Sharing a video from The Tucker Carlson Show where he is in conversation with the actor Jonathan Roumie on X, Stefani wrote, \u2018Wow @JonathanRoumie, u r a powerful inspiration what an enlightening intelligent beautiful interview thank you for being u gx\u2019 [sic].<\/p>\n During the episode, the pair discussed \u2018the power of prayer and fasting\u2019, Lent, \u2018spiritual attacks\u2019 and what it\u2019s like being recognised in public. Roumie plays Jesus in the evangelist TV series The Chosen<\/em> and appeared on the podcast to promote the Christian and Catholic prayer and meditation app, Hallow.<\/p>\n Carlson, however, is an undoubtedly controversial figure in the media who has been described as \u2018perhaps the highest-profile proponent of Trumpism\u2019 and \u2018the most influential voice in right-wing media\u2019. He believes, amongst other things, in the demographic replacement conspiracy theory which argues that the \u2018political elite\u2019 are deliberately increasing the number of minorities in a bid to displace the Christian white American population. He also has a \u2018non-negotiable\u2019 stance against a woman\u2019s right to choose and last year he dismissed the link between climate change and the increased frequency and intensity of hurricanes, attributing it instead to a rise in abortions.<\/p>\n As such, Stefani\u2019s fan base is understandably perturbed. \u2018You honestly need a reality check, God this is heartbreaking,\u2019 wrote one X user underneath her post. \u2018Gwen is in her Trump era,\u2019 reads another. While a third person articulately commented, \u2018I love you but I hope you know your faith and Tucker Carlson\u2019s platform full of hate are completely opposite of each other. Your voice influences many and in times of division and uncertainty, we shouldn\u2019t promise those who invest so much in dividing us more.\u2019<\/p>\n Stefani has always been open about her Catholic faith. She regularly attends Church with her sons and has posted about her piety on social media several times. Last November, she partnered with Hallow herself. The app costs $70 (\u00a354) per year with a premium subscription and is pedalled by A-listers like Mark Wahlberg and Chris Pratt who are involved in the company too.<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text module_class=”custom-quote” _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” header_2_font=”Libre Bodoni|||on|||||” header_2_text_align=”center” header_2_text_color=”#333333″ header_2_font_size=”40px” header_2_line_height=”1.2em” global_colors_info=”{}”] However, even if it was unwitting, Stefani\u2019s recent endorsement of the app has also been read as an endorsement of Carlson. This has sparked both concern and disappointment because his views seem at odds with the public persona on which she built her career. As the frontwoman of No Doubt and an alternative pop icon for decades, Stefani built up a vast fan base in the LGBTQ+ community and has followers from minority groups around the world. While she has never been outwardly political \u2013 once saying everyone knows she\u2019s \u2018not a political science major. [\u2026] so why would I even talk about [politics]?\u2019 \u2013 many of her fans comfortably assumed she was not a staunch Republican.<\/p>\n Even if her recent X post was only shared out of obligation to Hallow or her faith, to those fans, she has tarnished her reputation and left them with a lot of unsettling questions. \u2018My Orange Country girl! MAGA,\u2019 wrote one woman who clearly interpreted Stefani\u2019s post as a sign of her support for Trump. \u2018Thank you for standing up for your beliefs,\u2019 wrote another. \u2018This is still America, and you are free to choose!\u2019.<\/p>\n Stefani has not yet elaborated on her comments or confirmed whether she is a Trump supporter or even a fan of Carlon\u2019s podcast outside the context of his interview with Roumie \u2013 but fans are still suspicious.<\/p>\n Some have attributed her increasingly political social media presence to her marriage to the conservative country singer Blake Shelton, who she married in 2021. In a 2016 interview with Billboard, Shelton said of Trump, \u2018Whether you love him or hate him, he says what he thinks, and he has proven that you don\u2019t always have to be so afraid.\u2019 Something women who have had their constitutional right to an abortion revoked or trans people who have had their gender forcibly changed on their passports might well disagree with.<\/p>\n \u2018Gwen Stefani seems like one of those girls who just completely absorbs and becomes whatever man she\u2019s with,\u2019 one X user suggested. \u2018Eventually they\u2019ll divorce, and she\u2019ll have a ballad about how she lost who she was for him.\u2019<\/p>\n With Stefani\u2019s new album Bouquet Deluxe out on 14 March, which she describes as ‘music I listen to now’, they might have a while to wait for any ballads about her lost MAGA years. The album was recorded in Nashville, but she says it is \u2018not a country record\u2019 and is comprised of \u201870s pop rock songs. \u2018It\u2019s all the stuff I listened to in the station wagon on the way to church,\u2019 she said. \u2018Yacht rock, though it wasn\u2019t called yacht rock then.
