Indeed, everyone was at the event \u2013 including Rachel Weisz and husband Daniel Craig, Kate Moss, John Krasinski and wife Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Sofia Vergara and Cindy Crawford. In other words, everyone, that is, except for two glaringly obvious absentees: the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. <\/p>\n
According to insiders, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were left devastated when they received word of the invite snub, which seemed to confirm all their concerns about the state of their friendship with the Clooneys. Having worked hard in the past to foster relations with the pair, they\u2019ve received subtle hints over the past few months that, as far as George and Amal are concerned, the friendship is over. But this, we\u2019re told, was the starkest sign yet. <\/p>\n
\u201cMeghan and Harry were extremely hurt that they weren\u2019t invited to the Albie Awards,\u201d says an insider close to the couple, who have been on something of a campaign in recent months to increase their social standing. \u201cThis is exactly the kind of event they would have loved to attend. It\u2019s pretty humiliating to be snubbed like this, and it really proves once and for all that George and Amal have some sort of issue with them. It\u2019s just so baffling because they\u2019ve never done anything to warrant this sort of treatment. As far as they can see, it\u2019s come totally out of left field.\u201d<\/p>\n

With Meghan and Harry making their complaints against Harry\u2019s estranged family louder than ever, sources say that George and Amal no longer feel their values align. Rather than orchestrating a mighty fall-out, they\u2019re simply letting their silence do the talking.<\/p>\n

As Closer has previously told you, the formerly royal couple have been on a turbocharged mission to win friends and influence people as part of a new PR strategy.
