After videos of the Princess of Wales shopping in Windsor over the weekend were published by TMZ, those determined to believe in a Palace cover up are insisting that the woman in the video is not Kate at all, but lookalike actor Heidi Agan who has portrayed Kate in bookable appearances for the last 12 years.<\/p>\n On social media, conspiracy theorists are posting side-by-side images of Kate and Heidi next to the admittedly low-quality video taken by an onlooker who spotted the Wales\u2019 at their local farm shop. Kate and William were filmed strolling through the The Royal Farms Windsor Farm Shop, situated on the edge of the Home Park, shopping bags in arms. Viral videos on TikTok pick apart Heidi and Kate\u2019s comparable facial features, some even claiming that the man in the video is a Prince William lookalike too. For her lookalike work, Heidi works regularly with Simon Watkinson who has now too been embroiled in the conspiracy theories.<\/p>\n Questioning everything from the height difference between the Wales\u2019 (Kate and William are both very tall, with 5ft 9 Kate still six inches shorter than William) as well as whether their outfit choices are realistic for royals (Kate\u2019s off duty look was a simple leggings and hoody combination, paired with trainers and long socks, while William sported jeans and a baseball cap), commentators are picking apart the background of the video too, claiming that there are Christmas decorations hanging off some of the local stalls and thus concluding the video must\u2019ve been taken in December (it\u2019s wreaths and fairy lights by the way, classic cross-seasonal food market d\u00e9cor if you ask us).<\/p>\n Some are even questioning the fact that Kate was holding a shopping bag, as was William, claiming that she wouldn\u2019t be expected to carry her own bags after abdominal surgery. The Princess of Wales underwent surgery at The London Clinic in December, where she stayed for 12 days before heading home to recover. She\u2019s expected to return to public duty after Easter.<\/p>\n But now, according to Google Trends, searches for Heidi Agan, ‘Kate Middleton impersonator’ and \u2018Kate Middleton lookalike\u2019 are through the roof \u2013 making up four of the top five search terms for the Princess. People are seemingly convinced the woman in the video is not Kate. Of course, there is one way to quell these mounting concerns and silence the conspiracy theorists for good: go straight to the source. So, being the tenacious investigative journalists that we are, we spoke to Heidi ourselves.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text module_class=”custom-quote” _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” header_2_font=”Libre Bodoni|||on|||||” header_2_text_align=”center” header_2_text_color=”#333333″ header_2_font_size=”40px” header_2_line_height=”1.2em” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]<\/p>\n \u2018It wasn\u2019t me at Windsor farm,\u2019 she confirms with a laugh. \u2018And that is Prince William in the video. Obviously, [Simon and I have] studied them both in great detail as we have to for our job, and you can tell it is them.\u2019<\/p>\n Heidi herself acknowledges that the conspiracy theories have \u2018gone too far\u2019 and finds the whole thing surreal. But given the nature of the theories picking apart every small detail of a picture or video, we take the time to address the claims around Kate\u2019s height compared to Heidi\u2019s.<\/p>\n \u2018I\u2019m about six inches shorter than Kate, she\u2019s supermodel tall and I was not blessed with that gene,\u2019 Heidi says. \u2018The Prince William that I work with, we\u2019re quite well height-matched, so it works out well for us but unless you\u2019ve seen them [the Wales\u2019] in real life you won\u2019t quite realise how tall they are.\u2019<\/p>\n For those who truly believe it\u2019s not Kate in the video, questions raised include whether or not Heidi and Simon staged the photo themselves, or TMZ paid them to \u2013 some even seem to believe that Heidi has a relationship with the Palace and would stand in for Kate Middleton if required. We put these ludicrous claims to Heidi, the answer to all of which is firm ‘no\u2019; It\u2019s not Heidi and Simon in the video, they do not have any kind of relationship with the Palace, and they wouldn\u2019t be hired to actually fake images of Kate and Will \u2013 the fact they\u2019re lookalikes is always made explicitly clear.<\/p>\n That rumours around the farm-shop video still persist, despite Heidi’s flat-out denial show the extent to which speculation about the Princess of Wales’ health and whereabouts really have spiralled out of control.<\/p>\n \u2018We\u2019ve never had media outlets book us for paparazzi shots that are meant to be put out as real,\u2019 Heidi explains. \u2018Because we\u2019re lookalikes, we do have to let people know that, so the initial shock is there but then everybody understands that we\u2019re lookalikes. We do videos and things like that, but nothing that is meant to go across serious or put out as this is officially them. There\u2019s always a disclaimer and we would want that as well in order to be respectful to the royal family.\u2019<\/p>\n As far as things as serious as working for the Palace, she says it’s \u2018nothing like that at all\u2019. They\u2019ve never met any royals either, but Heidi says the royal family do know of their work. \u2018We\u2019ve heard that the Palace have heard of us and that they think it\u2019s good, which is what it\u2019s meant to be,\u2019 she says. \u2018We\u2019re not lookalikes to be disrespectful, we\u2019re just paid actors for corporate events, and it\u2019s meant to bring a little bit of humour. As far as things as serious as working for the Palace, it\u2019s nothing like that at all.\u2019<\/p>\n In terms of her Kate Middleton lookalike work, Heidi says she\u2019s mostly booked for events, adverts and meet and greets. \u2018A lot of people come to us directly or we get booked through agents and its worldwide,\u2019 she explains. \u2018Our level or work mirrors how busy the royals are, so at the moment this has caused quite a stir because Kate has been \u201cmissing\u201d for so long but usually it\u2019s things like the Coronation, the King\u2019s birthday, the birth of royal children. The Olympics too will generate a lot of interest and work, so the busier they are the busier we are.\u2019<\/p>\n Of course, the last few weeks have been particularly wild. After TMZ published the video, Heidi says her phone blew up overnight and she\u2019s since been inundated online with people asking her \u2018Is this you?\u2019 – to which she can\u2019t help but laugh.<\/p>\n \u2018It\u2019s obvious it\u2019s not me! It\u2019s flattering because it means I do look like her, but it\u2019s a lot of people going back and forth,\u2019 Heidi says. \u2018Personally, I think it\u2019s gone too far now, I very much take the stance of unless something has been announced by Kensington Palace everything else is untrue. It\u2019s like watching some weird movie of all this stuff unfolding, there\u2019s one girl on TikTok up to part 25 of \u201cWhere is Kate Middleton?\u201d. I find it quite amusing because I think she\u2019s fine, she\u2019s just had an operation and she\u2019s recovering, but watching it all unfold has been crazy really.
