A Hollywood bad boy is planning to spill all about his drug-fuelled past and sex addiction in an upcoming documentary on Netflix.<\/p>\n
According to the show\u2019s trailer, \u2018nothing\u2019 will be off limits \u2013 but according to insiders, his decision to air his dirty laundry in public hasn\u2019t gone down too well with his family.<\/p>\n
Insiders say Martin Sheen refused to get involved in son Charlie\u2019s two-part docuseries because it\u2019s all too much for him to handle.<\/p>\n
\u2018Charlie\u2019s doing this because he\u2019s desperate for closure,\u2019 a source tells us.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u2018He feels terrible over what he put his father through; he has so much guilt and he still gets teary thinking about it. That\u2019s where father and son disagree. Martin\u2019s not too keen on Charlie laying it all out in vivid detail about his past addiction to drugs and prostitutes. He loves his son dearly but disagrees with him. To Martin, this is a private family matter. He didn\u2019t deprive him the right to make a documentary, but he didn\u2019t want to be involved either. Charlie gives a very graphic account of his shenanigans. Martin\u2019s not going to disown him or anything, but the fact is he\u2019s an old school guy and very religious. He doesn\u2019t like dirty laundry aired in public.\u2019<\/p>\n
The documentary \u2013 titled aka Charlie Sheen \u2013 will premiere on 10th September, one day after the release of his memoir. It will coincide with the Mad Men actor\u2019s 60th\u00a0birthday on 3rd September.<\/p>\n
Now almost eight years sober, Charlie will talk about the \u2018suffocating shame\u2019 he\u2019s experienced and how he experimented with \u2018everything\u2019 during drug addiction.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u2018When you got a lot of shame about a lot of stuff… Shame is suffocating,\u2019 he confesses in the trailer. ‘I lit the fuse, you know, and my life turns into everything it wasn’t supposed to be. The stuff that I plan on sharing, I had made a sacred vow to only reveal to a therapist.’<\/p>\n
In a teary admission, Charlie (real name Carlos Est\u00e9vez) is also heard talking about letting down his Emmy-winning father with his wild antics.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Wiping away tears, he says, ‘I can’t imagine being my dad. I really hurt the people I love.\u2019<\/p>\n

He made so many mistakes and wronged so many people when he was in his addiction, he wants to make amends on a grand scale and since his screw-ups were so public, he feels like his apologies should be just as public.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He\u2019s grateful that so many of his loved ones were willing to participate in this, really his dad was the only hold out.\u2019<\/p>\n
In one scene, Charlie embraces his 20-year-old daughter Lola Sheen, who tells the camera, \u2018You can\u2019t really have a relationship with someone going through addiction\u2019.<\/p>\n
Viewers also hear from the star\u2019s childhood friend Sean Penn, who recalls, \u2018He started experimenting with um\u2026 everything. Now, Charlie\u2019s sober. He\u2019s going to tell you the truth.\u2019<\/p>\n
The documentary also features his former drug dealer Marco, who shockingly reveals, ‘When\u00a0Charlie said that he was smoking seven-gram [crack cocaine] rocks, he was smoking seven-gram rocks.’<\/p>\n

In 2011, Sheen was fired from his lucrative acting gig on CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men, in which he played Charlie Harper, after his third stint in rehab in 12 months.<\/p>\n
Two years later,\u00a0he appeared on Katie Couric’s talk show and revealed why he was let go.<\/p>\n
\u2018I think I just started partying too hard. I was having way too much fun,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n
Even Sheen\u2019s second ex-wife\u00a0Denise Richards, third ex-wife Brooke Mueller and showrunner Chuck Lorre, who he notoriously fell out with, make an appearance, as well as his Two and a Half Men co-star Jon Cryer, his Money Talks co-star Chris Tucker and big brother Ram\u00f3n Est\u00e9vez.<\/p>\n
But those noticeably absent from the line-up include his 85-year-old father, his eldest brother Emilio Est\u00e9vez, and his estranged 21-year-old daughter Sami Sheen.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s incredibly happy that Charlie’s finally sobered up and has his act together and they\u2019ve had plenty of heart to hearts in private about it, but the idea of making such a personal moment public is horrifying to Martin. It\u2019s just not how he\u2019s wired. He supports Charlie and he always will, but he\u2019s not going to sit down in front of a crew and pick through the wreckage of the past, he finds it embarrassing and unnecessary.<\/p>\n
Charlie is trying to be respectful of that, even though it\u2019s a disappointment because he was really hoping his dad would stand by him for this. But as much as Martin loves his son, he\u2019s got his own way of doing things.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s in his 80\u2019s and feels he\u2019s earned the right to live without dredging up every nightmare he\u2019s lived through. That\u2019s not to say he isn\u2019t proud of Charlie\u2019s progress, he just doesn\u2019t see why he needs to bring up all the dark stuff again, he wishes they could leave it in the past.\u2019<\/p>\n
