Now, 13 years on and Katie, who is reported not to have spoken to Tom since their split and retains sole custody of their daughter, Suri, 19, has caused widespread shock and confusion after \u2018liking\u2019 an Instagram post detailing her ex\u2019s budding romance with actress and his upcoming co-star, Ana De Armas.\u00a0<\/p>\n
And now a source tells\u00a0Closer\u00a0how Tom has been left \u2018paranoid\u2019 and \u2018uneasy\u2019 after hearing the news and is keen to send out one very clear message to Katie.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The post, which appeared on the social media page of a national newspaper, included a carousel of images of Tom, 63, and Ana, 37, emblazoned with the headline, \u2018Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas love affair confirmed.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n
And while Katie, 46, was seen to like the story, which contained pictures of the rumoured couple enjoying a night out at London\u2019s KOL restaurant on Ana\u2019s 37thbirthday back in April, she later quickly \u2018undid\u2019 her like \u2013 but not before readers had been left shocked by her sudden interest in the life of her estranged ex.,\u00a0<\/p>\n

The\u00a0insider says, \u2018Tom and\u00a0Katie\u00a0have been living their own lives and not communicated in years, so he is totally stunned and can\u2019t understand why\u00a0Katie\u00a0is stalking his romance and leaving \u2018likes\u2019 on it.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Following their first \u2018romantic\u2019 outing to a restaurant in London\u2019s Soho on Valentine\u2019s Day, Tom and Ana \u2013 who are currently working together on supernatural thriller\u00a0Deeper, have now been seen on multiple occasions together, including several private jet flights and dinner in London for her 37th birthday, as well as attending Tom\u2019s close pal David Beckham\u2019s birthday party together.<\/p>\n
Late last month it was also reported that the pair had been spotted dining privately at exclusive London club, Annabel\u2019s, following reports they\u2019ve shared several evenings at the notoriously discreet celebrity hotspot.<\/p>\n
Now the source says that, as Tom moves on with his future, with an insider recently telling us that he hopes to have a family with Ana, the\u00a0Risky Business\u00a0star wants to leave his past firmly behind him.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After their split, it was widely reported that Katie had been forced to form an \u2018escape plan\u2019 which included a \u2018gateway apartment\u2019 in New York and a ‘burner phone’, so that she and Suri couldn\u2019t be traced when she left.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Tom\u00a0has since confirmed that\u00a0Katie\u00a0had \u2018asserted\u2019 that one of the reasons behind their divorce had been \u2018to protect Suri from the Church of Scientology, of which he is a prominent member.\u00a0<\/p>\n
And perhaps notably, Tom\u2019s $400,000 in child support for his estranged daughter are believed to have ended when she turned 18 last April \u2013 further cutting Katie\u2019s ties from Tom, although it\u2019s believed she signed an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) as part of their divorce deal, meaning she\u2019ll never truly have the freedom to speak out.<\/p>\n
Now, while we recently reported that Tom has moved on and has reached out to his second wife (Katie being his third), actress Nicole Kidman, the source tells us Tom will never be ready to bury the\u00a0hatchet with Katie.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u2018He might have made peace with a lot of people recently but no way he\u2019s sitting down with\u00a0Katie\u00a0for a latte,\u2019 the insider says.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u2018He hasn\u2019t forgiven her for the way the divorce went down. It was brutal, one day they were married and the next she was gone, lawyers lined up, and he never even got to say goodbye. He always saw it as a betrayal.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n
The insider says Tom is also very aware that, with such a rocky history behind them, it\u2019s unlikely that Katie\u2019s \u2018like\u2019 was any sort of covert sign of an olive branch being reached out.\u00a0<\/p>\n
And while it seems likely Katie had an innocent slip of the thumb that all exes have probably been guilty of at one point in their lives, we\u2019re told, \u2018from Tom\u2019s perspective, there\u2019s no innocent explanation.<\/p>\n
