harry’s own 2023 memoir, Spare, which while heartbreaking in its retelling of the loss of his mother, Princess Diana, has also been criticised as a ‘whinge-fest’. 

But like Harry, who buried his own emotional turmoil behind palace walls for decades, the source says Brooklyn is ready to speak out. 

They say, ‘Brooklyn’s been bottling things up for years, and it’s finally reaching a breaking point. He’s tired of pretending everything’s perfect when it’s not. 

‘He feels like no one has ever really listened to his experience, what it was like being pushed into the spotlight from the day he was born.’ 

Much like Harry’s alleged physical altercation with his brother William over Meghan when they first began dating, and the drama between Kate Middleton and Meghan over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress; the source says Brooklyn’s own narrative is likely to centre on his mum Victoria’s reported feud with Nicola. 

‘It’s no secret that Victoria clashed very badly with Nicola during the wedding preparations a few years back, there were a lot of issues, ‘ the insider says. 

‘Victoria took the whole ‘dress debacle’ very badly and when she’s upset, David gets on the defensive. They all tried very hard to move on from it, and for a while it seemed things might smooth over, but truth be told the resentment on both sides never really healed.’ 

However, the source warns that the Beckhams could be in danger of isolating Brooklyn completely if they ‘side against’ Nicola, the way Harry believes the Royal Family did with Meghan.

The insider explains, ‘As you can imagine, Brooklyn is seeing a lot of parallels between his and Harry’s experience. He’s very clear that if push comes to shove, he’ll choose Nicola every time. 

‘If it was just his own reputation getting trashed, he would be more willing to keep quiet, but the fact that his wife may get dragged through the mud too, when she’s done nothing wrong, engages him.’

They add, ‘He feels it’s his duty to speak out and protect her. He’d make many millions for a tell-all, but he insists this isn’t about money, it’s about protecting the woman he loves and his own reputation, he’s tired of staying quiet to toe the family line.’
