Some – like Violet Affleck – stay firmly out of the spotlight, while others follow in the footsteps of their celebrity parents on the road to stardom, like Carys Douglas – daughter of Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

But whichever road they take, growing up as the child of a Hollywood star comes with unique challenges as well as the obvious benefits, and navigating the world of fame can prove challenging for some.

A family name will only get you so far. Hard work and talent are needed to carve out a place in Tinseltown. Of course, it also helps if you’ve received model-worthy good looks from your Hollywood heart-throb father or your screen-siren mother.

Read on to discover the celebrity daughters who have inherited their parents’ Hollywood genes. Some will have you thinking you’re seeing double – Ava Phillipe looks so much like Reese Witherspoon it’s uncanny. Meanwhile, Gwyneth Paltrow almost seems to have a clone in the form of Apple Martin!

Apple Martin

Apple is the daughter of Hollywood’s most famous consciously uncoupled couple – actress and Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow, and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

The 20-year-old currently attends college, and while there is no sign yet that she may choose to pursue the limelight like her famous parents, she has been spotted singing along to her father’s piano playing. She also made her fashion world debut at Paris Fashion Week in 2003, sitting in the front row of the Chanel show.

Jasmin Lawrence

Jasmin is the eldest daughter of Bad Boys actor and funnyman Martin Lawrence and his first wife, Patricia Southall, former Miss Virginia USA. Take one look at the 28-year-old and it’s clear she has inherited her mother’s pageant queen looks.

Following in the footsteps of her famous dad, Jasmin is pursuing a career in acting in LA, having most recently starred in a Bad Boys spin-off.

She is dating the offspring of another comedic genius – Eddie Murphy’s son Eric Murphy. The pair made their romance Instagram official in 2021 and Jasmine later confirmed they’d met through her uncle, not their famous dads, as everyone expected. On Jimmy Kimmel Live!, her dad Martin joked that the duo would have a “comedy super baby”.

Valentina Paloma Pinault

Hollywood siren Salma Hayek and her husband – French businessman François-Henri Pinault – share one daughter, aged 17. The actress was 41 at the time of Valentina’s birth – a moment made even more joyous by her past fears she wouldn’t be able to have children.

Valentina was just 14 years old when she starred on the cover of Vogue Mexico alongside her mother and she’s also accompanied her mum to the Oscars as well as strolling the red carpet at many movie premieres as Salma’s plus one.

It’s highly possible we’ll see Valentina’s name up in lights in the future. She told Vogue Mexico in 2022: “I would like to be an actress and then a director because that is what makes sense in my head.”

Ava Phillipe

Reese Witherspoon’s eldest child actually is a model, sharing her mother’s looks. With their blonde hair and radiant smile, Ava and Reese are carbon copies of each other.

The 25-year-old has already worked with brands like Dior, Channel and Balmain, and shows no signs of slowing down!

Lola Consuelos

Lola is the second child of TV stars Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. She is an aspiring singer, and also shares her parents’ screen-worthy looks.

She studied music at NYU, so it seems more likely we’ll see her making waves in the music world in the future rather than on the small screen like her mum and dad.

Natalia Bryant

Natalia is the eldest daughter of the late basketball star Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa, and the 21-year-old has recently begun to model professionally.

She signed with IMG Models aged 18, and her ambitions were revealed in a statement posted to their website: “I have always been interested in fashion since a very young age. I have a love for the industry, and ever since I can remember, I wanted to model. There is a lot to learn, but I feel this is a great opportunity for me to learn and express myself creatively.”

Natalia made her runway debut in 2023 at Milan Fashion Week, walking the runway for Versace. “I’m so grateful to Donatella [Versace] and am honoured that she has invited me to be a part of something so special,” she told Vogue. “She was just so welcoming and sweet and made me feel so comfortable. Meeting her definitely helped settle any nerves.”

Violet Affleck

Growing up with famous parents has made Violet, 18, more spotlight-shy and she rarely makes public appearances.

She did make an exception this summer, however, posting a fiery political speech to Twitter advocating for greater mask availability and free COVID-19 testing to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors in her perspective as a first-time voter and Los Angeles County resident.

When Violet is seen in public, it’s clear that she’s inherited the natural good looks of A-list parents Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner.

Carys Douglas

The scion of Michael Douglas and Catherine-Zeta-Jones has inherited her parents’ Hollywood good looks, sharing her mother’s beautiful brown hair, and her father’s eyes.

The young actress is already making headway in the acting world, starring in a short film that will screen at PROOF Film Festival in Los Angeles at the end of October.

Both her parents have explained that she may have to overcome the ‘nepo baby’ stigma to make it in Hollywood. Speaking on the Drew Barrymore Show, Catherine said: “One has to prove oneself more. Even with that deterrent, my kids are like: ‘No, sorry, we still want to do it’.”

Nico Parker

At just 19 years old, it’s clear Nico has inherited not only actress Thandiwe Newton’s looks, but her acting ability too.

Nico made her big screen debut in the live-action remake of Dumbo when she was 14 and received critical acclaim for her guest appearance in HBO’s adaptation of The Last Of Us.  She will star in both the new live-action How To Train Your Dragon film and Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy in 2025, clearly showing a promising career ahead.

Mia Threapleton

Mia is Kate Winslet’s daughter from her first marriage to film director Jim Threapleton and she shares her mother’s blonde hair and natural beauty.

She has big shoes to fill as she follows her Oscar-winning mum into the acting world, but so far she’s made a promising start. Mia has starred alongside Kate in I Am… and also taken a prominent role in the period TV series The Buccaneers.
