Thanks to headlines around the world, it\u2019s a case anyone who\u2019s even vaguely in to pop culture knows about, regardless of whether they\u2019ve watched the movie or read the book by Colleen Hoover.<\/p>\n If you need a refresher, following work on the film, executive producer Lively filed a lawsuit, accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment, as well as allegedly organising a smear campaign against her. Baldoni \u2013 who directed the film \u2013 denied the allegations, and filed a counter-lawsuit against Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds, accusing the pair of civil\u00a0extortion,\u00a0defamation and invasion of privacy. He is also suing The New York Times, who first reported on Lively\u2019s claims, for libel.<\/p>\n The Daily Mail also reported Lively was subpoenaed by Baldoni’s team last week, and has been asked to provide all communications, such as texts and emails, related to Baldoni and the film.<\/p>\n There\u2019s a long time to wait before it\u2019s set to be in court, though \u2013 as both cases are set for trial in March 2026.<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_code _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][\/et_pb_code][et_pb_text module_class=”custom-quote” _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” header_2_font=”Libre Bodoni|||on|||||” header_2_text_align=”center” header_2_text_color=”#333333″ header_2_font_size=”40px” header_2_line_height=”1.2em” global_colors_info=”{}”] But now, speaking for the first time about the case, Lively has made her feelings clear. Opening up on Late Night with Seth Meyers, she told viewers how the case has impacted her. \u2018What I can say without going too into it is that this year has been full of the highest highs and the lowest lows of my life,\u2019 Lively said. \u2018And I see so many women around, afraid to speak, and especially right now, afraid to share their experiences.\u2019<\/p>\n Lively added she feels grateful she\u2019s able to share her story \u2013 as so many women who have been through sexual harassment don\u2019t. The National Sexual Violence Resource Centre reports that 81% of women in the US go through sexual harassment in their lifetime. Baldoni denies Lively’s allegations of sexual harassment.<\/p>\n \u2018I also acknowledge that many people don\u2019t have the opportunity to speak,\u2019 she said. \u2018So I do feel fortunate that I\u2019ve been able to. And it\u2019s the women who have had the ability to use their voice that\u2019s kept me strong, and, you know, helped me in my belief in my fight for the world to be safe for women and girls. It\u2019s a pretty simple thing.\u2019<\/p>\n What\u2019s getting Lively through everything, she says, is her children: James, ten, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and Olin, 2. \u2018[My kids] are just like my lifeline,\u2019 she revealed. \u2018No matter what day I\u2019m having, I have to be Disneyland for them. And so it\u2019s like, it\u2019s the best. I mean it\u2019s chaos. But it\u2019s the best.\u2019<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_code _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][\/et_pb_code][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”] What Lively didn\u2019t talk about is some of the other drama surrounding the case. Last week, it was reported that Taylor Swift\u2019s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, had unfollowed Lively\u2019s husband Ryan Reynolds. Obviously, the unfollow might be an accident \u2013 but Page Six reported that it could be thanks to the legal drama and reports that Swift might be required to give evidence.<\/p>\n \u2018Travis unfollowed Ryan because he is fed up with the whole drama,\u2019 a source told the Daily Mail. \u2018It’s not just about the spectacle of it all. Travis is concerned that he could potentially be questioned too since he was with Taylor as some of this was going down.\u2019 There have been differing reports as to whether Lively and Swift are still friends, but according to the paper, \u2018[Taylor and Travis] have cut out Ryan and Blake for the time being.\u2019<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https:\/\/flatplan-plus-content.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2025\/05\/GettyImages-2212235032.jpg” alt=”Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds” title_text=”Celebrity Sightings In New York – April 29, 2025″ _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”] It\u2019s certainly a far cry from how close their friendship circle used to be \u2013Lively and Reynolds were photographed outside a party at Swift\u2019s during a break from the Eras tour last summer, and on a podcast episode last year, Kelce called Reynolds \u2018literally the greatest\u2019.<\/p>\n There has also been another update in the dispute, as TMZ reported Baldoni has spent so much money on the legal case that the charitable wing of his Wayfarer Studios has closed. The Wayfarer Foundation was set up in 2021, and according to their website, they provided $33 million in grants to organisations who have supported issues like \u2018gender equality\u2019, \u2018youth empowerment\u2019 and \u2018racial justice and unity in diversity\u2019.<\/p>\n Announcing the news on Instagram, Baldoni\u2019s Wayfarer Studios partner Steve Sarowitz\u00a0didn\u2019t give a reason why the foundation was shutting down, but said the charity will \u2018honour all of our current grant commitments\u2019.
