Earlier this year, I was standing in the wings of a comedy club, waiting to perform my set. About to go on stage before me was a male comedian that I\u2019d never met before.<\/p>\n

We had a short conversation before he stepped into the light and he seemed perfectly nice. \u2018I\u2019m really nervous,\u2019 I said. \u2018I\u2019m doing new material, and I\u2019m terrified people are gonna think I\u2019m insane.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018I don\u2019t think I\u2019ll stay for your set,\u2019 he said in response to my openness. \u2018I\u2019ve heard your stand up is filthy. It will probably make me blush.\u2019 Then he went on stage.<\/p>\n

Encourage the audience to eat more fibre? Deliver a tight five on the benefits of cold showers?<\/p>\n

Of course not. His set was filthier than mine. Not that we were in competition here, but he opened with a few jokes about wanting to shag his mother in law, and how much he wished his dick was bigger. I really enjoyed it.
