A Yellowstone Bison Drove Its Horn Into a Car Tire During the Rut. You Can Hear It Pop on Video.<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The driver had barely moved forward in bumper-to-bumper traffic when the bull lowered its head and charged. One witness heard the tire deflate: “You could hear the pfft and just see the tire go down.” Rut season has started in Hayden Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Traffic came to a standstill earlier this week in crowded Yellowstone National Park<\/a> as a bison attacked a vehicle whose driver tried to sneak their way through a maze of cars. On July 20, video footage shows a bull bison weaving through bumper-to-bumper traffic. As one car inched forward, the animal charged, popping the tire with its horn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe bison was just meandering from side to side on the road. All of the cars are stopped, and he\u2019s minding his own business,\u201d Troy Isdahl, who was visiting the park from North Dakota, told Outside<\/em>. When the bison turned off the roadway, the car ahead of Isdahl\u2019s moved forward, then slammed on its brakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI guess the bison took offense to that,\u201d Troy said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
