Last week, the former Friends actress was spotted holidaying on a cruise ship in Mallorca with author and wellness guru Jim Curtis \u2013 who amongst his fans is known as \u2018Hypnotist Jim\u2019. <\/p>\n
The pair were spotted enjoying the 4th July weekend with Jen\u2019s close friends, actor Jason Bateman and his wife, Amanda Anka.<\/p>\n
Jen, 56, certainly appeared to have fallen under his spell, and the attraction seemed mutual when Jim, 49, was pictured holding hands with the star and massaging her back. In another snap, The Morning Show actress is also seen placing her hand on his thigh as he stroked her hair. <\/p>\n
The duo – who one report suggested have been \u2018dating in plain sight\u2019 – were also spotted enjoying dinner at a restaurant in California last month and insiders have now confirmed that Jen and Jim (we\u2019re calling \u2018Jem\u2019) are \u2018casually dating and having fun\u2019 after meeting through mutual friends. <\/p>\n
Another source added, \u2018[Jen] feels very connected to Jim, as they have the same level of emotional intelligence, unlike some of her previous suitors.\u2019 <\/p>\n
And while Jen\u2019s new love regularly posts inspirational quotes on love and life and moving on from pain \u2013 showing a spiritual side that appears to sync with Jen\u2019s own holistic beliefs \u2013 a source now tells Closer how some elements of his past that he has chosen to share through his two books have raised eyebrows, and alarm bells, amongst Jen\u2019s closest friends.<\/p>\n

The insider says, \u2018Jim is charming and charismatic, no doubt about it, everyone was delighted at first. But now some of his past behaviour is being dug up and it\u2019s raising major red flags. <\/p>\n
‘He\u2019s been very open about the fact that he\u2019s struggled to keep a relationship. He has a history of intense relationships that didn\u2019t end well, and apparently even his ties with his own family are strained, so of course alarm bells are going off for some of Jen\u2019s friends.’<\/p>\n
They continue, \u2018They\u2019re telling her to pump the brakes and really get to know this guy before she hands over her heart. In his 2017 book, \u2018The Stimulati Experience,\u2019 in which he details his own path to restoring \u2018health and happiness\u2019 after being diagnosed with lesions on his spine at 22, Jim also gets candid about his past relationships, including his marriage to former waitress Rachel Napolitano, who he married in 2003. <\/p>\n
\u2018I think she\u2019s really hot,\u2019 Curtis said at the time, after having dated her for four years. \u2018I like to watch her walk. I find myself, even four years later, turning around to watch her walk by me. She just looks good.\u2019 <\/p>\n
But their romance broke down after welcoming their son, now a teenager who lives with his mum in New York, who Jim admitted he \u2018wished\u2019 he had a better relationship with. <\/p>\n
Yet following their split, Jim details a period of dating where he admits he would move on every three months due to commitment issues. He wrote, \u2018I can\u2019t keep a girlfriend because I get bored.\u2019 <\/p>\n
When he later fell in love with a woman he calls \u2018Lucy Lou\u2019, Jim admitted how, following their break-up, he would stalk her new boyfriend on Facebook and feel so much regret that he would write \u2018details of my shame\u2019 on paper and burn them while alone. <\/p>\n
In his second book about manifestation, Jim also details a ‘a period of heroic drinking [and] drugging\u2019 and reveals how he crashed his bike while high on magic mushrooms.\u2019<\/p>\n
But it appears his unflinching honesty has only attracted Jen to Jim even more.<\/p>\n
\u2018He makes her feel loved, centred and happy,\u2019 the source says. <\/p>\n
\u2018There\u2019s a soulfulness and maturity about Jim that she doesn\u2019t remember having with any other guy before.\u2019 <\/p>\n
Jen herself appeared to hint at this surprise turn in her stars, reposting a social media quote that reads, \u2018The Friends theme song was right, no one told us life was gonna be this way.\u2019 <\/p>\n
And usually private about her romantic life, the source says Jen \u2013 who recommended Jim\u2019s book on Instagram so is aware of his past – has already been introducing her new beau to her friends. <\/p>\n
The insider says , \u2018She\u2019d already introduced Jim to her core friends in LA before this vacation but it was a big step for her to go away with Jason [Bateman] and his wife Amanda who are like brother and sister to her these days, even ahead of Courteney, though they\u2019re still close too. <\/p>\n
