Now, eyes are once again turning to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle\u2019s future in the US.<\/p>\n On his first day in the White House, there was no forgetting that Donald Trump was back in charge. Surrounded by a cacophony of powerful yes men \u2013 comprised of the likes of tech tycoon Elon Musk and Vice-President JD Vance \u2013 the President immediately set about making his version of America.<\/p>\n Telling Fox News that he would be a dictator only on \u2018day one,\u2019 Trump withdrew the US from the Paris Climate accord, left the World Health Organisation, signed an order making it official policy that there are \u2018only two genders, male and female,\u2019 issued a slew of pardons for offenders and commutations related to the January 2021 attack on the Capitol, and rescinded 78 Biden-era executive actions.<\/p>\n Among other things, he also declared two name changes: the Gulf of Mexico to be renamed the \u2018Gulf of America,\u2019 and Alaska\u2019s Mount Denali, changed by Obama in 2015 to reflect the traditions of Alaska Natives, to be rechristened as Mount McKinley.<\/p>\n <\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https:\/\/flatplan-plus-content.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2025\/01\/imago796563986-scaled.jpg” alt=”Donald Trump” title_text=”Trump Attends Service At National Cathedral – Washington” _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content” sticky_enabled=”0″][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content” sticky_enabled=”0″] With Trump, 78, following through on plenty of his promises, many are now turning their eyes to Prince Harry, 40, and Meghan Markle, 43.<\/p>\n Last March, Trump shared that Harry \u2013 who lives in California with Meghan and their two children \u2013 could find himself deported from the US if drug use was not declared on his visa application. It came after Harry\u2019s bestselling memoir Spare saw the prince lay bare his deepest secrets, including recollections of drug-fuelled nights. In one passage, Harry described hallucinating in the bathroom of a Hollywood party after taking magic mushrooms. In another, he described how cocaine did very little for him, while marijuana \u2018really did help.\u2019<\/p>\n Shortly after admitting to previously taking drugs in his memoir, conservative think-tank group Heritage Foundation launched a case to have Harry\u2019s secret visa application made public. By law, visa applicants must declare whether they have taken drugs in the past. Failing to do so can lead to deportation \u2013 with Heritage hoping to uncover exactly how much of his past Harry had initially disclosed.<\/p>\n Of course, Trump had been quick to weigh in on the situation in the past. Claiming last year that the Biden administration had been \u2018too gracious\u2019 to Harry since his relocation across the pond, the now-President told the Daily Express, \u2018I wouldn\u2019t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That\u2019s unforgiveable. He would be on his own if it was down to me.\u2019<\/p>\n When asked by Nigel Farage during a GB News appearance whether Harry would receive \u2018special privileges\u2019 if authorities determined that he hadn\u2019t been truthful on his visa, Trump replied, \u2018No. We\u2019ll have to see if they know something about the drugs, and if he lied, they\u2019ll have to take appropriate action.\u2019<\/p>\n <\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text module_class=”custom-quote” _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” header_2_font=”Libre Bodoni|||on|||||” header_2_text_align=”center” header_2_text_color=”#333333″ header_2_font_size=”40px” header_2_line_height=”1.2em” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content” sticky_enabled=”0″] Questioned over whether that appropriate action could mean the royal \u2018not staying in America,\u2019 Trump said, \u2018I don\u2019t know. You\u2019ll have to tell me.\u2019<\/p>\n When it comes to the Sussex duo\u2019s communications with Trump, relations have always erred on the frosty side. In 2020, soon after moving to the US, the Duke and Duchess urged American voters to \u2018reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity\u2019 in that year\u2019s election \u2013 which was won by Joe Biden. Although the couple did not explicitly endorse a candidate, their comments were enough to convince listeners that they were referring to Trump.<\/p>\n The businessman-turned-politician later weighed in on the couple\u2019s comments during a White House conference, saying, \u2018I\u2019m not a fan of hers [Meghan] and I would say this, and she has probably heard that. But I wish a lot of luck to Harry, \u2018cause he\u2019s going to need it.\u2019<\/p>\n With Trump now sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, the stakes are no doubt upped.<\/p>\n Indeed, some say the former working royals have already began plotting their plan B. It was revealed late last year that the couple had purchased a home in Portugal, close to where Harry\u2019s cousin Princess Eugenie lives. Although thought to be a holiday home, the Portugal residence could become a permanent base for the Sussexes if the time comes to leave Montecito behind.<\/p>\n And while the question of whether Harry will be \u2018kicked out\u2019 of the US is difficult to predict, there is every chance that the couple may willingly choose to relocate. In fact, they would hardly be the first celebrity couple to leave the US in the wake of the election.<\/p>\n Following Trump\u2019s election win, a barrage of A-listers vowed to emigrate. TV star Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, swapped the sunny streets of Los Angeles for a move to the British Cotswolds. Speaking to Mail Online last year, Basic Instinct actor Sharon Stone also revealed that she was \u2018certainly considering a house in Italy\u2019 following Trump\u2019s campaign of \u2018hate.\u2019<\/p>\n And echoing the sentiments of many, Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria is another celebrity who revealed she had left The Land of the Free behind – now splitting her time between Mexico and Spain. Acknowledging that she was \u2018privileged\u2019 to have been able to move, Eva candidly shared, \u2018Most American\u2019s aren\u2019t so lucky.
