Diddy is on trial for charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to these charges.<\/p>\n The mogul\u2019s ex-aide \u2013 who appeared in court to testify under a pseudonym, Mia \u2013 recounted loving messages she sent to Diddy after he allegedly abused and raped her, describing herself as being \u2018brainwashed\u2019 while working for Diddy. \u2018Nobody acted like what was happening to me was wrong,\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n Last week, she told jurors that she had been assaulted and abused, as well as being a recipient of physical and verbal abuse throughout her time within Diddy\u2019s employment. Mia added that Diddy threatened to tell his then-girlfriend Cassie about their sexual encounters, leading her to \u2018internalise, blame and shame\u2019.<\/p>\n As the trial continues, yet another celebrity name was introduced into the mix \u2013 Kid Cudi, Brad Pitt, Michael B Jordan have also been referenced \u2013 with Mia describing a dream she had about R Kelly, and how she confided in Diddy about it. I was trapped in an elevator with R Kelly and you came to rescue me.\u2019<\/p>\n In 2021, Kelly was convicted of \u2018all nine counts of a superseding indictment charging him with racketeering predicated on criminal conduct including sexual exploitation of children, forced labor and Mann Act violations involving the coercion and transportation of women and girls in interstate commerce to engage in illegal sexual activity\u2019. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison.<\/p>\n US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Breon Peace announced Kelly\u2019s sentence, along with the following statement: \u2018R. Kelly used his fame, fortune and enablers to prey on the young, the vulnerable and the voiceless for his own sexual gratification, while many turned a blind eye. Through his actions, Kelly exhibited a callous disregard for the devastation his crimes had on his victims and has shown no remorse for his conduct.<\/p>\n \u2018With today\u2019s sentence he has finally and appropriately been held accountable for his decades of abuse, exploitation and degradation of teenagers and other vulnerable young people. We hope that today\u2019s sentence brings some measure of comfort and closure to the victims, including those who bravely testified at trial, and serves as long-overdue recognition that their voices deserve to be heard and their lives matter.\u2019 \u2018Why are you reaching out to Mr. Combs, telling him this?\u2019 Brian Steel asked Mia, asking why she would do so if Diddy allegedly abused her and gave her PTSD.<\/p>\n \u2018Puff used to be my protector,\u2019 Mia explained, adding that Diddy had recently lost his longtime partner Kim Porter \u2013 who died in 2018 from pneumonia \u2013and she felt that she wanted to let him know that she was thinking of him. \u2018Kim had just passed away and I felt horrible for him,\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n Steel questioned Mia why she was sending such messages of concern months after Porter\u2019s death, again in light of the accusations she has made against him of abuse. \u2018It’s five months later and you are having thoughts that he’s your savior, and you’re sending him all the love in the world?\u2019<\/p>\n Mia responded that she didn\u2019t feel that five months was a long timeframe, and that she felt that Diddy would grieve Porter \u2013 the former couple share four children \u2013 for the rest of his life.<\/p>\n Other texts between Diddy and Mia referenced other celebrity names such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Chadwick Boseman and Jennifer Lopez. She also described witnessing an interaction between Diddy and his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who has accused him of physical abuse, control and violence at his trial. Diddy\u2019s defence lawyer questioned Mia on why she would reach out to her boss about these dreams and concerns regarding R Kelly. The docuseries Surviving R.
