RHONY Star Reveals Ghislaine Maxwell Set her up with prince andrew

What she had to say about their date is intriguing…

Caroline Radziwill has opened up about her 90s dinner date with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor – revealing that it was none other than Ghislaine Maxwell who set the evening up.

The conversation arose during an October episode of Real Housewives of New York City, when former journalist and socialite Radziwill, 63, and her castmates were vacationing on Moskito Island. Radziwill mentioned that her name had appeared in the Jeffrey Epstein files, revealing that she had once been set up on a date with the former Prince through their mutual friend, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence after being convicted of child sex trafficking in connection with Epstein. Although she described herself as being ‘friendly’ with Maxwell, Radziwill revealed in a confessional that she had ‘never met’ Epstein.

Speaking to her fellow housewives, Radziwill recalled meeting Prince Andrew after the death of her husband, television executive Anthony Radiziwill, back in 1999. She explained, ‘I was in London and it was right after my husband passed away, so it was like December, it was the holidays. Our mutual friend told [Ghislaine] that, “Oh, you know, Carole’s husband just passed away. She’s in London by herself.”

‘And so I get a call, and she said, “This is Ghislaine Maxwell. I’m so sorry to hear about your husband. Let me have my friends take you out to dinner.” And I was like, no, no, I don’t really… I’m good. Thank you so much.’

Despite her refusal, Radziwill said Maxwell was ‘kind of insistent.’ She explained, ‘I gave in. I was like, “Okay.” And I would say a half hour later, maybe even less, I got a call on my little Nokia phone from the Duke of York. Prince Andrew.’

‘It was kind of unmemorable’

Her admission sparked a wave of curiosity amongst her housemates, who began speculating over exactly what went down during Radizwill’s dinner date with the now-disgraced royal.

When asked by Daisy Toye if she had ‘made out’ with Andrew, Radziwill insisted that nothing had happened. Uttering a less than impressed review, she shared, ‘We went to dinner and that was it. It was kind of unmemorable.’

Andrew was stripped of his military titles and royal patronages back in 2022 after he was embroiled in a sexual assault lawsuit filed against him by Virginia Giuffre, a victim of Epstein. The former prince settled with Giuffre out of court for an undisclosed sum, before Giuffre died by suicide in April 2025.

In October 2025, King Charles stripped his younger brother of his royal titles, as Andrew’s ties to Epstein – who died in prison in 2019 – came under fresh scrutiny.

The new spotlight on the former Duke of York came after the U.S Department of Justice released thousands of pages of evidence from the Epstein files, including multiple mentions and photographs of Andrew.

And on February 19 (which happened to be his 66th birthday), Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office, linked to allegations that he had shared confidential information with Epstein while working as an envoy for the British Government. Andrew has denied all wrongdoing in his connections with Epstein.

""

It’s not the first time Radziwill has found her name in headlines over her connection to Epstein – with her name among hundreds listed in the files. The former journalist has previously denied ever knowing Epstein or having visited ‘Epstein Island,’ insisting that her appearance in the files came from her personal emails with Maxwell about social events and dinner invitations.

Radziwill had previously shared that she shared a ‘couple’ mutual friends with Maxwell. ‘In the early 2000s, it would be strange if you [went out] to a big event in New York and Ghislaine wasn’t there,’ she told RHONY producers. However, she insisted that they were never ‘close friends,’ saying, ‘When I would see Ghislaine, it would always be with [our] mutual girlfriends.’

Adding it was ‘so hard to navigate’ how to address her past friendship with Maxwell, Radziwill continued, ‘I don’t want to be dismissive about it […] I can’t be more transparent in this.’

‘If you had access to money, power, or a very famous last name, she made it her business to know you.’

Indeed, Radziwill’s late husband had a family tree that caught the eye of many a member of high society and politics. Anthony Radziwill was the son of Prince Stanislaw Albrecht Radziwill, a Polish Prince, and Caroline Bouvier, the younger sister of First Lady Jaqueline Kennedy.

Anthony and Carole first met in 1989 while they were both working at ABC news, and were married from 1994 until his death in August 1999 following a battle with cancer. It came amid a period of heartbreak for Anthony, who had lost his cousin and best friend John F. Kennedy Jr. just three weeks prior in a plane crash, alongside his Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and her sister, Lauren Bessette.

According to Radziwill, her brief friendship with Maxwell didn’t last long. ‘I knew, probably all along, that she would not ever be interested in Carole DiFalco,’ the RHONY star said, referring to her maiden name. ‘But she was very interested in Carole Radziwill. She was a social climber, so if you had money, access to money, power, or say, a very famous last name, she made it her business to know you.’
