WHEN THE A-LIST<\/strong>\u00a0want their homes made gorgeous, they call Martyn Lawrence Bullard. Specialised closets are a must for many clients \u2013 RuPaul\u2019s home contains 5,000 square feet of them.<\/p>\n Bullard has also interior designed homes for the Kardashians \u2013 Kourtney\u2019s, Khlo\u00e9\u2019s and Kylie Jenner\u2019s. \u2018It was amazing to work for a 21-year-old billionaire and create things\u2026 that are a little bit wild, fun and playful.\u2019 Full of character, Jenner\u2019s home features leather dining chairs dyed to match shades in her lip kits, and bronze consoles sculpted to resemble the giant drops of gold on her make-up collection\u2019s packaging.<\/p>\n When it came to Winnie Harlow\u2019s home, the brief was \u2018glamorous, luxe and modern\u2019. \u2018She loves to entertain. The house had to flow in a way where it was easy for her to throw a party quickly, but also feel chic.\u2019 He even created wallpaper out of images from one of her photo shoots. \u2018I wanted it to be very high glam. It has previously belonged to Andy Warhol, Tina Turner and Dennis Hopper. \u2018I decorated it with Moroccan elements mixed with a bit of mid-century furnishings,\u2019 Bullard says. \u2018My style\u2019s eclectic but it\u2019s ever evolving.\u2019 He may live the Hollywood high life now but he was born in Britain and, as a teenager, sold trinkets to tourists on a stall at Greenwich market. \u2018Without really realising it, that was<\/p>\n Following drama school, Bullard moved to Hollywood to pursue an acting career, but his career pivot came after befriending a film producer, who was taken with Bullard\u2019s interiors style. \u2018I had no money, I did everything from flea markets, but he loved what I\u2019d done with my apartment,\u2019 he says. The producer asked him to decorate his offices, and Bullard\u2019s work later caught the attention of model Cheryl Tiegs, who asked him to reimagine her Bel Air home. \u2018Within nine months, I was on the cover of six magazines around the world.
