It has long been reported that Brad Pitt is all but totally estranged from the six children he shares with Angelina Jolie following their shock 2016 divorce. 

Yet further clarity on the heart-breaking family split came last week when his middle-daughter, Shiloh, 19, debuted her name change for the first time when she was listed as choreographer for a dance at a high-end fashion launch held in California. 

Opting to change her first name to ‘Shi’ and drop the ‘e’ from her last name, Shiloh’s name was revealed as Shi Joli – a shortening of her full legal name, Shiloh Jolie, after the budding performer officially ditched ‘Pitt’ from her name on her 18th birthday last year. 

And while what should have been a proud moment for Brad has undoubtedly been overshadowed by Shiloh’s decision to drop his famous name, her debut also comes just days after she was spotted enjoying a lunch date with her dancer pal, Keoni Rose, for her 19th birthday on 27th May. 

The friends, who are believed to have met after crossing paths in LA through their mutual love of dance – with Keoni performing Shiloh’s choreographed routine at the fashion debut – were also seen shopping together, with Keoni intimately wrapping her arm around Shiloh’s waist as the pair crossed the road. 

Whether their relationship is romantic is not known, but Shiloh and Keoni have been spotted on numerous occasions together over the past few months, with Keoni seen reaching out to push the hair out of Shiloh’s eyes during a casual burger lunch date in November. 

And now a source tells us how Brad has been left ‘worried’ that Shiloh’s friendship is hitting the headlines and fears that Angelina has given their daughter ‘too much freedom’ to live her life in the public eye. 

An insider says, ‘He’s not trying to single out Keoni or anyone else specifically, but Brad’s genuinely worried that Shiloh’s relationships are being made so public. 

‘From his point of view, she’s being given way too much freedom way too soon, and he feels like Angelina is encouraging it. He’s scared that one bad decision could change everything, and he blames Angelina for letting it get to this point. 

‘He feels just because Shiloh’s turned 18 doesn’t mean she doesn’t need to be monitored and steered away from bad situations, which doesn’t seem to be happening right now from what Brad can see.’ 

Brad’s fears come just months after Angelina, 50 – who shares Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and Vivienne and Knox, 17, with Brad –   revealed her plans to leave LA once the twins turn 18 next summer during an interview last August. 

It is unclear as to whether any of her brood will join her, but time could be running out for Brad to mend his relationships with his children. And we were recently told by a source that he plans to tell Shiloh his own version of the truth about his marriage to Angelina, which ended in 2016, in the hope that she will gain some perspective after the way he believes things have been spun around her by Angelina.

The insider told us, ‘He intends to fight fire with fire. Shiloh is an adult now and he thinks she can take it. He doesn’t have to sugar-coat anything.’ 

Even now, Shiloh is believed to still maintain some contact with her dad, but the legal filing to change her name last year, which Shiloh’s attorney described as having been catalysed by ‘painful events’, appeared to mark the end of Brad’s ‘claims’ to his eldest biological daughter. 

In April, Shiloh was also spotted with a haircut reminiscent of the braids that Angelina famously wore during her role as Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider franchise. And the source says that after being named ‘Brad’s mini-me’ for so many years, seeing her emulate her mum’s looks, and now officially adopt her name, has been painful for Brad.

A source previously told us, ‘For years Shiloh dressed like him and was very much his mini-me, but now it’s clear that she’s been heavily influenced by her mum and has tried to blot out any resemblance of her father in her looks and appearance.’

Now our insider adds, ‘Brad would deny having a favourite kid per say but everyone knows that Shiloh was the ultimate daddy’s girl growing up, she was the apple of his eye throughout her whole childhood. 

‘So of all the heartbreak and rejection he’s suffered these past few years, this is the one that stings and hurts him the most. He just can’t wrap his head around how she’d drop his last name and essentially turn her back on their relationship after she turned 18.’ 

However, while the source says Brad knows that Shiloh ‘is on her mum’s side at the end of day’, they reveal that he still tries to reach out to her and gain any insight into her life that he can. 

They tell us, ‘It’s especially hard because he doesn’t see her and barely even speaks to her these days so he feels totally helpless. He hears bits and pieces from other people – that she’s staying out late, spending more and more nights away from home, and constantly surrounded by new faces he doesn’t know or trust. 

‘He would love to be able to step in and at least talk to her about all of his fears and tell her how proud he is of her dancing. He would also love some peace of mind, but he’s totally shut off from her life and just worrying from the sidelines. For those close to him, it’s heartbreaking to see.’
