It will mean that the director\u2019s legal team will be required to identify everyone who will attend her deposition, which is set to take place later this week on 17 July. They will need to give two days notice as to who will be attending.\u00a0<\/p>\n E! News has reported that these legal documents require Lively to \u00a0\u2018make arrangements for opposing counsel to have a dedicated computer and the ability to print and copy documents in the space chosen by Lively\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Before this motion was granted, Baldoni\u2019s team suggested that the Gossip Girl actress was using her \u2018celebrity status\u2019 as well as trying to dictate and control the deposition, \u2018at a location of her choosing.\u2019<\/p>\n \u2018Lively is a plaintiff who has hurled serious allegations of misconduct against the Wayfarer Parties,\u2019 a letter from Baldoni\u2019s team reads. \u2018Like all defendants, the Wayfarer Parties are entitled to depose Lively to develop evidence crucial to their defense. They are also entitled to choose the location of the deposition, which they did.\u2019<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https:\/\/flatplan-plus-content.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2025\/07\/GettyImages-2218847861-scaled.jpg” alt=”Blake Lively” title_text=”Chanel Hosts 18th Annual Tribeca Artists Dinner” _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”] His team also referred to Lively\u2019s requests as examples of \u2018foot stomping\u2019 referring to her lawyer\u2019s behaviour as a \u2018tantrum,\u2019 and that she has used her celebrity status to \u2018seize control\u2019 of It Ends With Us, which Baldoni and Lively both starred in.<\/p>\n \u2018It is ironic that Lively alleges that the Wayfarer Parties [Baldoni\u2019s studio] are trying to \u201cgenerate press interest\u201d in her deposition given that she tirelessly ensured that The New York Times widely publicised her allegations and that her \u2018representatives\u2019 provided a self-serving quote to the media about the Motion,\u2019<\/p>\n Baldoni\u2019s team stated. \u2018Although Lively\u2019s foot-stomping and use of her celebrity status may have enabled her to seize control of the film, which is the crux of this dispute, her counsel\u2019s tantrum has no place in this Court.\u2019<\/p>\n Lively\u2019s team have alleged that one of the reasons for requesting this protective order is that Baldoni\u2019s team has \u2018not denied that their intent is to manufacture a harassing publicity stunt by requiring Ms. Lively to parade through paparazzi, or by inviting unknown attendees to the deposition, including members of the media or social media influencers, or any other number of abusive tactics,\u2019 adding that his team have also refused to address their concerns.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u2018Despite Ms. Lively\u2019s repeated efforts to confer, defendants have refused to address these concerns and have responded only with their insistence that they alone control all logistics and security issues.\u2018Since virtually the inception of this litigation, Defendants have used even the prospect of Ms. Lively\u2019s deposition to generate press interest,\u2019 Lively\u2019s filing reads.<\/p>\n This comes after statements were made by Baldoni\u2019s lawyer Bryan Freedman about holding Lively\u2019s deposition at New York City\u2019s Madison Square Garden.\u00a0<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text module_class=”custom-quote” _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” header_2_font=”Libre Bodoni|||on|||||” header_2_text_align=”center” header_2_text_color=”#333333″ header_2_font_size=”40px” header_2_line_height=”1.2em” global_colors_info=”{}”] \u2018Hold the deposition at MSG, sell tickets or stream it, and donate every dollar to organisations helping victims of domestic abuse,\u2019 he told People in an interview.<\/p>\n In spite of these earlier statements, Baldoni\u2019s team have alleged in a letter that Baldoni\u2019s team opposes Lively\u2019s motion for a protective order that: \u2018Lively relies solely on inapplicable authority and unsupported accusations about opposing counsel and their motives. Lively does not present a single fact to support her allegations of a \u2018plot\u2019 to use the deposition as a \u201cpublicity stunt.\u201d\u2019<\/p>\n Lively\u2019s team have told People that the actress \u2018is looking forward to her deposition\u2026 and it should follow the same rules as every other witness in this case.\u2019<\/p>\n \u2018Justin Baldoni\u2019s lawyer has tried to make this matter a public spectacle at every turn, even proposing to sell tickets to a televised deposition at Madison Square Garden,\u2019 her team\u2019s statement continued. \u2018This is a serious matter of sexual harassment and retaliation and it deserves to be treated as such.\u2019<\/p>\n In her initial complaint against Baldoni, Lively alleged that Baldoni and his Wayfarer associates \u2018embarked on a sophisticated press and digital plan in retaliation\u2019 against her voicing concerns about alleged misconduct on set. Lively stated that she and other cast and crew members \u2018experienced invasive, unwelcome, unprofessional and sexually inappropriate behaviour” by Baldoni and Wayfarer\u2019s CEO Jamey Heath. Baldoni and Heath deny all allegations of sexual harassment or misconduct.<\/p>\n She added that the alleged campaign caused her \u2018substantial harm\u2019 both personally and professionally.<\/p>\n The date for Lively and Baldoni’s trial is set for March 2026 and will be held in New York City.
