It\u2019s been just three months since Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck\u2019s divorce was finalised \u2013 just two-and-half years since the couple said \u2018I do\u2019 to a marriage that fans believed could be the greatest love story in showbiz.<\/p>\n
And while the pair had stayed quiet about the reasons behind their shock split last April, last week Ben, 52, uncharacteristically spoke out about the breakdown of his 19-month whirlwind marriage to J-Lo, 55, labelling the reasons for their split as \u2018embarrassing\u2019.<\/p>\n
Now a source says J-Lo, who has always been happy to speak candidly about her personal life to fans, is \u2018seeing red\u2019 after reportedly making a divorce pact with Ben to keep the details of their split private.<\/p>\n
The insider says, \u2018When they split up, they both agreed not to talk about it, and yet here he is going back on his word.<\/p>\n
\u2018She doesn\u2019t understand why he\u2019s even talking about their divorce, he\u2019s the one that\u2019s always made such a big deal about wanting privacy and yet here he is milking his connection to her for the sake of his PR campaign.’<\/p>\n
They add, \u2018She has plenty of things she\u2019d like to get off her chest but she\u2019s been staying quiet out of respect for him. But not anymore, she’s sick and tired of his double standards. She\u2019s seeing red.\u2019<\/p>\n
In an interview for GQ magazine, Ben, whose reluctance to \u2018play up\u2019 to cameras and the media had caused tension throughout his second marriage, opened up about the differences between himself and J-Lo – giving fans a heavy hint that her lack of privacy may have played a part in the breakdown of their relationship.<\/p>\n
The Hollywood actor and director admitted, \u2018The reason I don\u2019t want to share [the details of their marriage and split is] that is just sort of embarrassing. Appearing to reference J-Lo\u2019s proficiency in the limelight, Ben added, \u2018There are a lot of people who I think have handled celebrity more adeptly and more adroitly than I have, Jennifer among them. My temperament is to be a little bit more reserved and private than hers.\u2019 <\/p>\n
To add salt to the wound, the Oscar winner also described his ex-wife of ten years, actress Jennifer Garner – with whom he shares Violet, 19, Fin, 16 and Sam, 13, with \u2013 as \u2018wonderful\u2019 and \u2018great\u2019. <\/p>\n
Ben also sparked recent speculation that he wanted to reunite with his ex-wife, 52, who has been dating boyfriend Jon Miller for seven years, after the former couple were seen embracing on a recent paintball trip with their children.<\/p>\n
And now the source says J-Lo has been left infuriated by the whole situation.<\/p>\n
\u2018He really got her hackles up by using the word \u2018embarrassing\u2019,\u2019 the insider says. <\/p>\n
\u2018It doesn\u2019t matter to her what the context was, she finds it incredibly thoughtless and disrespectful. Ben has been around long enough to know that a word like that is going to automatically make headlines. It\u2019s just too juicy to ignore.\u2019 <\/p>\n
And the source says Ben’s admission came as a shock to J-Lo, after the singer previoulsy revealed that Ben didn’t feel ‘comfortable’ with his personal life being in the limelight – something he has also admitted.<\/p>\n
Speaking about her 2024 Prime documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, Jennifer said, \u2018I don’t think [Ben] is very comfortable with me doing all of this. But he loves me, he knows I’m an artist, and he’s gonna support me in every way he can\u2026<\/p>\n
‘He doesn’t want to stop me. But that doesn’t mean he’s comfortable being the muse.’<\/p>\n
