If you\u2019ve ever looked at your underwear and thought life might just be better without them, then you\u2019re not alone. Enter naturism: the practise of simply waving goodbye to your clothes and stepping out in the nude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s strip this down, quite literally. Naturism, also called nudism, is the practise of going about your life (or at least your beach trips and camping getaways) in your birthday suit. Feeling the wind on your skin without a tight bra strap in sight. Naturism isn\u2019t about shock value or exhibitionism \u2013 it\u2019s completely non-sexual, rooted in body positivity and the belief that clothes really can be optional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re thinking this lifestyle sounds rather freeing, you\u2019d be correct. It\u2019s a liberating thought to be heading to the seaside with fish & chips and a skinny dip on the agenda. Of course, there are some things to consider. If there\u2019s a time when rules are made to be followed, it\u2019s on a naturist getaway. Respect is key: stick to designated nudist areas, keep your distance from other naturists and keep your cameras turned off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brighton Naturist Beach, East Sussex <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It may come as a shock to absolutely no one that the ever-tolerant Brighton has made the list. Brighton is home to one of the world\u2019s most famous nudist beaches. It\u2019s not just any beach, though \u2013 with Brighton home to the UK\u2019s first<\/em> official nudist beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll find the nudist section of this pebbly coastline down at the eastern end of the beach, around a one mile walk from Brighton Pier, heading towards the Marina. Officially known as Cliff Bathing Beach, there\u2019s several signs letting beachgoers know the boundaries of the nudist section. Don\u2019t expect to be the only dipper, though. It\u2019s a busy old beach, attracting crowds even on its coldest months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Studland Naturist Beach, Dorset<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Located in Dorset and protected by the National Trust, Studland Bay may well be one of the prettiest nudist beaches you\u2019ll ever lay eyes on. Running for four miles north to south, there\u2019s plenty of space for everyone to strip off. It\u2019s home to some stunning sailing clubs at its Southern end, with a nudist section at its secluded northern end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re looking to make a day of it, Studland Bay is a perfect option. If you fancy a stay near the beach, you can book a tent pitch at Studland Summer Camp \u2013 a naturist campsite that\u2019s open for two seasons a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Croft Naturist Country Club, Cambridgeshire<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re looking for a nudist-friendly weekend away, why not head down to Cambridgeshire! Croft Naturist Country Club is a family friendly nudist getaway who emphasise \u2018fun and relaxation\u2019. You can bring your own tent to pitch up, or opt for a cosy cabin if you fancy a slice of extra luxury. While onsite, you\u2019ll be kept busy with a range of facilities \u2013 including swimming pools, a sauna, a putting green, and weekly entertainment. Situated in the picturesque Fenlands, it\u2019s no wonder it\u2019s been rated an impressive 4.78 stars out of five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Druridge Bay, Northumberland<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One of the best beaches for baring it all, northern England\u2019s Druridge Bay is one of the finest beaches to visit. It\u2019s welcomed naturists since the 1960s, backed by the gorgeousNorthumberland Coast County Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apollo Sun Club, Sussex<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A friendly naturist club situated in six acres of beautiful Sussex countryside, Apollo Sun Club notes that naturists come in all shapes and size, from \u2018babies to oldies\u2019. It\u2019s not just about removing clothes, but removing social attitudes too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Relaxation is key at Apollo Sun Club, but you\u2019ll need to do some research before heading down. It\u2019s a genuine members club, run by members for members, ensuring the environment is the safest it can possibly be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pedn Vounder and Treen, Cornwall<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If off the beaten track is your cup of tea, Pedn Vounder and Treen is worth a visit. Backed by steep cliffs, clothing is optional at this small Cornish beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, it\u2019s definitely not for beginners. There\u2019s no lifeguards, toilets, or shops nearby, and the walk down to the beach can be treacherous. It\u2019s also inaccessible at high tide, so this might be a spot for our more adventurous naturists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holkham Bay, Norfolk<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Bums and birds \u2013 what more could you need? Holkham Bay is one of the UK\u2019s most famous nudist beaches, located close to Wells-next-the-Sea. It\u2019s a retreat to nature in every sense of the world, backed by a pine forest and a bird sanctuary. Skinny dipping to the sounds of birdsong? Sounds heavenly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a wide beach at low tide, so there\u2019s plenty of space for visitors to keep to themselves. It is a pet friendly beach, though, so be prepared for low flying dogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cleat\u2019s Shore, Isle of Arran<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Situated at the southwest tip of the Isle of Arran, there\u2019s a very good chance you\u2019ll be the only visitor at this gorgeous beach \u2013 clothed or otherwise. The remote sandy shore may have freezing cold sea, but the seal sightings more than makes up for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

White Rose Naturist Club, Yorkshire<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Naturist tranquillity in the heart of Yorkshire? Yes please. Founded in 1944, White Rose is set in an 11-acre woodland site, providing the perfect setting to enjoy the naturist lifestyle. Whether you want to sunbathe, swim, or get active on some miniten courts, there\u2019s something for everyone here. Again, this one is run by members, so you\u2019ll need to apply before booking your getaway here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rhossili Bay, Wales<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s several beaches in Wales where you can go commando, and Rhossili Bay is a popular choice. Located on the Gower Peninsula on the south coast of Wales, you can access the beach by car, a mere six-minute drive from the nearby Rhossili. On the northern end of the beach, it\u2019s a naturist\u2019s paradise. After you\u2019ve soaked up the sun and had a dip in the sea, why not pop your clothes on to check out the shipwreck of Helvetica!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Rhossili Bay is still remote, it\u2019s a little bit easier to spend a day here than some of our other locations \u2013 boasting shops, toilets, and places to eat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
