However, one thing seems to go round in circles, and that\u2019s pubic hair. Over the years we\u2019ve seen women (and men) subjected to all kinds of nether region maintenance advice, but none seem to stick.<\/p>\n It does, after all, come down to personal preference. While plenty of people opt for a smooth finish, often paying a great deal of money to wax or lazer off every last hair, some warmly embrace the full \u201880s bush. The latter is a club that includes several household names too.<\/p>\n Rumour has it Emma Watson, Amber Rose and Seth Rogen all prefer a fuller finish. Rose, for one, started a #bringbackthebush revolution in 2017 to promote her third annual SlutWalk. She posted a bush-forward photo on Instagram and encouraged her fans to, \u2018Post your version of my picture and hashtag #AmberRoseChallenge behalf of feminism, body positivity and not conforming to society norms of how we should live, what we should wear and where we should shave.\u2019<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Solange Knowles once called Brazilian waxes \u2013 where all but a \u2018landing strip\u2019 is removed \u2013 an unnecessary \u2018evil\u2019. She once tweeted, \u2018Whoever invented the bikini wax was an evil creature. Who said bushes need to be gone?\u2019. Gwyneth Paltrow, famed for her comfortable relationship with sex, nudity and, of course, vagina candles, once described her situation as more of a \u201870s vibe\u2019, asking, \u2018You know what I mean?\u2019 <\/p>\n Harry Potter<\/em> star Watson also once revealed in passing that she does not shave her pubes. Speaking about Fur Oil in an interview with Into The Gloss<\/em>, she said, \u2018I\u2019ll use that anywhere from the ends of my hair to my eyebrows to my pubic hair. It\u2019s an amazing all-purpose product.\u2019<\/p>\n It\u2019s not just women either, of course, Rogen has described \u2018manscaping\u2019 as a \u2018lifelong battle\u2019. Adding, \u2018I used to trim them, and they would grow back thicker, so where I\u2019m at now with it is I let them grow out then I put them in a bun.\u2019<\/p>\n Other stars, like Rose, make no secret of their healthy relationship with their body hair. In fact, one chapter in Cameron Diaz\u2019s book, The Body Book<\/em>, is dedicated to the subject. Titled \u2018In Praise of Pubes,\u2019 Diaz asks, \u2018Just like every other part of your body, your labia major is not immune to gravity. Do you really want a hairless vagina for the rest of your life?\u2019<\/p>\n It’s an interesting question. As we said before, a lot of these societal pressures and cultural preferences change with time. The decision to lazer off your hair entirely is a bold one \u2013 and one you can\u2019t turn back on. As Rachel McAdams once said: \u2018I\u2019m going to give you the advice [my mother gave]: \u201cOnce you start, you can never stop.\u201d And I remember rolling my eyes about that and thinking: \u201cUgh, that\u2019s not the fun answer.\u201d But it’s so true. Life is long, shaving is intense. But if you\u2019re going to go ahead with it anyway, watch the ankle bones, the shins\u2026 Always have shaving cream.\u2019 She then added, \u2018And if you want to stop shaving again one day, that\u2019s okay too.\u2019<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text module_class=”custom-quote” _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” header_2_font=”Libre Bodoni|||on|||||” header_2_text_align=”center” header_2_text_color=”#333333″ header_2_font_size=”40px” header_2_line_height=”1.2em” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content” sticky_enabled=”0″] Model and actress Emily Ratajkowski is another fierce advocate for women\u2019s right to do what they want. \u2018For me, body hair is another opportunity for women to exercise their ability to choose,\u2019 she wrote in an essay on femininity for Harper\u2019s Bazaar<\/em>. \u2018A choice based on how they want to feel and their associations with having or not having body hair.\u2019<\/p>\n \u2018I tend to like to shave,\u2019 she continued, \u2018but sometimes letting my body hair grow out is what makes me feel sexy. And there is no right answer, no choice that makes me more or less of a feminist, or even a \u201cbad feminist\u201d, to borrow from Roxane Gay.\u2019<\/p>\n In 2017 (clearly a big year for the bush), model Ashely Graham publicly championed body hair too. \u2018Honey, I have a full bush,\u2019 she proudly told Glamour<\/em>. \u2018Period. It\u2019s about your preference and your partner\u2019s preference.\u2019 She later revealed she hadn\u2019t shaved her legs, her bikini line or her armpits since her third trimester with her son Isaac, \u2018and I don\u2019t care,\u2019 she added.<\/p>\n Like clockwork, 2025 seems to be another proud year for the full bush. So much so that \u2018full bush in a bikini\u2019 became a trending phrase on TikTok at the start of the year. It kicked off with a video by artist Sujindah, which was viewed more than 14 million times, where she repeated the phrase several times. Since then, the bush has done nothing but thrive. <\/p>\n If last year saw Parisian couture house Maison Margiela go viral for sending models down the runway with faux pubes for the spring show, who knows what full bush summer has in store. As Sujindah said herself, \u2018I\u2019ve always adored the inclusion of pubes in high fashion and photographs I grew up seeing on Tumblr, so I found it also very artistically inspiring.\u2019 <\/p>\n Time to start packing faux pubes for your next beach holiday? Or simply embracing the set you already have?
