He recently admitted he was \u201cembarrassed\u201d standing next to his wife Amal Clooney on the red carpet as she always steals the show and insiders say Hollywood heartthrob George continues to struggle playing second fiddle to his glamorous wife.<\/p>\n
A source says, \u201cGeorge used to be the one that everyone wanted to talk to, but these days Amal is getting way more attention when they\u2019re out mingling. Sure, people will recognise him and be friendly, but it\u2019s Amal that they gush over.\u201d<\/p>\n
They add, \u201cShe\u2019s always very gracious, talking to everyone and charming the room while George is just left standing beside her like chopped liver.\u201d<\/p>\n
Last week, all eyes were on Amal at the Los Angeles premiere of The Boys in the Boat, a film about\u00a0University\u00a0of\u00a0Washington’s rowing team\u2019s Olympic gold achievement in the 1930s, which is produced and directed by George.<\/p>\n
Human rights lawyer Amal, 45, stunned in a bright yellow custom-made Versace dress, which she teamed with a sparkling gold clutch and Cartier statement earrings featuring both yellow and white diamonds.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe cleans up,\u201d the Ocean\u2019s Eleven actor said. George, 62, added, \u201cI\u2019m always embarrassed because I\u2019m wearing something that I\u2019ve worn, like, 1,000 times\u201d. He then joked that his \u201centire career has been reduced to a plus one now.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI did one of those Women in Film things a couple years ago, and I had to introduce myself as \u2018Amal Clooney\u2019s husband\u2019 because, honestly, I was dead otherwise,\u201d he laughed.
