It no longer just involves the two co-stars\u2026 and their other co-stars, and the It Ends With Us<\/em> producers, and their PR teams, and Colleen Hoover, and Ryan Reynolds, and even Taylor Swift, apparently Hugh Jackman has been dragged into it now too.<\/p>\n It Ends With Us<\/em> is the adaptation of Colleen Hoover\u2019s 2016 novel, which is a romance tale featuring themes of domestic violence. The film was a box office success following its release in August, but it has been almost entirely overshadowed by the aforementioned legal saga.<\/p>\n According to Sky News Australia, Jackman, who starred opposite Reynolds in Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em> last summer, will play a \u2018crucial\u2019 role in the upcoming trial between Lively and Baldoni. It is likely he will be deposed to testify about Lively\u2019s experiences and Reynolds\u2019 conduct during the making of It Ends With Us<\/em>. \u2018As Ryan\u2019s good friend, who was with Blake and Ryan many times in private during that time, his deposition will likely be crucial,\u2019 an insider told The Daily Mail.<\/p>\n In Lively\u2019s original lawsuit filed against Baldoni in December, she accuses him of sexual harassment and of creating a \u2018hostile work environment on set\u2019, as well as of launching a targeted smear campaign against her in the press run of the film. In Baldoni\u2019s counter lawsuit, he accuses Lively and Reynolds of defamation, false light invasion of privacy and extortion amongst other claims. He is seeking at least $400m (\u00a3321m) in damages. All parties have denied the allegations.<\/p>\n Given that It Ends With Us<\/em> and Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em> were released a few weeks apart last summer, with Reynolds and Jackman joining Lively on the red carpet at the premiere of It Ends With Us<\/em>, the Australian actor might have been aware of the alleged feud as it was unfolding. While he has not commented on the saga in public, it is possible that Lively\u2019s team will look to Jackman to corroborate some of her experiences behind the scenes.<\/p>\n His involvement might not end there, either. Baldoni has also accused Reynolds of using his \u2018Nicepool\u2019 character in Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em> \u2013 a faux feminist with a man bun \u2013 to intentionally mock and \u2018bully\u2019 him. While Reynolds has not publicly responded to these claims, the Daily Mail\u2019s source says, \u2018it\u2019s unlikely Hugh wasn\u2019t aware of this\u2019. Adding that, \u2018the timing of the premieres is also no coincidence.\u2019<\/p>\n \u2018What Ryan Reynolds has seemingly done is use his power and influence on Deadpool<\/em> to make fun of Justin Baldoni,\u2019 the It Ends With Us<\/em> actor\u2019s lawyer states. \u2018There\u2019s no question [Nicepool] relates to Justin.\u2019 He continued, \u2018If your wife is sexually harassed, you don\u2019t make fun of Justin Baldoni. You don\u2019t make fun of the situation \u2013 you take it very seriously.\u2019 The Sky report states Jackman could be asked to give a \u2018full scope of Ryan\u2019s conduct during the time that It Ends With Us<\/em> was filmed\u2019.<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text module_class=”custom-quote” _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” header_2_font=”Libre Bodoni|||on|||||” header_2_text_align=”center” header_2_text_color=”#333333″ header_2_font_size=”40px” header_2_line_height=”1.2em” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content” sticky_enabled=”0″] As previously mentioned, Jackman is not the only A-list star embroiled in this ongoing legal dispute. In his December lawsuit, Baldoni included messages from Lively in which she refers to a \u2018mega celebrity friend\u2019, thought to be Swift, as \u2018one of her dragons\u2019. \u2018For better or worse, but usually for better,\u2019 she allegedly wrote, \u2018because my dragons also protect those I fight for. So really we all benefit from those gorgeous monsters of mine. You will too, I can promise you.\u2019<\/p>\n Earlier this month, it was reported that Swift could be subpoenaed to be questioned under oath about her involvement in the case\u00a0\u2013 something she is reportedly reluctant to do. Lively and the \u2018Cruel Summer\u2019 singer have been close friends for more than a decade, with Swift acting as God mother to Lively\u2019s three daughters, but the pair have not been seen together since December with rumours surfacing that Swift feels \u2018used\u2019 by Lively\u2019s comments.<\/p>\n Lively was noticeably absent from Swift\u2019s Superbowl suite last month, where she took pride of place the year before, to watch Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, she did attend the Saturday Night Live<\/em> 50th anniversary show the following week with Reynolds, where comedians Tina Fey and Amy Poehler asked him \u2018how\u2019s it going?\u2019 and he replied \u2018Great! Why? What have you heard?\u2019 in an apparent reference to the scandal.<\/p>\n With multiple conflicting allegations, endless \u2018takes\u2019 on social media and a hung jury in the court of public opinion, this is not a legal saga that many would want to be dragged into. If the case does go to trial in March next year, then both Lively and Reynolds and Baldoni will be relying on the support and testimony of their closest allies.
