Somehow, the popstar managed to keep his seventh album completely under wraps \u2013 shocking the world by only giving fans a few hours\u2019 notice before Swag dropped. (The title might sound familiar – remember \u2018swag, swag, swag on you\u2019 from 2012 hit Boyfriend?)<\/p>\n The album, which dropped Friday, has received positive reviews from fans, with reviews from critics still rolling in. So far, it\u2019s been mixed. The Guardian gave it three-star review, calling it a return to a \u2018genuine 2015-style passion project\u2019 for the popstar, meanwhile The Independent (two stars) lamented the album as \u2018a god-fearing, hypersexual slog\u2019 and The Standard (also two stars) said it was \u2018R&B balladry that will please his fans but won\u2019t convert anyone else\u2019.<\/p>\n What\u2019s clear, though, is the R&B album \u2013 which Bieber produced along with names like Daniel Caesar, Dijon and mk.gee \u2013 gives a candid account of how the star is feeling.<\/p>\n Over the past few months, there\u2019s been concerns, from fans and the media, about the singer\u2019s mental health. And that\u2019s something Justin doesn\u2019t shy away from on the album, which a press release says has been inspired by his \u2018devotion as a husband and father\u2019. \u2018This new era of music has fuelled a deeper perspective and more reflective sound,\u2019 it continues, \u2018resulting in some of his most personal music yet\u2019.<\/p>\n By now, you\u2019ve probably by now seen the infamous video of Justin confronting paparazzi \u2013 where he told them: \u2018I’m a dad. I’m a husband. You’re not getting it. It’s not clocking to you. I’m standing on business.\u2019 It quickly went viral, spawning thousands of memes, and now he\u2019s solidified the meme forever \u2013 sampling the famous interaction on Butterflies.<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https:\/\/flatplan-plus-content.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2025\/07\/GettyImages-1848360604-scaled.jpg” _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″ alt=”Justin and Hailey Bieber” title_text=”Celebrity Sightings In Los Angeles – December 14, 2023″][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content” sticky_enabled=”0″] But perhaps the most telling track title is Therapy Sessions featuring comedian Druski, an interlude which is essentially a conversation between the pair. Druski speaks about Justin\u2019s social media use, saying, despite the headlines, he knows Justin is sometimes \u2018trolling\u2019 and \u2018enjoying social media like the fuckin\u2019 rest of us\u2019.<\/p>\n (Justin seemingly confirming that he uses social media in a tongue-in-cheek way goes along with what an industry insider told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this year about his posts: \u2018Artists are artists \u2014 they don\u2019t look at the world the way you and I do.\u2019)<\/p>\n But while Justin might be in on the joke, he reveals the scrutiny isn\u2019t always easy to laugh off. \u2018And that’s been a tough thing for me recently,\u2019 Justin replies. \u2018It’s feeling like, you know, I have had to go through a lot of my struggles as a human. As all of us do really publicly, and so people are always asking if I’m okay, and that starts to really weigh on m\u0435. It starts to make me feels like I\u2019m the only one with issues and everyone else is perfect.\u2019<\/p>\n The album also reveals he\u2019s in a solid place with his wife, Hailey Bieber. In case you need a reminder, the couple have been plagued by split rumours this year, which was largely prompted by Justin unfollowing his wife on Instagram. (He later claimed that he didn\u2019t do it, writing: \u2018Someone just went on my account and unfollowed my wife. Shit is getting suss out here.\u2019)<\/p>\n On Go Baby, Justin sings Hailey can \u2018cry on my shoulder\u2026 you better believe I can hold all the weight\u2019. He also manages to give a shoutout to her beauty brand, Rhode, with the line: \u2018That\u2019s my baby, she\u2019s iconic\/ iPhone case, lip gloss on it.\u2019 On Walking Away, he also promises to stand by her side, even though \u2018we better stop before we say some shit, we\u2019ve been testing our patience\u2019.<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text module_class=”custom-quote” _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” header_2_font=”Libre Bodoni|||on|||||” header_2_text_align=”center” header_2_text_color=”#333333″ header_2_font_size=”40px” header_2_line_height=”1.2em” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”] As well as the tracks, on one of the billboards which popped up hours before the release, the pair were photographed with their baby son Jack Blues. Leaning into the paparazzi joke herself, Hailey shared the billboard on Instagram, with the caption: \u2018Is it finally clocking to you f**king losers?\u2019<\/p>\n It all echoes what a source told Grazia in April \u2013 that despite the noise, the pair are stronger than ever. \u2018The marriage does have it\u2019s rollercoaster moments or phases, there\u2019s no denying that,\u2019 the source told us. \u2018But he is committed to the long term as is Hailey, they\u2019re great parents and very determined to prove the doubters wrong over the long term.\u2019<\/p>\n A month later, in May, Justin told Vogue: \u2018I\u2019ve done a lot of dumb things in my life, but the smartest thing I\u2019ve ever done was marry Hailey.\u2019 Hailey herself also addressed the split speculation to Vogue. \u2018Well, I thought seven years in it would\u2019ve [died down] already, and it hasn\u2019t,\u2019 she said. \u2018You would think after having a child, people would maybe move on, chill out a little bit, but no. So I guess these bitches are going to be mad.\u2019<\/p>\n It seems the pair know exactly what they\u2019re doing.
