Summer styling is, by far, my favourite. I\u2019m all about the open-weave ballet flats, Dragon Diffusion tote bags, and it goes without saying, copious amounts of linen. I\u2019m talking linen shirts, linen skirts and, when I\u2019m wanting to feel more put-together, linen suiting. But, the crux of any good summer wardrobe? A great linen dress. Few items will have you feeling as if your life is in order like a one-and-done linen dress, and trust me when I say, it\u2019s the key to tackling the tube when the temperatures climb above 20 degrees.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve had my eye on COS\u2019 Pleated Linen Maxi Dress<\/a> for what seems like forever, in both its rich burnt orange shade and classic black. It\u2019s everything you want in a summer piece, really: it’s cool, effortless, and just structured enough to wear over a bikini for a day at the beach or to evening drinks with a simple change of shoes. Its relaxed fit is elevated with subtle pleats and a maxi length that\u2019s gently swishy. For styling, wear the linen maxi in the day with flat tan sandals, a woven tote bag and black sunglasses, or swap in a pair of stacked gold bangles and kitten heels for something more evening-appropriate.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll be the first to admit that linen isn\u2019t always easy; it\u2019s creased by lunchtime, sometimes sheer and prone to folding. But, that\u2019s almost part of its charm \u2013 it\u2019s the fabric of grown-up summer dressing. And, when it\u2019s COS\u2019 linen, that\u2019s also in the sale for 40% less than its original price; it\u2019s just a smart buy as opposed to an item of seasonal indulgence. If there\u2019s a better investment this summer than a chic, maxi, on-sale linen dress, I\u2019m yet to find it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
