Let’s be honest. Having celebrity parents such as Beyoncé or the Beckhams would give most children a head start climbing the A-List ladder.

Yes, there is the question on whether these children have risen to fame because of their
parents’ famous careers. Nevertheless, these kiddies and teens are carving their own path to stardom, and they seem to be taking a ‘Gen Z’ approach to it.

From making fashion statements at political events to being a social media influencer, let’s take a look at the children following in their A-Lister parents’ footsteps…

Harper Beckham

Harper had a Prada-themed 12th birthday party and was gifted a sparkly Prada bag

Trendy teenager Harper Beckham is not only moving up on the fashion watchlist but has the makeup skills of an expert in the making.

Born 10 July 2011 in Los Angeles, the only daughter of Victoria and David Beckham has grown up mostly out of the limelight and fans are only now starting to see her more grown-up identity.

Harper, 13, has a close relationship with both her parents and she is regularly featured on both of their Instagrams. But in particular, Harper has shown interest in her mum’s fashion brand and has been spotted in pictures wearing pieces from the range, Victoria Beckham, on several occasions. She even posted a video trying out Victoria Beckham Beauty products, which showed off her natural influencer vibe and love of beauty products like her mum.

David is a big fan of Harper’s makeup skills

Aside from her parents, Harper also has her own keen interest in beauty and makeup. In a March 2023 interview with The Times, Victoria spoke of her daughter’s talent: “She’s been able to do a full face and contour for quite some time. She’s good at doing it very naturally. Going to Space NK is her favourite treat after school.”

Harper’s high end fashion style is impressive for a 13-year-old and proves she is a true Beckham. She has an impressive designer bag collection and even had a Prada-themed 12th birthday party – of course being treated to a sparkly Prada handbag as well. Harper was spotted at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year and was noted for wearing royal favourite Van Cleefs & Arpels.

Although it’s still not clear whether Harper will pursue a fashion or beauty career, her wardrobe and natural makeup skills make her the perfect candidate.

Blue Ivy Carter

Blue has the perfoming bug from both parents

This future performer clearly takes after her parents with her stage presence and sass. Blue Ivy Carter was born on 7 January 2012 in New York City and is the oldest daughter of singer Beyoncé and rapper, Jay-Z.

From a young age, Blue, 12, accumulated accolades to her own name when she sampled on her dad’s song Glory in 2012. After this debut, she achieved a world record for being the youngest person to have a song on a Billboard chart. Proving she was on a roll, she then sang on Beyoncé’s song Brown Skin Girl in 2012 and was the youngest individually credited winner at the Grammys. Dancing is also a huge skill of Blue’s as she has appeared in mum Beyoncé’s music videos for Spirit and Formation.

Her major performer debut came in May 2023 when she joined her mum on the Renaissance World Tour for dance heavy numbers such as My Power and My Parade. Fans were over the moon when the mini star appeared alongside the dancers and Beyoncé was so proud of her daughter captioning an Instagram post: “My beautiful first born. I’m so proud and thankful to be your mama. You bring us so much joy, my sweet angel.”

Queen Bey was super proud of daughter Blue for supporting her on tour

Of course, it would seem obvious to follow your incredibly successful parents into the industry but Beyoncé has previously opened up to GQ about her eldest making her own choices: “Blue is an artist. She has great taste in music and fashion. She is a fantastic editor, painter and actress. She has been creating characters since she was three. She’s a natural but I did not want Blue on stage, Blue wanted it for herself.”

The mum and daughter duo will soon reunite again on screen as they are due star in a major Disney release together. Making her film debut in Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King, Blue will be voicing the role of Princess Kiara alongside Bey who is voicing Nala.

Romeo Beckham

Romeo is leaning more towards the modelling industry like his mother

Being the son of both Posh and Becks, Romeo Beckham has definitely inherited the football and fashion genes. Born 1 September 2002 in London, Romeo is one of three sons of former England footballer David Beckham and former Spice Girl and now fashion designer, Victoria Beckham.

Once upon a time, Romeo was set on a football career like his dad. He joined Arsenal FC Academy in 2014 and then moved closer to him at Fort Lauderdale FC, the sister club of Inter-Miami co-owned by David. Romeo made his professional football debut in September 2021 in a match against Tormenta FC and it looked like he was set to score many future goals.

Romeo is putting his football career on hold for modelling

However, the young Beckham is only 22 so it’s natural for career paths to change. Romeo is now hanging up his football boots and instead focusing on his modelling career. Whilst he was signed to Brentford Football, according to The Sun he has now instead signed with a top Paris fashion agency. The agency Safe  Management represents famous celebrities such as Alexa Chung and A$AP Rocky meaning Romeo could be set for a huge fashion career.

With model features like his mum to match, Romeo has made appearances in high-end fashion campaigns throughout the years. In 2012, he appeared on the magazine cover for L’Uomo Vogue and appeared in a Burberry campaign when he was only two years old. For now, it seems Romeo is following in his mum’s footsteps however, his dad can’t be too gutted he is putting football aside as David was a former model for Armani and Calvin Klein.

Then again, Romeo is still young, so who knows what the end career goal is going to be.

Eric Cowell

Eric is a One Direction fan who were signed to Simon’s label before the boyband split

Simon Cowell’s son may be the next talent scout of our generation. Arriving into the world on 14 February 2014 in New York City, Eric Cowell was born to America and Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon and his long-term partner Lauren Silverman.

The mini talent scout has a close relationship with his dad and can’t seem to leave his side since he has made appearances on Simon’s reality entertainment shows such as Britain’s Got Talent. The ten-year-old has been seen on TV right up by the judges’ seat where his dad sits and Eric has even put acts through to the live final by pressing the golden buzzer in front of large audiences.

Eric has made appearances on his dad’s talent shows

Being business-minded at a young age, Eric has even suggested to his dad about reuniting ex-boyband One Direction. On This Morning, Simon told the hosts about Eric’s smart idea as he said: “If we got them (One Direction) back together and put on their concert now, they would sell out stadiums all over the world.” Eric could be waiting a while for that reunion as the former boy band split in 2016 after being signed to Simon Cowell’s music label, but one can only dream!

Ella Emhoff

Vice President Kamala Harris enjoys having Ella attend her political conventions

It’s not every day that fashion gets political, but Ella Emhoff proves that it can. Born 29 May 1999, she is the stepdaughter of US Vice President Kamala Harris who married US Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff in 2014. Ella’s biological mum is Kerstin Emhoff, however, she does have a close relationship with Kamala. Whilst her stepmother is running her democratic campaigns, Ella carries the fashion headlines when she attends events with her family.

Ella Emhoff wore Tik Tok fashion designer Jo Ando’s dress to the 2021 Democratic
Convention

The 25-year-old became an internet star at the 2021 inauguration when she went viral for wearing Tik Tok designer Jo Ando’s tea party-themed dress. Choosing to wear an independent brand to a big media event was a bold statement and showed that she isn’t afraid to stand out in the modern fashion world.

Ella has been climbing the fashion ladder for the past few years and has been working with top designers. She wore Stella McCartney to the 2021 Met Gala and her Instagram is followed by modern fashion icons such as Charli XCX, showing that she is relevant to heryoung generation.

On Instagram, her everyday content updates followers on her edgy fashion fits to New York Fashion Week and her business casual attire to Democratic Conventions. Whilst she may not be following directly in line with her parents’ political careers, making politics expressive and a way of showcasing modern designers is a unique approach to watch out for in the fashion world.

Raff Law

The lookalike pair have made only one film appearance together

Aside from being the mini lookalike of his father, Raff Law has leaped into the Hollywood world of acting. Born 6 October 1996, the eldest son of actor parents Jude Law and Sadie Frost is following in their footsteps pretty successfully so far.

His acting credentials are impressive for a young actor, and he’s worked with top Hollywood producers already. Raff, 27, made his feature film debut as lead role Oliver Twist in the 2021 modern re-telling called Twist. He then worked with Steven Spielberg on war drama series Masters of the Air, released on Apple TV+ in 2024. Raff cameoed as Sergeant Ken Lemmons and starred alongside other well-known A-List names such as actors Barry Keoghan and Austin Butler.

Raff Law was among a star-studded cast for Masters of the Air

Despite the fact that Raff is heading into a similar career as his dad, he seems very set on honing his own identity in the industry. The only time the father and son duo were seen on film together was when they shot The Hat which was filmed on an iPhone in the COVID-19 pandemic and won the Spirit of The Festival Award at Raindance Film Festival.

At the moment, acting seems to be Raff’s sole focus but he hasn’t always had the same career interests as his parents. The young star was formerly in a band called Outer Stella OverDrive and they released an EP in 2021. Speaking about his personal journey into the industry Raff told GQ: “I’m really happy that I took the time in my late teens and early 20s to really figure myself out and understand what it takes to give it everything.”

Dream Kardashian

She is adored by her mum Angelina who manages her Instagram account

A mini star in the making is Dream Kardashian, who has just made her Instagram debut and is the youngest of the Kardashians to have socials. Born 10 November 2016, the daughter of Rob Kardashian and Angelina White – formerly known as Blac Chyna – already seems super confident in front of the camera.

The seven-year-old has featured on her parents’ reality show Rob and Chyna and now it looks like she is taking her career into her own hands (don’t worry her parents do still manage her Instagram page.)

Earlier this month, Dream posted an adorable video captioned “welcome to my page” and it gained over 68,000 likes including from her grandmother Kris Jenner. The teeny star is adored by her family including her aunty Khloé Kardashian who regularly posts pictures of Dream and went to support the youngster’s dance recital.

latest dance recital

Dream is a keen model-to-be and her famous last name ensures she is already part of a very successful modelling family. Her mum Angelina is a model and was Nicki Minaj’s stunt double. Not to mention, she is the niece of models Kendall and Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian who are bound to have lots of advice for her.

The little Kardashian’s latest venture was her sassy stance photos on the New York Fashion Week runway when she performed in the Zeus and Lexi Kid’s fashion show. The model wannabe may be starting early however, showing she is keeping in line with the family name.

Vivienne Jolie

The young Jolie has a unique eye for spotting upcoming theatre

Dipping into the world of producing is Vivienne Jolie whose first star credit was assisting her famous mum on Broadway. Born 12 July 2008, Vivienne is a huge theatre fan and this is lucky when your mum, Angelina Jolie, is an Oscar-winning actress. Her daughter, who is one of six children that Angelina and her ex-husband Brad Pitt shared before they split in 2014, has been her mum’s recent super sidekick.

In 2024, Vivienne, 14, helped Angelina produce The Outsiders musical on Broadway which is an adaptation of the S.E. Hinton novel. Angelina has spoken about her daughter’s eye for theatre and that Vivienne advised her to go and see an early workshop of the show being performed, before joining her mum as an assistant for the adaptation.

Clearly Vivienne has a special skill for the theatre world and it’s so nice to see her mum helping her build her confidence at a young age. At the opening night of The Outsiders, Angelina, 49, described Vivienne to People as a “young artist who focuses her efforts on the support of others.”

She has a bright career ahead; in June, Angelina won the Tony award for producing best new musical – so it’s clear the young assistant’s help paid off. This isn’t her daughter’s first appearance on the acting scene as Vivienne even made a cameo in the 2014 film Maleficent as young Aurora alongside her mother who plays the lead.

Leni Klum

Leni’s first magazine cover shoot was with her model mum Heidi

This model wasn’t actually allowed to pursue her career until she was 16. Leni, the daughter of German-American model Heidi Klum and Italian businessman Flavio Briatore, was in high modelling demand from a young age. Clothing brand Brandy Melville asked Leni to model when she was only 12 however, former Victoria’s Secret Angel Heidi chose to keep her daughter away from modelling studios until she was a bit older.

Protective mum Heidi is big supporter of Leni following her modelling dream

There’s no better way to start your modelling career than with your mum who is a famous industry name. The two blonde lookalikes were side by side for Leni’s first magazine cover for Vogue Germany in 2020 where doting mum Heidi wore a matching outfit to her daughter as she kissed her head. Leni clearly appreciated her mum’s support as she captioned the image of the two of them on the cover: “Thank you for being by my side.”

Aside from collaborating with her supermodel mum, Leni is building her own ‘cool girl’ identity online. The 20-year-old has 2 two million followers on Instagram and is currently teaming up with Dior Beauty on a range of products. Her lifestyle looks like a normal girl in her twenties who goes on holiday with friends or shares PDA photos of herself and her boyfriend. So alongside pursuing her modelling career, Leni is still fairly young and is studying interior design at New York University, showing that she has brains and beauty.

Dylan Douglas

His father Michael is super proud of his son who graduated from Brown University in 2022

Dylan Douglas is making his political mark in order to educate his social media followers on the upcoming US 2024 election. Born 8 August 2000 in Los Angeles, he is the son of Hollywood actors Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas.

Whilst Dylan, 24, isn’t going into the acting biz like his parents, he is using his Instagram to talk about politics and to reach out to young audiences. Like father, like son – two-time Oscar winner Michael also shares his political views online by sharing his thoughts on gun control
and nuclear disarmament.

In a way, Dylan is still honing his performance skills from his parents as he has turned to radio to start a new series on Sirius XM called Young American with Dylan Douglas.

Dylan gets his political interest from famous actor dad Michael Douglas

The series aims to talk about topics to get young voters involved and to speak to political leaders. Dylan even asks his thousands of Instagram followers for questions to ask the guests on the show. Graduating from Brown University in 2022, he has developed a keen interest in politics and in April 2024 he joined his father in his house to introduce President Joe Biden.
