And luckily for listeners, she didn\u2019t hold back. Though she might have just hosted her lifestyle show As Ever, Meghan still isn\u2019t someone we get to hear from in interviews that often. But she decided to be on the other side of the mic for Jamie Kern Lima, who hosts her own podcast. (Fun fact about Jamie? She\u2019s the founder of IT Cosmetics.)<\/p>\n In the chat, she revealed that she\u2019s still very in love with Harry. \u2018If you haven\u2019t noticed, my husband is very, very handsome,\u2019 she said, calling him a \u2018fox\u2019. \u2018But his heart is even more beautiful.\u2019 But, during the discussion, she also made a not-so-subtle swipe at the Royal Family \u2013 saying that during the early days, she felt like they were landed into a war zone.<\/p>\n \u2018You have to imagine at the beginning, everyone has, like, butterflies,\u2019 she said. \u2018Then we immediately went into the trenches together. Yeah, right out of the gate, like six months into dating.\u2019 In fact, she even said that she feels like they\u2019re going through \u2018more of a honeymoon period\u2019 now. \u2018So now, seven years later, when you have a little bit of breathing space, you can just enjoy each other in a new way,\u2019 she added.<\/p>\n You might remember, what Meghan was probably hinting at was the media furore unleashed when it was discovered that the pair were dating in 2016. So vile was the tabloid coverage and abuse, the Royal Family released an unprecedented statement condemning \u2018the smear on the front page of a national newspaper; the racial undertones of comment pieces; and the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and Web article comments\u2019. The strongly worded statement continued saying Prince Harry \u2018is worried about Ms. Markle\u2019s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her\u2019. \u2018He knows commentators will say this is \u201cthe price she has to pay\u201d and that \u201cthis is all part of the game,\u201d\u2019 it added. \u2018He strongly disagrees. This is not a game\u2014it is her life and his.\u2019<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https:\/\/flatplan-plus-content.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2025\/05\/GettyImages-880160716.jpg” _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″ alt=”Meghan Harry” title_text=”BRITAIN-ROYALS-MARRIAGE”][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_code _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][\/et_pb_code][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content” sticky_enabled=”0″] It was a few years later, in 2021, that Meghan and Prince Harry opened up about the traumatic time to Oprah, with Meghan saying she \u2018couldn\u2019t be left alone’ and \u2018didn\u2019t want to be alive anymore\u2019. She also alleged that the Royal Family wouldn\u2019t let her get support for her mental health, as it would damage their reputation. ‘I said that I needed to go somewhere to get help,\u2019 she said at the time. \u2018I said that \u201cI’ve never felt this way before, and I need to go somewhere\u201d. And I was told that I couldn’t, that it wouldn’t be good for the institution.\u2019<\/p>\n But, thankfully, Meghan seems to be in a far better place now. Speaking earlier this week at a talk during the Time100 Summit in New York City she said she couldn\u2019t believe how, thanks to her family unit, her life had turned around. \u2018To have a partner and a husband who is so supportive and have healthy kids who are so joyful\u2026 I never would have imagined at this point I would feel so happy and grateful, and I really do.\u2019<\/p>\n Going back to the podcast, there was further joy as Meghan teared up when reading an adorable note from her kids: Archie and Lilibet, which had been written by her husband. \u2018From Archie and Lili via Papa,\u2019 the cute letter read. \u2018We love your cooking. We love your pancakes and we love, love, love your hugs. You’re the best mummy and we love you.\u2019 Getting emotional, she noted how the kids call her \u2018mum\u2019 instead of \u2018mom\u2019.<\/p>\n \u2018So sweet. I also love that it’s mummy, instead of mommy, which is very British.’ But there has been a little bit of controversy since Meghan\u2019s appearance on the show \u2013 as she didn\u2019t just make headlines for what was said. In the video accompanying the podcast, Meghan can be seen giving a gift basket to Jamie \u2013 but it was a card inside, which read \u2018With the Compliments of HRH The Duchess of Sussex\u2019, which sparked outrage for some.\u00a0<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text module_class=”custom-quote” _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” header_2_font=”Libre Bodoni|||on|||||” header_2_text_align=”center” header_2_text_color=”#333333″ header_2_font_size=”40px” header_2_line_height=”1.2em” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content” sticky_enabled=”0″] Why? Well, when Meghan and Harry gave up life as working royals in 2020, it was understood that they would no longer use HRH before their names (even though they could still keep the titles). But the BBC have since reported that, according to sources, the couple do not use HRH in public or commercial settings, also noting this was a personal gift and that the podcast happened over a year ago.<\/p>\n With Meghan continuing to dive into the world of lifestyle with her wellness brand, As Ever, she\u2019s not going anywhere anytime soon \u2013 and we wouldn\u2019t be surprised if we start hearing from Meghan more in interviews.
