The \u2018Bop House\u2019 has over 3.5million followers on TikTok, made up of eight creators with a combined following of 33million.<\/p>\n Content houses are nothing new on TikTok, in fact the trend started years before the app became popular, over on YouTube. Internet star Jake Paul created the house Team Ten in 2016 with members gaining a combined 100million followers between them, and David Dobrick\u2019s popularity can largely be attributed to his group of friends that regularly appeared in his vlogs. On TikTok, popular content houses have included the Hype House \u2013 home to TikTok\u2019s once most followed person, Charli D\u2019Amelio \u2013 and Sway House, whose combined following was also in the millions before it disbanded.<\/p>\n For influencers trying to make their mark on the industry, content houses provide a unique opportunity to work tirelessly with other popular creators and create a core group of friends that audiences cling to. Think about it, what would young people love to watch more than drama and love triangles between a group of \u2018real people\u2019 on the app? At a time when generation Z and alpha in particular are more isolated than ever, struggling to make their own friends, watching the group dynamics of members in popular content houses must be gripping.<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_code _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][\/et_pb_code][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content” sticky_enabled=”0″] In terms of profit, the Bop House puts its PG counterparts out of business. As a group, the women made $10million in December alone last year. Yeah. So, who are these mysterious Bop House member and more importantly, what the hell does \u2018Bop\u2019 mean? Allow us to explain.<\/p>\n Technically, \u2018bop\u2019 stands for \u2018baddie on point\u2019 and is used to describe people who use their body to make money. That said, it\u2019s also become synonymous with derogatory terms like \u2018slut\u2019 and \u2018whore\u2019, used interchangeably as a compliment or an insult depending on whose levying it (read: boys for the latter). The Bop House girls then are set out to do what us millennials did way back when, reclaiming the label \u2018bop\u2019 as something to wear proudly as opposed to being stigmatised.\u00a0<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″] The Bop House then is a group of girls who all make money through OnlyFans, but their content on TikTok is strictly PG, of course. Nonetheless, its drawn criticism from viewers who worry the content unintentionally glamourises adult content creation, as well as those who feel its existence itself is inappropriate on an app that was initially designed for tweens and teens. Of course, TikTok is now home to users of all ages, but given the Bop House content is often used in promotion of the individual members OnlyFans accounts there is still question marks around how appropriate their content is.<\/p>\n There\u2019s also been debate around the perceived age of some of the creators involved in the house. While all the members are adults, the youngest being 19, many viewers have remarked that they look younger. One member even commented on it when another made $54,000 in a week after joining OnlyFans, saying in a now viral clip \u2018Y\u2019all are sick f***s because she looks 12.\u2019<\/p>\n The thing with the Bop House is, it\u2019s difficult to distinguish between earnest criticism and those that are lined with misogyny and slut-shaming. If the Playboy mansion were made today, it wouldn\u2019t be too dissimilar from The Bop House, and yet Hugh Hefner was lauded for his ability to propel models into stardom with a frontpage spread. Now that these women, albeit young women, are choosing to take this business into their own hands, there\u2019s a problem? It\u2019s worth questioning how much of this criticism is genuine, and what\u2019s actually just an attempt to remove these women\u2019s agency.<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_code _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″] Julia Filippo<\/strong><\/p>\n The aforementioned OnlyFans star who made such a huge sum in her first week is Julia Filippo, a 23-year-old former assistant who joined the house initially to work for another member. She has since developed over 3.4million followers on TikTok.<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_code _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″] Camilla Araujo <\/strong><\/p>\n The leader of the group is 23-year-old Camilla, with 9.2million followers and over 426million likes on TikTok, she\u2019s made headlines for viral videos in which she spoke to her brother about how being a prominent OnlyFans star impacts him emotionally. The conversation didn\u2019t go very well, but it boosted Camilla\u2019s virality tenfold.<\/p>\n The less headline-making members of the group include Aishah Sofey, who has 6.5million followers on TikTok, Alina Rose, who has 5.8million and Summer Iris who has 1.5million as well as Ava Reyes who has just under 1million.<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_code _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″] Sophie Rain<\/strong><\/p>\n The most popular member of the Bop House is 20-year-old Sophie Rain, who went viral earlier this year when she claimed she made $43million in one year on OnlyFans. A devout Christian, Rain has also made headlines for her vow of chastity, some would argue it\u2019s her content USP on OnlyFans.
