King Charles\u2019s shocking warning to Harry over his marriage \u2013 but will he listen?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s now just weeks until Prince Harry\u2019s UK return, but this ultimatum from Charles could plunge their royal reunion into chaos<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

King Charles and Harry both want a reconciliation… but there are issues<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Six years on from the start of the deep rift that would continue to divide the Royal Family, a reunion between Prince Harry and his father, King Charles, could now be just weeks away as Harry prepares for his July return to the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charles, 77, is widely reported to be softening his stance towards Harry, 41, with speculation growing that the King is keen to welcome his youngest son back into the fold soon enough and even finally relent to the ‘half in, half out’ royal role that Harry had mooted back in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, royal observers have continued to claim that Harry\u2019s wife of eight-years, Meghan Markle, 44, is still adamant that she and Harry forge ahead with their Hollywood dream and is highly unlikely to agree to any truce with the royals unless it is fully on her terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now a source tells us that Harry\u2019s seeming determination to do everything by Meghan\u2019s rulebook, including monetising their royal status \u2013 something the late Queen was adamant should not be allowed \u2013 remains perhaps the last, and biggest, hurdle to Harry\u2019s reconciliation hopes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So much so, that we\u2019re told Charles has delivered a shock warning to Harry over his marriage; one which could leave him facing a difficult crossroads ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The insider says, \u2018Charles fully understands Harry\u2019s attraction to a strong woman; he\u2019s got a very powerful wife himself and takes no issue with that. He does, however, believe that to make that dynamic work each party has to know when and how to push back, and he’s frustrated that Harry is not doing enough of that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018He points out how hardheaded Harry can be with his own family when he wants something and is demanding that he start showing some of that backbone with Meghan. He has warned Harry that if he doesn’t make some adjustments this tentative truce they’re building will never get off the ground.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While this dynamic between Harry and Meghan has been widely reported since they began to carve out their new life in Montecito with their children \u2013 Archie, seven, and Lilibet, four \u2013 the source says the latest trigger for Charles\u2019 concern is the alleged list of demands Harry insisted on being put in place if Meghan were to join him in England this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the security for his family has rightfully remained the most important component of their visit, an insider recently told us how Harry has also demanded Meghan not be treated as a \u2018villain\u2019 and ordered the family to be courteous and polite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Harry is coming in with all these demands on behalf of Meghan, and it\u2019s rubbing a lot of people up the wrong way,\u2019 a US source recently added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Royal author Pauline Maclaran further added, \u2018I don’t think Harry is in any position to make demands from the royals and any such requests are only likely to alienate them further.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And we\u2019re told that while Harry has \u2018insisted the list was all his own doing\u2019, Charles remains sceptical and is urging Harry to reconsider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018It was not missed by anyone, Charles included, that as soon as Harry was informed that he and Meghan and the children would be welcomed this summer he came back with all these demands on behalf of Meghan,\u2019 the insider says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018He insisted the list was all his own doing but everyone saw it and have branded it one more example of Meghan being controlling. Charles is sick of it and has laid it out for Harry that he needs to rethink these demands.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following reports last year of a campaign to ingratiate the Sussexes back into the hearts of the UK public, reportedly dubbed \u2018Operation Bring Harry Back from the Cold\u2019, the success of Harry and Meghan\u2019s Australian quasi-royal tour was widely reported to have only strengthened that sentiment for Harry\u2019s supporters within the Firm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the source says the longer Harry continues to make demands from his family at a time when there are reportedly still some senior figures, including his own brother Prince William, who disagree with him being welcomed back into the royal fold, the more \u2018frustrated\u2019 those supporting his plight are becoming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The insider says, \u2018It\u2019s very frustrating for everyone who’s pulling for Harry to watch him behaving this way because it does feel very self-destructive. But he refuses to see that and is adamant these are boundaries he needs to set out from the start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018He says he\u2019s doing the right thing by being upfront about what his hard-lines are, he doesn\u2019t want to have a situation where they arrive there and lines are crossed and he\u2019s forced to turn around and leave with his wife.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This isn\u2019t the first time Harry has been seen as something of a royal rebel, having been photographed as a teen playing strip poker and appearing, overall, to be much cheekier than his older brother, who of course has the responsibility of being Heir to the throne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the past few years have seen Harry turn from loveable rebel to a royal renegade who has repeatedly blasted the institution as a whole and left his family grappling with some serious reputational damage following claims he and Meghan made of bullying and racism behind palace walls \u2013 accusations that has been strenuously denied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So it\u2019s little wonder that we\u2019re told that, at least in part, Charles can\u2019t help but feel that Meghan may have played a role in Harry\u2019s apparent \u2018lack of respect\u2019 for his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The insider says, \u2018In some ways, it\u2019s true that Harry has never been one to just accept things as they are. But, at the same time, he used to have a lot more respect for his father and the way things are done, so it\u2019s been quite bewildering for Charles to see the change in him since he met Meghan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018He had hoped that by now it would have changed, that he\u2019d have come back to his senses, but Harry appears to be just as much under her thumb as he has been since day one, or at least that\u2019s how people within the palace view the situation.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet following the success of his own US tour last month and the good news that his schedule for on-going cancer treatment has been reduced, Charles has proven recently that he is still very much in charge and thriving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now the source says that after reportedly having been at loggerheads with William over Harry\u2019s potential royal return, Charles is no longer willing to continue \u2018going to bat\u2019 for his youngest son if he continues with this apparent lack of modesty and self-awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018By all accounts this is going to come down to Harry having to make a choice, he can either abandon all of these demands and come in good faith or he can stick to Meghan\u2019s playbook and watch everything he\u2019s been working at crumble,\u2019 we\u2019re told.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Charles is doing all he can to smooth the path for Harry, he\u2019s been exceptionally forgiving already and has really gone to bat for him, but he will not be told what to do by his son and daughter-in-law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018These two are going to need to get off their high horse and realize how lucky they are to be even getting this chance to return. Certainly, if it was up to William this would not be happening.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
