12 A-listers with incredibly tall children

If you watched the US election recently, or have spent any time scrolling through X, formerly Twitter, you may have noticed a fair bit of discussion about the height of some of the children in Hollywood.  

When Donald Trump was announced as the next President of the United States, he was supported by his wife Melania and 18-year-old son, Barron. Naturally, there was plenty of focus on the man of the hour, but many couldn’t help but notice the stature of Donald Trump’s son. Standing at 6 ft 7 inches, Barron towers over his parents. 

Not to be outdone on this side of the pond, Gary Barlow’s son Daniel sparked a flood of memes on X. The Take That star’s eldest son stands at 6’2”, but compared to Gary’s 5 ft 7 inches, he appears much taller… hence the memes. 

In celebration of those children who outgrow their parents and then keep on going, HELLO! has rounded up the children of A-listers who are a fair bit taller than the average.

The Mummy actor, 55, is already tall himself, standing at 6 ft 2 inches, but all of his sons have overtaken him. His youngest two, Holden and Leeland, stand closer to 6 ft 3 inches.  

Most unexpected, however, is Brendan’s eldest son Griffin, who stands two inches taller than his brothers. “He just turned 20, he’s a big kid, he’s six ft five, he’s got big hands and feet, a big body,” said Brandan of his son while discussing his Oscar-winning role in The Whale with Interview Magazine.

The actor said that his son, who is autistic, helped shape his performance in the movie — in which he played an obese English teacher who weighs 600 pounds. “I understand intimately what it is to be close to a person who lives with obesity,” he said.

Brendan added that Griffin is “the happiest person and is, in my life and many others’, also the manifestation of love”.

If you follow the Met Gala, you might recall a certain viral photo of Kim, Kylie and Kendall standing next to each other on the famed red carpet, looking somewhat unusual.  

Despite sharing the same mother, the three sisters couldn’t be more different – in height and personality. 

While Kim stands at 5 ft 1 inch and Kris is slightly taller at 5 ft 5 inches, Kendall Jenner is 5 ft 9 inches, towering over her mum and sisters as the supermodel in the family.

When Reese’s eldest son Deacon, 21, made a surprise appearance as her date to the Golden Globes this year, it was clear that he’s been doing some growing since he was pictured just about catching up to dad Ryan Phillipe in 2017. 

As neither of his parents are particularly tall, with Ryan at 5 ft 7 inches, and Reese at 5 ft 1 inches, Ryan trumps them both at 5 ft 9 inches.

Barron Trump’s stature shocked viewers around the world when he joined his father on stage following Donald’s second presidential victory.  

Towering over his 6 ft 3 in father and 5 ft 9 in mother, 18-year-old Barron is over two meters tall at 6’9”. 

At a rally, Donald revealed the reason behind his son’s height. He said: “Boy, did she take care of Barron,” he said of Melania’s late mother, who died in January. “That’s how he got so tall– he only ate her food.” 

Donald also joked about encouraging Barron towards sports suited for taller people. 

“I said, ‘You’re gonna be a basketball player’. He said, ‘Well, I like soccer, Dad, actually’. I thought…at your height, I like basketball better, but you can’t talk them into everything.”

The James Bond actor has four sons and one late daughter, but the tallest is Pierce’s fourth child, Dylan. Aged 27, Dylan is 6’4”, a full inch taller than his famous dad. 

Pierce’s youngest son, Paris, 23, seems to be just about equal to his father – littlest in both age and stature!

If your son’s dad is a basketball player, you’d expect him to be lofty – but 6 ft 5 in at age 17? Wow!  TV personality and actress La La’s son Kiyan Anthony, whom she shares with former NBA star Carmelo Anthony, is following in his dad’s footsteps as a basketball player himself, putting his height to use in the sport. 

Jokingly, when hearing her son say he was 6 ft 5 inches on a call, La La called him out: “You’re 6’4″, baby. Stop lying! He’s 6’4.” 

Kiyan clapped back at his mum, saying he had just been measured. Jury is still out… 

The son that spawned a thousand memes – Gary Barlow innocently posted a family photo that went viral when the internet capitalised on the extreme height difference between Gary and his son, Daniel.  

At 6’2”, the 24-year-old is by no means a giant, but next to his 5 ft 7 in father, he stands over a head taller.

While Jen and Ben’s 18-year-old daughter rarely strays into the spotlight, Violet Affleck is striking for a different reason aside from having famous parents – she is 6 ft tall. 

Ben himself is 6 ft 2 inches and Jennifer is 5’7”, so she has far outgrown her mother and is giving Ben a run for his money. 

Brooke’s youngest daughter Grier, 18, is putting her incredible height to good use in her budding career as a model. Statuesque at 6 ft 1 inch, Grier is just above her 6 ft mum. 

In an interview with She Knows, Brooke revealed that Grier was bullied in school because of her height. 

She said: “Wow, wow girls can be just plain mean. And [Grier] comes home and I just want to talk about it and she’s like, ‘Don’t tell me to lead with kindness, don’t tell me to take the high road. I’m getting a nosebleed with this high road.'” 

But Brooke has some strong advice for her daughters: “Most of the vitriol that gets spewed at you, it only bothers you if you believe it.  

“It taps into an insecurity of yours, but 99.9 per cent of the time, it’s their problem. I want to rip people apart and probably could. But it’s like my mom used to say, ‘Count to 10, count to 10, count to 10.’ And then I realise, ‘Oh this is their problem [and] insecurity.'”

Standing almost shoulder-to-shoulder with her superstar father, Ella Travolta is 5 ft 10 inches to John’s 6 ft.  

It’s unlikely that the 24-year-old will follow other lofty celebrity children in making a move towards the modelling industry however, as she seems set on a career in music instead, having released an original song.

Both of Julianne’s two children with director Bart Freundlich have the tall gene. Their eldest, Caleb, is 6 ft 3 inches, the same height as his dad.  

Meanwhile, Julianne’s daughter Liv is significantly taller than her 5’3” mother, at 5 foot 9 herself. She has inherited her dad’s genes! 

Liv has taken an interest in modelling, in a partnership with Bvlgari and the clothing brand J. Crew, where her height will certainly come in handy.

Lennon, 25, is already making the most of his 6-foot frame by working as a model. He stands taller than both his famous dad, Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, and actress mother Patsy Kensit.
