According to insiders, the singer is beside herself with worry over the wellbeing of Elijah Blue Allman, 47, and is doing all she can to help him in his darkest hour as he spirals with addiction, despite all his efforts to push his mum away. And things are getting uglier by the day.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0Believe\u00a0singer hit the headlines last week, after it emerged that she had filed to hold a conservatorship over Elijah \u2013 which would enable her to control his finances \u2013 due to his \u201csevere mental health and substance abuse issues\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0Elijah, who is Cher\u2019s only son with her late ex-husband, rocker Gregg Allman of The Allman Brothers Band, is entitled to money from a trust fund. However, in court documents filed by the singer, she claims that a conservatorship is \u201curgently needed\u2026to protect Elijah\u2019s property from loss or injury\u201d because he is \u201ccurrently unable to manage his assets\u201d. She adds that her son will be \u201centitled to regular distributions from the Trust, but given his ongoing mental health and substance abuse issues, [she] is concerned that any funds distributed to Elijah will be immediately spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself and putting Elijah\u2019s life at risk.\u201d<\/p>\n
