In a family feud to rival the royals, the Beckhams’ rift with their estranged eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham has now been rumbling on for months, and appears to be turning more toxic by the day.

It’s been three months since Brooklyn and Nicola’s absence from football legend David’s 50th birthday celebrations in London, which marked a huge turning point. Up until then, the feud had been mostly rumbling behind-closed-doors, but their decision to swerve such a special moment for Brooklyn’s family cemented the sad divide in the most public way.

But it seems that Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, haven’t stopped there. Last week it emerged that the pair, who celebrated their third wedding anniversary in April, have snubbed the Beckham clan once again having secretly renewed their wedding vows in an intimate ceremony on August 3rd.

Now a source tells Closer that Nicola is still struggling to move on from her feud with Victoria, 49, which is reported to have begun when the Spice Girl turned fashion mogul allegedly left Nicola ‘in tears’ on her own wedding day in 2022 when she ‘hijacked’ her First Dance and, whether intentionally or not, appeared to make Nicola’s Big Day all about her.

An insider says, ‘The fact that Nicola and Brooklyn went ahead and renewed their vows without his family present says everything you need to know. Nicola is not making any concessions and the whole wedding fiasco is still front and centre of her mind, it has not been forgotten.

‘She can’t just brush this aside, she was treated abysmally during one of the most important moments of her life and there’s been zero accountability.’

Last month had brought hopes of a reconciliation when Brooklyn and Nicola were photographed enjoying lunch with his godfather and long-time family friend, Elton John, at the swanky La Guerite beach club in St Tropez.

At the time insiders had revealed how Elton had ‘briefly’ passed comment on their family feud, saying, ‘Elton and David think the situation is terribly sad, and [he] has gently suggested to all involved that life is short – to patch things up.’

Yet it seems that even Elton can’t convince Nicole to make amends, as our source reveals that while she ‘respects’ him greatly, any nudge towards a truce with Victoria is out of the question for now.

They tell us, ‘After all the trash talking that Victoria has done, Nicola’s not in any kind of mood to forgive or and forget. Sure, it’s all well and good for Elton to play peacemaker, but he wasn’t the one who was treated terribly and whose wedding day was ruined. Nicola can’t just let that go.

‘She appreciates that Elton cares, she respects him and has promised that she will be cordial to Victoria, but she’s not going to fake some sort of happy bond. She has no interest in breaking bread or grovelling.’

However, while Nicola won’t be the one to make the first move, our insider reveals that the actress and billionaire’s daughter has delivered a shock ultimatum to Victoria and is demanding that any reconciliation comes with a genuine apology from her mother-in-law.

The source says, ‘She feels like she’s already compromised enough by agreeing to be civil in public, but behind closed doors she’s not interested in any sort of reconciliation unless it comes with a real apology.

‘But she’s not going to chase after it. She’s telling people she’s stopped caring at all and that it’s a huge weight off her shoulders. She and Brooklyn are getting on with their lives and have given up worrying about pleasing his parents. Brooklyn has been so supportive, which means everything to Nicola.’

If this narrative seems familiar, it is. After reportedly meeting up with Victoria’s ‘nemesis’ Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for dinner at their Montecito home in May, Brooklyn and Nicola’s own narrative bears so much resemblance to the Sussexes’ own that the duo have been accused of using the ‘blueprint’ of the royal feud.

And our source confirms, ‘She believes her new BFF Meghan Markle’s got it right, you’ve got to respect yourself and not let people mistreat you, no matter how powerful they are.

‘So if Victoria wants this peace, which she clearly does since she’s enlisted Elton to push it along, she will need to swallow her pride and admit she’s been hideously unfair towards Nicola.’

They add, ‘And like Harry, Brooklyn is fully backing her and so is her very powerful family, so she feels very secure in her position. She’s very confident that she doesn’t need the support of her in-laws.’

Now, as the bitter rift shows no signs of slowing, with Brooklyn moving further away from his family after unfollowing brothers Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 20, on social media, the source says those close to Victoria are urging her to reconsider before it’s too late and one of her greatest fears turns into reality.

The insider says, ‘It’s now completely feasible that Victoria’s nightmare scenario where she is cut off from her first grandkids could come to pass.

‘She’s very aware of that, it’s something she’s expressed to friends many times over. A lot are urging her to be the adult in the situation and take action to fix things because clearly Brooklyn is not going to come around. And Nicola certainly isn’t going to budge.’

Meanwhile, the distance from his own family has only led to Brooklyn’s growing closeness to his in-laws, billionaire investor Nelson Peltz and model Claudia Heffner Peltz and Nicola’s seven siblings.

Alongside spending lots of time with Nicola’s tight knit family, the couple have also splashed out $16 million on a home in Beverly Hills in December after renting in the area – a move that has further cemented their future stateside.

And now our source says that, most heartbreakingly of all, Brooklyn continues to distance himself from his mum as he fully supports his wife’s decisions.

They tell us, ‘He was always so close to his mum, their bond really could have driven a wedge between him and Nicola, but he’s been 100% on his wife’s side which has only made her fall more in love with him.

‘They are truly a unit and if Victoria wants her son and her grandkids in her life she’s going to have to show some serious humility, and it’s Nicola that she will have to win back. Brooklyn is very clear that he’s not open to a relationship without Nicola giving her blessing.’
