This week, King Charles and Queen Camilla kicked off the royal tour to Australia in style as they landed in Sydney on Friday for their first official tour as reigning monarchs. Prince William also had a busy week, testing out his athletic ability and crime scene investigation skills, while the Spanish royals united for a special day.

The Queen of the Netherlands got involved playing Rummikub during a visit to a village focusing on community life on Wednesday.
Princess Beatrice and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York

It was a momentous week for the Duchess of York, who celebrated her 65th birthday in style as she was joined by her eldest daughter at the Lady Garden Foundation lunch, in their first sighting together since Princess Beatrice’s pregnancy announcement.
Princess Leonor of Spain

The heir presumptive to the Spanish throne looked neat as a pin wearing military dress for her official duties. She accompanied her parents, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, for a series of celebrations for the National Day of Spain, commemorating Columbus’s arrival in the Americas.
Prince William

It’s been a busy week for the Prince of Wales, who impressed onlookers with his “incredible” throwing skills during a visit to an NFL Foundation UK charity event.

He also attended the Centrepoint Awards, of which he is patron. He made an inspiring speech, calling for an end to homelessness.

The Norwegian royals looked glamorous as they attended a gala dinner hosted by King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway for the Finnish President and his wife. The group posed for this official photograph.

A royal touchdown in Sydney saw the King and Queen disembark from their plane in Sydney for the start of their royal tour around Australia and Samoa.

The Sydney Opera House was lit up with a photograph of the royal couple to celebrate their arrival.

The King and Queen’s official trip to Australia and Samoa is currently underway. Highlights of the visit Down Under will see the royal couple spending time in the capital Canberra meeting leading figures and paying their respects to the country’s fallen, while in western Sydney they will attend a community barbecue.
Charles and Camilla will later travel to Samoa for a four-day state visit and join world leaders who are taking part in a Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) which the monarch will open.
Understandably it’s likely to be a quieter week in terms of royal engagements during the October half-term break for schoolchildren in the UK, but here’s what you can look forward to in the diary.
Tuesday
Just a couple of months after the successes of the British squad at the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics, the Princess Royal will hold a ‘Celebration of Olympic and Paralympic Coaching’ Reception at Buckingham Palace in her role as Patron of UK Coaching. She will also chair the Quarterly Meeting of the Court for The Corporation of Trinity House in the capital.

Wednesday
Princess Anne, as Colonel-in-Chief of Intelligence Corps, will visit Joint Cyber and Electromagnetic Activity Group Headquarters and Joint Service Signal Unit Digby at RAF Digby in Lincolnshire.
She will then travel to Scotland to attend a Scottish Fire and Rescue Commemoration Service on the occasion of its Bicentenary at St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh. Later, in her role as Royal Patron of Leuchie House, she will hold a dinner at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
Meanwhile, the Duchess of Edinburgh, as Patron of The Scar Free Foundation, will visit Swansea University’s Simulation and Immersive Learning Centre.
Thursday
While in Scotland, Princess Anne will also open Rowan Glen Limited Yoghurt Factory in Wigtownshire. She’ll then travel down to Cumbria to open a new building at West Cumberland Hospital in her role as Patron of Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
In the evening, the Princess Royal will attend a Trafalgar Night Dinner in The Painted Hall at the Old Naval College in support of The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.
Friday
Princess Anne will be back in Scotland to open the General Assembly for the British Standards Institution Annual Meeting of the International Electrotechnical Commission at The Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
