For the seventh time in four months, Anne Hathaway glided onto a red carpet filled screaming fans, waving and chatting to press while she posed for pictures with the cast of her latest blockbuster, Christopher Nolan\u2019s The Odyssey. Draped in custom Prada, Hathaway cradled her stomach in excitement \u2013 it was her first public appearance since announcing she\u2019s expecting her third child with husband, actor Adam Shulman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 43, and with a six- and ten-year-old at home (Jack and Jonathon) Hathaway is calling her third baby her \u2018buzzer beater\u2019, joking recently on Late Night with Seth Meyers that she and Shulman \u2018knew what we were doing, but we were so shocked it worked.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Certainly, Hathaway didn\u2019t exactly plan the 2026 she\u2019s having. Delays in filming and release schedules mean she\u2019s in the midst of five major movies premiering in six months, travelling internationally for the premieres of both Mother Mary and The Devil Wears Prada 2 in April, now again for The Odyssey, then science fiction thriller The End of Oak Street next month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the buzz doesn\u2019t end there \u2013 for the love of huns everywhere, she\u2019ll also star as Verity in Colleen Hoover\u2019s latest movie adaption of her best-selling novel of the same name. Then, she takes on Yesteryear, the Sunday Times bestseller by Caro Claire Burke that you\u2019ll see on every sun lounger this summer, about a trad wife suddenly plunged into the pioneer days she romanticises online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hathaway\u2019s production company, Somewhere Pictures, snagged the film rights to Yesteryear two years before the book even hit the stands \u2013 Burke explaining that she received a text from her agent when the book was still just a mere draft saying, \u2018Annie is interested!\u2019 Like Verity, which Somewhere Pictures also produced with Amazon MGM Studios, Hathaway will be both in-front-of and behind the camera for the novel-turned-blockbuster. Reese Witherspoon, you may have competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a schedule Hathaway has admitted is \u2018crazy\u2019, insiders say she\u2019s leaning into her ubiquity this year. \u2018Anne really didn\u2019t expect to front-and-centre for so many movies in such a short time, but she\u2019s made the decision to run with it and really put herself out there in interviews,\u2019 a source close to Hathaway explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And put herself out there she has, even addressing those ongoing face lift rumours on Instagram. Posting a video of her hair stylist braiding two small pieces of hair near each temple and pulling them back to achieve a \u2018lifted\u2019 look, it was a posted with a nod and a wink at the raucous debate about her appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018We\u2019re at a time when people feel very confident in assuming what they think is fact, and sometimes it\u2019s not,\u2019 she said in a recent interview. \u2018These are huge medical decisions that people are presuming. I wanted to show that like, no, I didn\u2019t make a huge medical decision. It\u2019s just two braids\u2026 And by the way, I might still get a facelift someday.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Radical honesty, radical positivity, it\u2019s all part of the Hathaway brand \u2013 but, as insiders warn, it\u2019s \u2018an approach that comes with some risks, given her history.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That history is, of course, the years of Hathahate. Bullied into stepping back from Hollywood, Hathaway faced endless abuse that was attributed to her relative over-exposure in the press at the time, critics suddenly deciding she was \u2018annoying\u2019 and \u2018inauthentic\u2019 – particularly after her 2013 Oscars win for Les Mis\u00e9rables in which she perhaps too earnestly declared \u2018It came true!\u2019 during her acceptance speech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, she\u2019s able to laugh about it all. \u2018I have a line in Devil Wears Prada 2 about how I\u2019m so proud to be a New Yorker, and then\u2026 it came true [when the Knicks won], I usually get in trouble when I say that\u2019 she joked during her interview with Meyers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the toll Hathahate took on her, including losing out on roles because of how toxic her identity became online, Hathaway no longer fears overexposure, nor being judged for being so happy. \u2018If I can\u2019t have a positive outlook on [fame and acting] when I\u2019m having such a fortunate ride, then it would be wasted on me,\u2019 she explains. \u2018If I\u2019m not enjoying it, then really, really what\u2019s wrong with me?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
